ASICS is the best brand on the market right now. From a walking shoe to a race day shoe and everything in the middle, they have the best lineup on the market.
In terms of durability as well
A couple years back I would have said not true Nike is still the king of the running game. But I have to agree Asics is the best in the business right now (coming from a Nike guy myself) I bought a pair of Nimbus 25 earlier this year and instantly became a fan of the brand. Just bought a lightly used pair of the Glideride 3’s, can’t wait to try them on. Keep it going Asics!
Puma is up there as well.
@@ax23xrNike have become very lazy in running imho. Aside from their flagship super shoe.....their line up is uneven, and unfocused. Nike has been coasting on their brand equity for a while now.
And yes ...the Gel Nimbus 25s are really damn good shoes. Look good, modern, and are super comfy.
Definitely. ASICS has to be commended for totally turning it around. About four years ago they were about as cool as herpes. They were considered old fashioned, out of date, dad brand, stuck in the past, and duller than dish water. Now they are seen as innovative, modern, forward thinking, dare I say exciting......and say it ever so quietly......almost cool. Especially with how trendy their street fashion shoes and Onitsuka Tiger brand are becoming these days. But for sure their overall running line up is 2nd to none.
Novablast 3 TR is criminally under the radar. Not a full on trail shoe but just a Novablast 3 with an outsole that has better grip/versatility/durability. Wish there were more colorways of it.
my shoes of the year by far
Yes the trail novablast best ever
Just got my first nimbus 25, and good lord its so soft. I overpronate just the slightest bit and the extra wide base helps me not collapse on my stride. I rotate the nimbus and tempus depending on my run. Great vid!
Superblast all day, everyday. 🙌
Great video! As an Asics fan this is a must watch!
Great video !
Re: the Novablast outsole
- they have a “TR” version with better grip - also available now on nimbus and cumulus.
Super excited for superblast v2… v1 getting me through so much of my NYC training
I’ve always been an ASICS fan, but when I took a break from racing between 2016 and 2022, it was like coming back to a totally different brand (not mad about it)!
Current rotation:
Gel-Nimbus 25 - recovery
Novablast 3 - easy
Magic speed - workouts
Superblast - long/tempo
Metaspeed Sky+ - race
Considering the Trabuco Max 2 for trails/snowy conditions this winter, and looking forward to the new updates!
WOW! Exactly my line up.
I have had the Trabuco Max 2 for the last 6 months. Love them. The ASICS grip is fantastic.
the Superblast and the Novablast are both totally amazing, best daily/all-around trainers period
I don't run but I walk trails and fish ponds in the midwest. I also go to the gym. I bought a pair of Fuji Lites that I wore to do, well everything and now I have 4 pair. I like the low heel/toe drop and the little bit of cushion. As I said, I don't run, but I really enjoy this channel and your emails.
Thanks guys!!
I love the Novablast 3 as a daily trainer.
I have the Superblast, great shoe! I also have the TM2 and man on the trails its brilliant! I've not had any issues with it, no rolling ankles or anything just nice comfy miles. I'm surprised you didn't include the Fuji trail 2 in the lineup. Asics smashed it out the park in 2023 and I look forward to the new releases of the Novablast 4 and Superblast 2
I just got my second pair of Novablast 3's its so forgiving and easy on my joints, considering I'm 248lbs Cross Training athliete this is a no brainer for me to be competive at my Park Runs.
Asics have certainly become a great success story in a brand re-inventing itself and turning things around.
In what sense? What was the issue with asics before? (Genuine question, as I am fairly new to running and the gear that comes with it)
@@bondjam8 in a nutshell 1) much like Under Armour and Mizuno they totally missed the athleisure wear trend. They focused on performance and ended up being seen as a "dad" brand and simply not cool and not fashionable. 2) They had not innovated for a long time and were still relying on gel and the same designs which led to them being seen as old fashioned, and behind the curve compared to their competitors. Who were releasing super shoes that were helping athletes set new records.
@@Sabundy i got it now. thank for explaining it to me :)
Solid review of the Asics lineup 🙌🏻. I definitely agree that the Superblast is one of the best shoes out there right now. I really liked the Metaspeed Edge + for Boston last year. It felt more stable than the Sky for my stride (old guy shuffle). While I liked the Novablast 3, I shelved it and opted for the Glideride 3 most of the year. And it wasn’t mentioned, but you can’t forget about the Noosa 🔥
Why superblast?
@@alexanders4911The Superblast has FF Blast Turbo foam that is forgiving enough for easy days, but responsive enough for faster paces. The high stack height will help keep you from feeling beat up the next day.
