Pros: public transportation system, beaches, harbor attractions, zoos, Blue Mountains, ethnic restaurants. Cons: public transportation (yes, on both lists. Standing room only at times, buses not showing up, subway closed on weekends). More cons: very crowded, people unfriendly, expensive.

Spiders and snakes yes are dangerous if bitten but its very rare to get bitten let alone come across one. Even if you did happen to be bitten there's antivenom in our hospitals and the health system is free mostly for a lot of things. So really the wildlife here is so exaggerated being deadly or dangerous.

unless you go to far north queensland and start walking through sugar cane plantation with shorts and just start kicking and thrashing through the stems which is very very silly you may come across a taipan eventually. You practically have to be a complete idiot. snakes here are not looking for contact with humans.

speaking of wildlife , my brother used to live in a country area, he went out one day and left the bacjk door open. when he got home he found his horse in the house . took him a while to back it out . ha ha !!

You have got the voting thing wrong. We voted NO because we didn't want a divided society. Its nothing to do with what you said. If you look into more it's more than not having a seat in parliament. We already have Aboriginals who are in parliament and Aboriginal people who are responsible for their affairs etc.

A divided society is what NZ has and I've seen how it plays out first hand. So it's a NO.

Yes. And we have seen aboriginal communities in need ripped off by their leaders who gave themselves a rich lifestyle at the expense of poor aborigines in remote areas.
Also the current aboriginal activists hide the dire domestic violence and child rape happening in aboriginal communities because its bad optics. They try to sweep it under the rug and claim excessive incarceration of aboriginal people instead of siding with the victims.
There needs to be reality check to begin to solve problems. This is not covered by most media but Aussies know.

I know this vid is a month old from as this comment, It really is telling how uneducated overseas travellers can't see the grand history of Australia.
For example the Aboriginal pyramids and the astonishing ancient hand crafted aquifers like the Murray River .

Well yeah if you're living in Mosman and hanging in Bondi, Manly, Coogee etc. of course you're gonna think Sydney is overrun by expats 😂 Travel literally anywhere west of the CBD (except Newtown) & there you'll find your local Aussie mates.
Do yourself a favour and go to the Rhodes parkrun - you're guaranteed to meet hundreds of locals.

Australia doesnt have a long history of European culture because we are a young country who are busy creating our own history, indigineous people have been here for 65,000 years to put that in perspective they were here 55,000 years before Stonehenge was even built. The referendum was nothing to do with aboriginal representation in parliament they already have that and there are aboriginal members. Most Australians are actually in favour of better treatment of indigineous people but what was proposed was to change the constitution so that one group of people would be treated differently to everyone else and that wasnt seen as bringing races together but creating more division. You shouldnt make comments on political issues that you dont fully understand it was pretty harsh calling more than 60% of the voting population backward thinking. Distance from the rest of the world is more an issue for expats with their communications or the cost of going home its not such a big deal for Australians we are pretty used to long distance travel. It no longer takes months on a sailing ship you can just about get anywhere in a day and jet lag is way better than the sea sickness or the danger of being ship wrecked that prevuios generations had. The only con I really agree with you on is the last one its about time the government started reducing the number of immigrants that they are letting into the country we have a population of only 26 million we cant continue taking such high numbers and maintain the same standard of living...

The wildlife is without a doubt a pro not a con. Almost every day I see a cool bird, marsupial or reptile on my walks. The risk of dying from an animal is virtually zero.

Australia is a land of immigrants and has been since the gold rushes of the 1850s and beyond. So I think you are getting the true Aussie experience, not the stereotypical one.

There are many claims that houses are expensive in Sydney, however, every house for sale is being bought ... clearly, there are people who have the funds .. houses are not being left for sale .. they are all being bought.
