I love you recipes, you explain so simple. It is So helpful, married with a Vietnamese I cook some of your recipes and my husband love it 😊 Thank you so much
I finally got to try this recipe last night. It was a hit with my husband and daughter. Completely agree that the combination of savory filling and sweet ginger syrup brings these glutinous balls to a whole new level.
This is one of my favorite desserts, my mom makes the universal sweet coconut sauce for it, and its... so good!!! I will be making this! Thank you for sharing Helen!
You might even want to try mochi!!! There are many versions but mainly two, a traditional Japanese style rice dessert filled with red azuki beans, or a modern mochi that is the same sweetened, glutinous rice ball, but filled with ice cream!!!
I love the way you cook the filling -- Mung beans cooked in the rice cooking ! So fast and easy ! To have mung bean filling for the Tang Yuan, we called, is new and interesting as we add in Black Sesame seeds filling. Is good to learn something new from other countries. We cook the syrup with Pandan leaves , ginger. Thanks for sharing Helen ! Have a nice day !

Hi there! Glutinous rice balls can become a bit harder overnight. To reheat them, you can simply place them in a steamer for a few minutes until they become soft and warm again. Enjoy! 😊🍡
Congrats on the success :) Sorry I wasn't able to advise abt the pumpkin puree as I have never tried it before. For your Cau Lau request... I wish I can get hold of the Cao Lau Noodle some day T_T
My favorite sweet "soup" dessert!! So delicious!! When I made these growing up, we never used fried shallots. My sister-in-law from Northern Vietnam, makes it with fried green onions and that's really tasty! I love the little balls made over from the leftover dough. I've never seen the small balls with the sugar cubes in them, though. Oh, you forgot to put coconut milk in your bowl at the end. :)
Thanks helen so much for making these famous vietnamese dishes known to the world. Please keep these awesome videos coming. By the way, I have a question. I want to mix pureed pumpkin in the dough, but not sure what the ratio of flour, pumpkin, and liquid should be. What do you suggest? Oh, and by the way, can you make a video on Cao Lau? Thank you.
