Excellent review Will. Really well done. It's great to show your maiden/set-up process. So many modelers think the "Manual Settings" are the set-up. That is just the starting point. You fly it, adjust, repeat until it's right for you. I'm glad you like it...I knew you would!
Appreciate the suggestion on this plane. FMS did a great job on this one. You and I have discussed the whole "Maiden" thing. See too many pilots just wingit. (Not poking at you John....) Gotta have a plan for it.. Or at least I need a plan to stay focused. I'm getting old you know.....😀
Very nice video Will. I like how you were very methodical about how you went through your 'tests' with the plane in a safe manner. Being safe with stall tests, runway fly by, etc. is a good way to ensure that you don't 'auger in' with a new model. You did great with all of your flying and demo work, and especially with some very sweet wheel landings! ( Personally - I think the wheel landings - with a little more speed - end up looking more scale like for a P-47 than a three point landing. ) Sure seems like a winner - and a plane that you can continue to have tons of fun with !!!
As always, I appreciate the support. This plane is a winner for sure. FMS did a solid job on the performance and details. Really glad ModelAV8R pushed me over the edge to buy it...
She is a solid performer. I've always liked the Zero. I have the old GWS Zero and its a wonderful plane. I've heard others say the Zero is a great design and most models perform well. I'm sure FMS did a solid job on theirs. I may look into that one... hmmmmm. Thanks, Will
Great plane, great video. I wouldn't change the format, they're enjoyable to watch and informative. I've put the Eflite bomb release on the centre drop tank. It's more or less a direct replacement for whats already there and adds even more fun to an already brilliant model 👍
Paul, Thanks.. Appreciate the support and comments.. Love the idea of a bomb drop.. I've been tinkering around with the idea to do it, but want a bomb that will do something when it impacts the ground.. Like a pin to strike a primer or cap... So many ideas, so little time... Thanks Will
Great flight. This FMS P-47d is truly beautiful and I all ready own it , still in the box , it's huge and 6s are little bit advance for me right now , I have some more to build and easier to maiden first... So i learn my leason , better fly the plane you can handle first and buy the plane you really want when they are available or you won't be able to find them anymore.
You are a wise RC Pilot. Too many pilots get a few rough flights out of their trainer and then rush out to purchase the latest cool warbird. Then they quickly realize its too much for them to handle while they are doing the maiden. Lots of broken foam.... Kinda makes me sad.. This plane is pretty easy to fly, its just a little intimidating due to its cost and size. The landings require proper throttle management, but its pretty easy and forgiving.
Appreciate it.. That process has been cultivated over the last year or so. Watching and speaking with Adam at ModelAV8R was enlightening on filling in some of the process that I was missing to really nail down the setup.. Its a fun process and as you know, rewarding. I assume a man with a passion for details like you does a very through setup too...
@@SteffenRC Yes thanks, I use a similar process but I think that you and Adam do a great job highting the steps. The new age ( last 10 years ) of virtual vs having to read everything is so much better for the hobby. Old school it was “ 3 mistakes high” when testing , not much else was stated back in the day. I spent 14 years away from the hobby coaching hockey but glad I am back and the great advancements and videos like yours and Adam’s.
Will good review I have the e-flite p47 flew great till transmitter failure pick up a lot of pieces did the rebuild and repainted not as good as you do but took it out Tuesday flew really good you can see the remaiden on my channel like yours need a little more aileron less elevator and little more rudder you channel is great 😊👍👍👍

FMS Makes some beautiful great flying planes, Love the P-47, hell love all Warbirds 😁 Nice maiden flights, looks like you got her dialed in fine👌
I'm with you. I have 3 of their big warbirds and really like them all.
Shes a darn good plane. The price and detail for what u get is awesome. Loved the video. Keep um coming ❤
Thanks. Really appreciate the comments. You're right about the details and performance for the price.. Really great plane...
I like your methodical approach for initial flights!
Appreciate the comments. Means a lot.. Happy flying...

That’s a really nice P47. I’m looking at buying one and this video is helpful. 👍🏻
Its an outstanding larger warbird.. Flies well and handles well on the ground..

Beautiful plane.
It sure is.. One of favorite.

Great job u do the same with stall test but I like to test with the gear down to really no wat I'm getting into on landing time
I like your gear down stall test better. I'm gonna use that on my next maiden. Thanks Will
Nice maiden flight!
Thanks Pete. She's a wonderful plane.. Easy to fly.. (as big warbirds go....)

Too bad the wind was out of the west. But, at least it tapered off
Ha.. So true Earl.. But, she's such a great flying plane. So looking forward to flying the heck out of her the next few weeks.