For me, Magic Speed : Speedwork, Metapseed Edge+ : Racing, Glide Ride: Daily trainer. Didn't like Novablast felt like a slow max cushion. Noosa Tri like a faster harsher daily trainer. Getting Fuji Speed 2 soon for trail season. (Asics Fanboy)
Lol I just left the Asics store in New York thinking which one to get and I see this video. Good work! The clerk at the store said that the Nova blast 4 is coming out in November
Interesting information about the Asics 2023. Like to Meaghan, Thomas and Robbe. My vote goes to:
Long distance, easy run- Asics cumulus 25.
Race day- Asics magic speed 3.
Daily trainer - Asics Noosa tri 15.
A nice day for everyone. 🌞🏃🌞
No novablast 3? 🥲
@@lhprx4 Perhaps. I like Noosa tri 15.
I have the Metaspeed, magic sky and Novablast 3. Love every one of them. Also helps ASICS gives a discount to first responders.
Nimbus 25 - around 500k now and still feel great. Not fast, but stable and comfortable.
Hope you guys can soon review the Fujispeed 2 plated trail racer soon! I was a little disappointed it was not mentioned. Seems like a winner for shorter trail races.
I have the ASICS Trabuco Max 2 and it is the most amazing and super comfy running shoes that puts my other high end running shoes and race shoes to shame. And I love the 5mm drop of the Trabuco Max 2 cause it makes running feel very natural
Any chance you’d consider it a road to trail shoe or more strictly trail? Considering what to buy after really enjoying my Novablast Tr on roads and trails.
Looking forward to Adidas lineup after Asics, two of my fav. Thanks guys!
The novablast is a shoe I keep coming back to over the past few years, its great
Don't forget the best nimble and lightweight stability shoes on the market right now : Asics GT 2000 12 !
Novablast for long runs, evoride for speedwork, glideride for daily trainer 😊 I love asics... sound mind, sound body ftw
Been wear ASICS since the 1980’s. They have been my go to running shoes.
My entire rotation for my fall marathon has been Asics. Daily and recovery with Novablast 3, faster daily with evoride speed, speed/tempo with magic speed, long run with Superblast, and updated my trail recently with Fuji Speed 2.
It's so strange that the evoride speed has had so little attention
@macfin4862 right. I think it worked out even better than the magic speed for speed work when I didn't want carbon.
I have a pair of the Nimbus 25's and only use it for recovery runs. I'm waiting to see what ASICS brings out later this year or the next for a daily trainer. Until then, I'll stick to the Hoka Clifton 9.
I have the NovaBlast 1 & 2 and was going to get the 3 until I saw the Superblast but man it’s SO expensive and never in discount so hopefully it will be discounted soon 🤞🏼
Cumulus has 4e which fits my foot better than any other in the asics lineup (way better than 2e novablast), especially in the midfoot. It's a great soft workhorse trainer
Glad the Novas made the cut 😅 It’s my first time wearing ASICS and since they didn’t have the Superblasts in my size, I had to go for the Novablasts for my
3rd marathon coming up in 3 weeks. Maybe if I’m lucky enough to win a spot in the lottery for Berlin next year, I can get the Superblasts well in advance 😊
Love both shoes ❤️
For me, it's the Hyper Speed. Cheap, light and fast - can't beat it.
I need to try one Asics. ASAP..been using a different brand
You're a little dismissive of the Gel Cumulus 25 guys. Both my wife and daughter use them for recovery and long easy runs and love them. Lighter (and cheaper) than the Nimbus and a trainer that suits many whereas the Novablast is often a firm and in my view a dead feel after awhile. Anyway a view from the UK.
The upper on the Nimbus 25 is the most comfortable upper I have ever used
How about the Noosa Tri? Great shoe.
Can you please review the Asics Kinsei Max. It's been out for a while. And also notice, you've reviewed the Kinsei blast almost 2yrs ago. Wanted you're take on the differences on both shoe. Thanks.
Nice summary of the Asics line-up, I think you made a mistake with the Novablast 3 specs; according to Asics the stack height is: Heel height: 31mm Forefoot height: 23mm
Superblast and Nimbus 25. A versatile combination. Cost effective because its cheaper than buying 3 or 4 pairs of shoes. Or at least thats what I tell myself.
These are the two I have as well.
If you can actually keep yourself to buying two shoes... then you're not wrong! Unfortunately I'm a shoe-shop-aholic! 😂
Felt like the Cumulus 25 was on sale almost instantly. Can get it at a good price at a lot of places
Novablast 4 will release early December, Superblast 2 should be available July 2024 🙂 And yes, Asics is killing it!!
