My favorite wheel to wheel this year is a tie between Perez and Hamilton in Turkey, and Alonso and Hamilton in Hungry. Those are two of the most exciting things that happened this year!
Alonso defending against Hamilton was nothing short of greatness during the Hungarian GP. Wheel-to-wheel racing in F1 just doesn't get better than that.
Interlagos is a beautiful flowing track with passionate fans and a lot of history as a championship decider. Fantastic analysis, so much insight that only a veteran would know.
Alonso, Norris, Sainz, Russell, Verstappen and although he's fallen off the wagon a bit, Raikkonen, Tsunoda even too. Maybe Checo also. They all stand out to me this season as well for decent wheel to wheel racing.
That first lap at Silverstone before the crash was insanely good, you could tell Hamilton was desperate to win at home and get closer in the championship, while Verstappen was not wielding at all, painting a perfect picture of what the season has been like between the two...
@@jasperschlief He literally said he like the part where they were coming together. Basically the part where Max was taken out.. He also didn't say before the incident, he said before the crash.
@@decasperr before the crash meant before the incident, I am a Max fan why would I want him or any other driver to get hurt? What you are saying does not make sense mate
His honesty about his frame of mind is both appreciated and insightful. You don't often hear high level athletes talk openly about their weaknesses. I found myself thinking that young Mr. Rosberg must know quite a lot about who he is through his experience behind the wheel. What a fascinating video. I came to learn a track from a pro, and ended up with questions about myself and my growth (even in mid life). I really appreciate that. Thanks Nico. Subscribed.
My favourite wheel-to-wheel action was by far Lewis vs Fernando in Hungary. Without Alonso's mammoth defence, Esteban wouldn't be a grand prix winner, simply as.
Perez and Hamilton in Turkey was the best wheel to wheel action I have seen this season. Why? 1. It was on tough wet conditions 2. It went on for 3 corners 3. Incredibly important for title race
Hamilton and Verstappen at Silverstone was something to remember. It was real wheel-wheel racing. The crash definitely made the title fight what it is.
The best wheel to wheel battle in my opinion was Hamilton vs Perez. Perez stood his ground even after being pushed wide into the last corner and took back the position under braking despite being slower in a straight line. Also I put this before any other because turkey is a track where there are over taking opportunities and defending there is not as easy as some the other great battles which happened this season. ie Hamilton vs Alonso
My favourite was Alonso holding up Hamilton for that Ocon win. It was honestly so good seeing those two battle it out again and the fact he undoubtedly helped his team win was great.
Can’t deny that Alonso vs. Hamilton wheel to wheel in Hungary was incredible. Seeing these two have a fight like this once again! I felt like I was in the car, battling with them. That was crazy !
3:55 When you explained the braking point, was awesome listening to. I actually Never thought about it that way, and it really makes you appreciate when a driver nails the braking. Also makes you understand how Bottas felt in Hungary
My favourite wheel-to-wheel actions this year was Alonso with the iceman Kimmi at Austin. It was intense and it almost seemed like they were gonna crash. Just imagine the two living legends crashing at such an amazing track. Love your videos Nico and I admire you a lot :)
Alonso defending vs Lewis Hungarian gp was my favourite. Considering that Mercedes is so much better car than Alpine this was just phenomenal from Alonso and also helping his teammate to get the victory.
Loved watching Kimi and Fernando go at it in Austin a few weeks ago. Especially with Kimi stepping away, always great to see two legends going head to head
Just noticed how Nico moves his head around when going through the corners, his body goes full racing mode, look how even his face goes into Beast mode. Einfach toll!
I noticed the same about his elbow positioning and how he returns to home base with his spine and elbows in full complete alignment. Nico is soooo under rated
Hamilton Vs versappen in Silverstone, I think one of the most beautiful weel to weel battle I've ever seen in my entire life in which you weren't able to know who would be the leader after each corner. I think the crash could not be avoided because both were pushing so hard but the battle was🤯.
