I actually did an excersize about 2 days ago where I worked out that my major core value is to "help people" or what you term "service" , and I only realized it was when someone refused my help and I got upset about it. It got me thinking why is was such a big issue for me, then it made sense.

Good idea to take such an internal inventory every once in a while. My core values moved around over the decades. At nearly 70, living my most exhuberant life yet, the list is like this:
    Achievement
    Autonomy
    Creativity
    Learning
    Wisdom
    Self- respect

Hello Vanessa, I hope the family is doing well, also the new baby with holiday is coming up ….first Christmas.
I truly enjoyed this video post. Core values is so important.
I choose self-respect, learning, love, empathy, curiosity
It was challenging, but as you said, what are the core values. Kindness is a branch from love. From learning, we receive knowledge and growth from curiosity we receive creativity.
With self-respect for ourselves as a core, we can have respect for others, along with honesty, service, responsibility, honesty.
When we recognize core values as our identity, we lead better lives.
Thank you. Looking forward to all your forthcoming valuable information.

I just quit my job because they were very tied to the company core values but mine did not fit. They were great, but not for me. I am having difficulty determining achievement vs success.
    1. Achievement/ Success
    2. Adventure
    3. Autonomy
    4. Influence
    5. Service

  • @nodozhit

Those were all great, for the most part, but I have my own style that works well for me. I aim for agency, assurance, accountability, acceptance, and autonomy.
I even have my own acronymic aphorism for keeping my affirmations in perspective. I call it ALL ADD. I am here to- Add value. Lead by example. Learn from mistakes. Answer my call to action. Develop an excellent work ethic. Define what I do want.
I chose ALL because because, at its core, it is inclusive; and ADD because it is positive.

Hi, Can you give an example of a person whose value is empathy, authenticity?
What is the difference between the fairness value and the justice value? Can curiosity be considered a sub-value within learning?

    • @ScienceOfPeople
      @ScienceOfPeople  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great questions!
      1) One example of a person who values empathy and authenticity is Barack Obama.
      2) While justice usually has been used with reference to a standard of rightness, fairness often has been used with regard to an ability to judge without reference to one's feelings or interests; fairness has also been used to refer to the ability to make judgments that are not overly general but that are concrete and specific to a particular case.
      3) Yes, curiosity can be considered a sub-value within learning.

Great question! Yes, it’s possible to switch to your ideal core values. However, it may require deep self-reflection, personal growth, and daily practice to rewire old habits. Personal development and shifting your priorities in life can help you change your values to be more aligned with the best version of yourself. ❤