Asics and Saucony probably have the best lineup today.
Superblast the 🐐
Love your reviews! Confused on drop of trabuco Max2. At the beginning I saw 5mm and at the end I saw 8mm. Was the 5mm for the stability shoe before it? Thanks!
You haven't reviewed the Noosa Tri 15, right? Does that exist in a different part of the multiverse? A lot of people love it.
Written review on the site. It is the same shoe as the evoride- not one of our favorites
SUPERBLAST ALL DAY
Would it be fair to say that with Novablast (daily trainer), Superblast (high stack), Nimbus (max cushion recovery), and Magic Speed (super trainer), Asics now has the best option in each of the training categories?
You are not wrong
Yes
2:29 Superblast is really going to be updated before year end? It’s barely in stock rn, and I need it already lol. 8:21 Novablast update inbound too, which I feel confident about since the v3 is already on sale.
Nimbus 25 are just so comfortable
Agree 💯. I love mine. Most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn.
I put a lot of miles on the Glideride 3 …has that gone from the ASICS line forever? Is the Superblast the best now for their long run shoe?
Wonder if they’re going to restock the Superblast any time soon. I went to ASICS to use my birthday $10 off and there were no Superblasts in either my size or 1/2 size up or down. (What did I do instead? Got a pair of Novablasts on sale.)
I would love a pair of superblast but for some strange reason asics have only gone up to a size 12 uk where as they normally do a size 14 or 15. Very disappointed considering the comfort of this shoe like you say for doing everything 👍
How about the Kinsei Max?
I thought that the block of foam on the inside of the Kayano was softer not harder?
I picked up the Novablast 3 and in less than 100 miles I wore holes in the heels of both, I'm curious why you think that might be the case. The size was right, I'm a midfoot strider, and I've used the runner's loop at times so I'm not sure what happened.
noosa 15... :)
Anyone know if the ASICS Gel Excite is good for training/running or if it’s only for walking?
Sleeping on the EvoRide Speed. How dare you.
Never has a shoe got less attention!!
I loved Asics then it’s been nothing but problems with foot/ball slap and foot problems on 3 different models
Have you considered having Thomas say "It's Thomas and..." then Meaghan says "Meaghan from Believe in the Run" ? It would save you guys a little time at the start of each video.
I love the Novablast 3, but the heel is falling apart after 300 KM (hole) . A bit disappointing
What's a great race day ( marathon) shoe for a male -wide foot?
Check the website
Kick butt
Glideride 3?
How much does wearing insoles effect you think?
Do you think novablast 3 and nimbus 25 are similar enough where I don’t need both? Is it overkill to get both?
probably overkill to get both, though the nimbus is more of a long run/recovery shoe, much softer
For me:
Speedwork and Race pace: Superblast
Daily Trainer: Gel nimbus 25
I would like to get a dedicated race shoe but I'm not good enough for that 😂
Asics. Size 14s please on the faster shoes.
Guys, what is your winter running shoe pick from ASICS?
Which is the best for flat feet
From my research, Gel Kayano 30.
hated the NB3. superblast is fantastic
Noosa Tri...?
Are you the guy from Ozark?
The Cumulus is for when you need to walk your dog.
A sics connected to WHO every podiatrist around the globe recommends those very expensive shows 😏 sick world
These people are the Funniest Shoe Reviewer I've seen in a long time! No one can seem to Stay Still! Does Everyone on here have ADHD?!? Almost seems like the two guys smoked a big "dobby" before getting in front of the camera!!! The guy on the left is High as a Sky!! Except for the girl, she's the Only one that seems "normal" and not high on anything. Super entertaining to watch them try and articulate their words!! ;)
Noosa? :/
dunno why asics even bother to make speed shoes, they are never available in australia in any size.
Asics shoes obviously not selling, if you need to do a video like this, Asics perhaps knock back the price 1/4, keep Superblast high, the rest drop back, now and keep them there
😂😂😂😂😂😂......mate....please use something called the internet and do a basic information search. ASICS sales are not a secret. ASICS is a publicly traded company. Thus it has to by law report its earnings every financial quarter in detail (for investors). ASICS sales are very very good. ASICS has set sales and profit records for the last three financial quarters in a row. And the company's market cap has hit a new record for them. Don't take my word for it ...go look it up yourself . Just do a basic information search before you state complete falsehoods based on nothing more than your assumptions.
Never buy Asics shoes anymore. The mesh they use is just too weak and I always end up getting holes after couple of months even though I run on asphalt and the shoes are right size (my toes doesnt cause the holes). Asics warranty doesnt cover those holes in the mesh.
The day has come when 36 mm is low stack