I'm a South African Nico. I used not to like you because you were a rivalry to Lewis. I'm now your big fan. I like the fact that you empower us around this sport. Keep doing the good work my Brother !!
Top wheel to wheel battle for me was the hard fight at Silverstone Race - Verstappen and Hamilton were absolutely amazing. Battling all the way up to Corpse and allthough Verstappen crashed, when I think about 2021 Season, I think about how they were so close side by side at the Wellington straight ----> THIS is pure motorsport spirit !
100% my favourite wheel to wheel racing moment this year was Max and Mick at Hungary boecose Mick hadn’t really had a good weekend yet and he showed his skill against Max and it shows that no matter how bad the car is Mick can be really good and it wasn’t a really easy overtake from a red bull on a haas that a lot of poeple thought and Max had to work for it and he did a good move and it was great defending from Mick!
My favorite wheel-to-wheel battle this year still has to be Alonso VS. Hamilton in Hungary. The way Alonso defended was crucial for Ocon, because if Hamilton got past almost instantly there probably was a very high chance Ocon couldn’t have won!
Love these videos. Having Nicos technical insight (and at such a personable level) for every corner, bump, and nuance of each track is brilliant. Love this channel, quality content as always :)
The first lap of Silverstone was simply incredibile, astonishing. I remeber screaming in joy at one moment and just after that seeing Max in the wall, which made my heart stop conserning his health conditions. But man, that fist one minute was just... WOW
Favorite wheel-wheel action? Its a tie between Russel and Alonso for P10, and Alonso and Lewis to hold him up from catching Ocon. Absolutely fantastic driving from his "rookie" year in F1 from Alonso!
Favourite wheel to wheel : Daniel, Carlos and Lando at Austin. It was amazing to watch with three cars wide and also Charles ahead and it had such high probability of going wrong, but was super clean.
My favourite wheel to wheel action this year was around Silverstone Lap 1, I hate the outcome and feel sorry for Max but damn the amount of racing in that single had me sitting at the edge of my seat. It was so epic to see and really showed how good they both are.
My favorite wheel to wheel action on track this season has to be Alonso and Hamilton. All I can remember is watching it with my family and all of us screaming at the TV in pure excitement! It was true pure beautiful racing. Absolutely loved it.
My favorite wheel to wheel battle has to be that one where Mazepin was fighting with his front wheels against his rear wheels! Always entertaining to watch!
Favorite wheel-to-wheel has to be Hamilton & Perez's battle during the Turkish GP. They both respected each other to hold it on the limit for like a quarter of the lap.
The Turkish GP. Hamilton vs Sergio Perez wheel-to-wheel racing from the final corners into turn 1. OMG! I was at the edge of my seat, rewinding again, and again, and again! Hamilton gave him the space on the inside but then for the next turn it seems as if Hamilton understeers towards the outside, cutting Perez off. This forced Checo to cut the pit lane entry and awkwardly take the inside line towards the last turn as they run side-by-side towards turn 1. Hamilton has the outside line for turn 1 and seems to have the speed and acceleration advantage as he slowly moves ahead of Perez, but Checo has the inside line and brakes a bit later and re-overtakes Hamilton. Beautiful racing that really highlights how amazing this sport can be. The fact that they were also running the intermediate tyres on a partially wet track made me appreciate it even more. p.s. Great video Nico! As always. I'm now officially a subscriber. p.p.s. I really miss that Honda tribute livery.
Favorite wheel to wheel moment was definitely Alonso and Hamilton at Hungary. There was multiple cases of "He's got him now" but Alonso STILL kept him at bay. It was amazing.
My favorite HAS to be Alonso defending Lewis at the Hungarian GP. Alonso, although in most races is unable to compete for the top spots, brilliantly enabled Esteban Ocon to take P1 with his defense of Lewis. Unbelievable drive and totally selfless.
