    This is the most jello I've seen in any Pavo Pico vid. Most of them are extremely smooth

  • @airpixelsuk
    @airpixelsuk 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    It took me a while but I ended up using extra squidgy gummies for mounting the frame and some thick O rings for the camera mounting. I then ensured the cable for the O3 camera did not touch the frame and so far, my footage created using GF has been totally jello free. Rocksteady footage is excellent too.

    I think I made the right choice with the mobula 8. It's on the edge of what's required to carry this vtx, but still seems much punchier than this, and pretty robust.
    Big respect for persevering with the soft mount!

  • @charly94xry34

    i heard that the cam cable touching the frame could be the reason of the jello, mine personally doesnt have jello

    Great review and like your tweaks too. I did the same and used ribber o-rings on the cam between the mount plastic and cameras itself. The cable going to the camera has a lot of input on video jello. Make sure that the cable is 'isolated' as much as possible also when coiling it up -no jello on my build

    I bought one shortly after release and had the motor wires go into the props because those had some slack, resolved that by just wrapping the wires around the arm once the cancel out the slack.
    Its seems like your later unit got now the motor wires held up with tape.

    • @Arek_R.
      @Arek_R. 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Another problem I had was that I bought only two extra batteries so 3 in total but that was not enough due to flight time so I bought two more locally from amzn and those were some older spec, had very thick wires on XT30 and also longer, than what came with the pavo pico from china, because of that locally bought ones don't fit well and there is massive wire slack sticking out and the wires dont really want to bend to fit into the whoop.

  • @BuddyJesus

    I have seen so many mixed videos on the pico regarding Jello. Some people had no jello issues at all while others saying it is unbearable. Making sure the o3 frame screws aren't overtightened, making sure the camera cable isn't absorbing vibrations from the frame, etc. Soft mounting the camera seemed to help some, but not perfect. I imagine some loctite or a drop of glue to prevent screws from backing off is the way to go. I have seen some videos where the air unit having jello even on larger platforms, which some fix with a dab of glue behind the units lens ring. Not sure how that fixes anything though. Another guy explained he had horrible jello when he had his UV filter on and when removed it, no more jello. Maybe see if the camera tpm printed cover is adding to jello? I ordered one of these as well and hope to get it in the mail soon to test it out.

    • @MrTechcat
      @MrTechcat ปีที่แล้ว

      The issue might be faulty DJI O3. Mine Pavo Pico works great flown as a cinewhoop.
      Second, even slightly bent props or guards have an impact too. And out of factory you might need to straiten the guards.

    • @BuddyJesus
      @BuddyJesus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrTechcat Yeah, could be the o3 units being used. I have seen jello in o3 footage from a wide variety of content that some don't even mention. I would like to get a 3d model of the o3 top frame and look at adjusting the front mount to hold the camera using the silicone inserts used commonly in something like an iflight o3 drone. Once mine arrives I'll likely tinker with this. If nothing else, I'd like to get the o3 frame put up in thingiverse

    Hi Mate, My Pico burnt up today whilst trying to turtle over. It was simply upside down on short grass. Luckily both the battery and 03 air unit survived. It was the 12A version and I believe one or more of the esc's lit up. Probably why they have moved to the 20A AIO board. Let's see if BetaFPV come the party with a replacement.

  • @joelmulder
    @joelmulder ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Interesting, haven’t seen the jello issue in many of the other reviews. I wonder why that is.
    Also, the black ducts are always the most fragile, because there’’s a lot of dye mixed in with the plastic.
    Basically any other color will be significantly stronger, especially white and transparant.

    I am a beginner and have confidence problem flying as I am scared to lose it in the wind, or crash it. But looking at your flying (never seen you fly before but watched many of your technical videos on fpv equipment), my flying is not too bad for 15 hours actual flight outside and less than 5 hours on flight sim 😅. I was almost ready to give up fpv, but after forcing myself to fly a few minutes a day, it makes a huge difference to confidence controlling the drone.

    If anyone's trying to mull over which 03 micro-loop platform to pick up, I have the Happymodel Mobula 8 03, and I don't have any issues with jello. There are micro switches that are unavoidable in a platform of the size, but with Rocksteady or gyro flow, they are completely eliminated. Also, bigger motors, bigger props, more thrust. it's much more capable of freestyle. I ordered the flywoo naked 03 kit, and im going to attempt to shave 20g off thecdry weight to make it fly even better. 🤙🏻😎
