Even though you can't find silver, I think nickels are my favourite to hunt. Well, pennies can yield lots of great older coins, but they're really hard to come by! Thanks for sharing this comprehensive video!
@@AgateJeweler Old quarters are great, but the challenge is that when hunting quarters in Canada, you're not likely to find many old quarters. That's why nickels and pennies are fun to hunt!
Hey there I am a Winnipeger and as you know we have a royal mint in town. I remember when the glow in the dark quarters came out I went I got one from the mint on release date it was super cool
my aunt (r.i.p) from winnipeg was an avid collector and probably went through many boxes many times ...got me started paying attention to change...luckily i shared a roll of unc. 1991 quarters on my first ever purchase from a dealer - in winnipeg.
as of october 3 2020 its been over a year of coin roll hunting and wow the treasure i found was amazing also keep a look out ill be making a video on the new klondike loonie i got from my work the other day
That video was great brother! Nickels have been really slow for me lately, but dimes are always decent and quarters are definitely the most enjoyable for me!
I dont get skunked cause I collect everything lmao I have a whole dresser draw filled with rolls But at the same time theres no huinters in my area, i get good coins a lot, ve had to explain to bank tellerswhy I want a $4 account to get a box of coins once a month (I keep it to 1-2 boxes per bank per month, but I have so many banks thats a lot of boxes, I just dont want one bank to see me too much after I was denied once) Now I need a second dump bank to give my dump bank a break lol
Hey Doc, awesome video(s). Previous til now my foreign coin collection, from travel, has been a large plastic ‘gulp’ cup. Evolution of technology, social media and rise of coin grading/marketing groups to go global has finally put some attainable worth to emptying that cup. SURPRISE! (not boasting) a 1876 NewFoundLand 50 cents coin, well, the 50 is worn out but it’s the same size as my 1911 Canada 50 cents. A 1942 NFL 1cent. A 1913 Can. 10 cent. 1943 George VI 10 cents and coins from other parts of the Brit. Empire reach. Thank you for your candor and teaching style. Please keep it coming. Bloody brilliant! From Hawaii 🌺 Hawaii Ciao for now!
Don’t know where abouts you are in Canada but you can still get half dollars in St.Catherines Ontario at most banks. I’ve found about 100 in the last 5 years there and towns near by.

Like 25 years ago I was a kid and was scrounching through this old couch we had for change and found a 50c piece. I had never seen one before. No clue where the fuck it went tho.
Nickel melt value is probably the way to go with the melt value being double, more or less depending on the day. So many people do not know what silver is or what it is worth. Silver in circulation is very rare theses days unless some little brat gets into his big brothers hoard to buy candy. I am always on the lookout for and have no problem spotting silver. Very rare to find silver in your change these days and when selling too a coin dealers/ bullion dealer. Most will have no problem bending you over in the worst unspeakable ways possible. The love of silver can be very abusive toxic relationship. So beware
I've wondered how you can still get half dollar boxes in the U.S. even though the coins don't really circulate and they haven't made business strikes for a long time, only NIFCs. I believe Canada still makes non-circulating 50 cent pieces sold in rolls for collectors, I think at double face value.
Looks like the US Mint just put out a ton of 2021 half dollars for circulation. Not exactly sure why, but I see lots of the American coin roll hunters are getting boxes of them!
@@CADRollHunter yea I heard that guess it's a bit of Karma for them, maybe to discourage the hobby or because so many people are ordering half dollars to hunt they made a mistake and think people are actually using them for purchases....

Good video As a US collector this helps. Thank you!
Where do you get a roll of pennies? Do you get them at the bank?
Very informative for a newbie; thanks so much.
Great video! Very helpful information. I agree with you on the loonies and toonies -- I will no longer hunt those denominations....

Can you melt them down for the silver? Do you have to remove the other metal as well

Is there any way I can send you a picture of coins? Thank you for all your work
Which bank in Canada is the best one to get coins from?

where are you finding pennies from
It would be great if you could show a picture of the coins you were talking about at the beginning of each roll!
I'd love to find a fake toonie for the collection 😜
I have Canada coin 10 cent, how can I sell this coin?
P have a 2006 penny, with no logo or mint mark and it is magnetic, I have told that this is worth some money.

Are the fake toonies spread out across Canada or local in big cities?
Why no nickel box
Hi I got some candian coins penny, loonies
Dope 🔥
They still make the half dollar here in Canada
Once they named it the camel-toe toonie, I went away
I find that searched rolls yield NOTHING not even seeders to attract new collectors
1978 25cent value
Some of the colored coins look like crap after the color is partially gone.
I disagree with your view of toonie value, I believe the sought after coloured & non coloured ones will only go up in price with time
Gotta have a dump bank.
i HAAAATE rolling dimes. I've sorted one box my whole life and I never wanted to give coins to a coinstar more than that cursed thing xD.
Sorry, but the bigger bummer is that we have no $1 and $2 bills to search through.
Ku
Why not just say 50-50 for the price of the box instead of your garble?