My favourite wheel to wheel battle was the battle of multi world champions i.e. of Fernando and Lewis at the Hungarian GP. Reminds of good old day battles between the two, phenomenal defending by Alonso on a much slower car and amazing attack by Lewis to come ahead.
For me the best action was Verstappen vs Hamilton in Silverstone. From the first corner they were going so fast and exchanging positions but, Max after every move, managed to stay ahead. Until he didn't.
i have noticed that Rosberg Jr is talking about a very important thing, that i never heard other drivers talk about, and Rosberg is spot on right, it has so much to do with you psychological health to perform on top and dont make mistakes..
Hamilton Vs Alonso. Alonso defending a much faster car to buy some time for his teammate so that Ocon can win the GP. That has to be my favorite action this year. It was a perfect mixture of great racecraft, teamwork, and experience.

Despite there being a lot of amazing wheel to wheel battles this year, i've got to say that duel between Max and Lewis in the opening lap of the british GP was on a whole other level,. Such a shame that in ended up like it did.
Checo vs Lewis was definitely like my favorite one this year. I love Checo but you definitely can't deny he's had a rough year at times but at other times he's showed what he's capable of, putting up a good defense against Lewis in Baku too, before the restart. Best wheel-to-wheel action so far was at the opening lap at COTA between Sainz, Ricciardo and Norris. Didn't last long but was intense and fun to watch.
Hungoring with Alonso defending Hamilton was definitely amazing, but The Brazilian Grand Prix was by far my favorite so far. Especially because this was Hamilton’s greatest drive in YEARS
George Russell vs Fernando Alonso in Austria was so good, even though it wasn't for points the battle was epic. Both drivers gave each other respect and both drivers used amazing race craft.
My favorite whee to wheel would have to be at silverstone. Lewis going on the inside of Max trying to overtakle and boom, 50g crash happens. It will go down as one of the biggest crashes in F1 (Where noone got hurt (thankfully)) The sheer speed of how fast it happened still amazes me to this day.
I love these videos. I hope nico knows that there are a lot of us who take notes and love to watch and listen and try it ourselves before every f1 race weekend
My favourite wheel to wheel battle this year was Alonso Vs Lewis in Hungarian Grand Prix. That was such a brilliant driving from Alonso and along with it Nico commentating the entire battle was something very hard to forget and easy to watch a hundred times.
I love the explanation about turn 1.I was always surprised when the race leader botches turn 1 and loses places not knowing how easy it is to actually mess it up.
My favorite wheel to wheel action was lewis and max in silverstone before the crash, the two championship protagonists going head to head for some high speed corners unfortunately it was short lived due to the crash but the start was some of the most exciting action all year in F1 especially due to the sheer fact that they are the two best on the grid.
Very hard choice because we've seen some amazing battles this year. Sergio holding off Lewis at CotA was absolutely beautiful but Alonso's defense in Hungary against Lewis was a masterclass. We've been spoiled this year with so many epic moments
My favourite wheel-wheel action this year was the first half of the silverstone lap 1 because it was so intense and the commentary from Croft’s and Martin brindle + the camera work was top tier

So crazy to see Rubens and Nico giving advices on the same track this week and noticing that they pretty much taught the same. Just a lot of experience on those guys
Favourite wheel to wheel action this year has to be Fernando's magical defense on Lewis in Hungary
My favourite was Baku between Leclerc and Gasly after the restart Awesome to see two friends battling wheel to wheel for that long
I’m sorry Nico, but one of the best overtaking moves I’ve seen at Brazil was in 2016 when Verstappen went around you on the outside.
For me, top overtaking moment has to be in Paul Ricard (unpopular I’m sure) when the two McLarens consecutively overtook Alonso 🧡
Love these every week!! 🏎
Lewis seems to have taken more of a hit mentally, being behind in the championship, than Max has in the front.
My favourite was actually Alonso v George in Austria, precisely because they managed to go wheel to wheel and keep it fair around corners where others couldn’t seem to do the same (Norris, Perez, Leclerc)
