If you’re familiar with game sharing on the PS5 it’s the same exact way. You may have to do a factory reset of both oculus because it want recognize that you turned of app sharing on the original one
Hi, thank you for this wonderful video, it explained very well, only at 2:27’ you mentioned disable account, that part I don’t understand, that’s the last step you explained. Can you please explain it again? Thank you so much!
The setting for app sharing it's a toggle that can only be turned on on one quest at a time. If you try to turn it on and get an error it probably means you need to go to your other Quest and turn it off there first.
I have followed this guide and it seems to have worked but I was wondering if there is a way to automatically log into the secondary account by default each time rather than having to select it as it always prompts me to log into the primary.
Awesome video!! Quick question. The scenario used is great. However, for me, the person vr that id like to share my games with lives in another state. The question is, is the process the same? Do I have to tell the other person to reset their headset? Do I need to have access to their email or have be in the same room to recieve the code to implement them on to gamesharing? I guess thats like 5 questions lol. I look forward to your response.
Sorry for the delayed response. I hope you got figured out but yes the process is the same. You will need to work with them for the login process as they will need to enter the device code into their meta app. Who had to reset their headset depends on who you want to have as the main account
Funny story… there isn’t one. Well yet. Life came along and got in the way and then Meta made a bunch of changes to things and so it’s still in the works! Glad you liked this one though!
@Devedaner Thanks for making this video, it was clear and easy to understand. However I did have one question about the current Quest 3 promo with Batman as a free game, is that game tied to the first account that activates the new headset or is there a way I can also redeem the game on my primary account and not have it tied to my wifes account before doing the factory reset? If this is the case and it's tied to her account how would I play it from my main account?
Damn, now I'm curious about that too. Have you learned anything on how to proceed with that? I've got a Q3 and I'm getting a Q3S for my Nephew so I want to share my games with him.
The game license will go to whatever account first has the headset. Once it’s been redeemed on that account you can factory reset the headset and attach it to another account if you want.
I have two Oculus 2 headsets, both have me as the Primary, and I bought all games/apps through my account. I added my two sons as secondary with sharing on first headset. This worked fine for headset one. I then disabled sharing on headset one, and enabled on headset two. I was able to share the apps/games on headset two for myself and both sons. My issue is now headset one only shows the initial install games for the secondary users (no purchased games)?!? My goal is for any of the three of us to play any of the purchased games across both headsets; what am I missing?
Sorry for late reply. I'm a little confused but you cannot have sharing turned on both headsets at the same time. Only the one with sharing turned on will have the games accessible to secondary accounts.
Great video! So just to clarify, if i want to get the referral credit on the new quest, does Trisha setup the new Quest first, accept the referral as per the end of the video, then complete factory reset. Then follow all the steps from the start of the video with johns account, app share etc then add Trisha with the newly created account that now has the referral credit? Just want to make sure we set up our new Quest 3 in the correct order... Thanks
How about eleven vr? I have a Meta 2 and Meta 3 and would like to play Eleven VR with my son. Must I create two accounts, the existing one and that of my son, and then purchase Eleven VR twice to play against each other?
Great@@Devedander But must I reset my meta 2 to factory reset for sharing games? My situation is my account is primary meta 3 (all the games) and meta 2 is my old vr heatset
@@2475melba The primary account (the one with all the games purchased on it) must be primary on both headsets. If it's not, you will have to factory reset the one on which it's not to make it primary.
Hey there! I found this is pretty clear up until 2 mins 20 sec(ish). After John is set up as Primary user on the Quest 3, Trisha as the Secondary and app sharing is enabled, does Trisha then have to log in to the Quest 3 or John or...? I haven't tried this yet, but it feels like a step is missing.
Either. But if John logs in he can't play the same game at the same time on the Quest 2. So for game sharing it's best if Tricia logs in on Quest 3 and John on the Quest 2
Thank you for the video. Question for understanding: That way I should always buy my games at the primary account, because with this setup it is still not possible for the primary to play the secondarys games, right?

Can you confirm that the referral credit on the second headset would basically be useless once the 2nd headset is factory reset or is there a way to still use it?
Yes only 1 primary can share, 2,3 only use share games from primary, you have to login with the primary to 2,3 headset then login to the second account of each user their own account to. FYI.. only buy games from the primary account only, if buying from other accounts can't share games.
You will need to buy one for 1 copy of each game your want to play simultaneously for each pair of headsets. 1-2 headsets one copy. 3-4 headsets 2 copies etc
After all of this can Trisha become the primary user on John’s headset and allow him to play any games that his wife purchases? So then every game is then shareable across all devices?

No. You have to have different accounts for each headset playing at the same time. Gorilla tag is free though so you can get it on a second account easily.

you can not play multiplayer games like Walkabout Mini-golf like this - after hours of trying I just broke down and bought it and created a new primary account
That’s correct. You can’t play co op or multi player unless you buy a second copy of the game for the majority of games. But you can buy solo games once and use on multiple accounts and devices
I have been trying to get my wife's device to share my games and running into roadblocks. Great job explaining this. I'll give it a shot. Only the primary can share their library.
Hi, question; If Trisha is added to the new headset after John; is Trisha adding herself using her own Meta account; or is she a second user on Johns Meta account? sorry if this question is dumb, we havent got the second headset yet but its arriving today! thanks ;-)
Not a dumb question at all! Every user on a Quest must have their own meta account.
Very Neat 👌👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice video 😄
Thanks!
you can not play multiplayer games like Walkabout Mini-golf like this - after hours of trying I just broke down and bought it and created a new primary account
That’s correct. You can’t play co op or multi player unless you buy a second copy of the game for the majority of games. But you can buy solo games once and use on multiple accounts and devices
This is incorrect. I play walk about like this regularly. There must be an issue with your setup.
I have been trying to get my wife's device to share my games and running into roadblocks. Great job explaining this. I'll give it a shot. For the games that need to be purchased for both devices to be played with each other like Golf+, will I still be able to buy Golf+ on her account to use for the Quest 3?
Sorry for the delayed response. I don't think you need to buy golf + twice. There are very very few games that still have this requirement.
I have the situation of having two people with existing accounts hoping to share their libraries. If you could make that video on that topic like you had mentioned, that would be great. Thanks
It’s coming up!
Were you able to figure this out?
Watching for this, too...
Any updates on this? We have two now, made sure to get the referral credit then reset it to the main account. Now bot have the same primary account. Would be nice to be able to share all games across devices. Especially since Batman is linked to the first registered owner.
You should have shown how to do this with the actual menu. Personally, so far I find the UX abysmal.
Unfortunately they update menu UI so often showing the menu steps would be outdated really quickly.
@@Devedander Well, that makes sense. If they don't iron out the UX (and UI) on VR, it will never go mainstream. I have been fighting with complex UX and all kids of software errors for two days. It's a pity because once you do get to play games like Half-life Alyx the experience is unbelievable compared to flat games
Thank you for sharing!!! Especially since I absolutely repel technology! So if I understood it, you’re doing great..
That's serious praise! Thank You!
Can you share a supernatural subscription? lol :D
My exact question! Let me know once you find out 😅
Sorry for the late response. No. It's tied to the user.
TH-cam isn’t letting me edit that post for some reason but there is just a typo in the web address. It’s supposed to be “auth” not auto
I'm not seeing the post your referring to.... Was it on this video?

Awful music!
