I'm loving these 3rd Strike character videos. The game has needed this for a long time. Hopefully people who haven't yet will be motivated to pick it up.

As a yang main- great vid! Yang is a character that seems simple on the surface, but can be pretty tricky to get right. For new players- close mp is a great punish tool, try to start rekkas with the lp version and then do the hp versions after confirming that it has hit, and sa2 gives you the most ex rekkas.
Don't you use light rekka to end cause it has the least recovery?
@@Eggroll3syep, it makes the first rekka safe on block and gives the third rekka better oki. Generally speaking, you want to always end in lp rekka
So the general flow is Rekka LP-HP-LP > MK command dash?
@@viniciusduarte3420 yep! Thats the general flow of the character, and a good basis for getting started with him. Work that into your muscle memory and learn from there
A big thing about Yang is he’s one of the few characters that gets dizzies incredibly consistently. Some characters like ken don’t get them that often and even the top 2 barely get them. Meaning Yang tends to win very fast if he gets 2 ex rekkas, which is why it’s the best ex in the game. It’s also why he tends to seem better than he really is at a glance because he’s capable of getting tons of damage off a couple of openings.
Yeah, him, Alex, SA3 Ryu, and SA3 Necro tend to be the most consistent stunners. (Although I am hesitant to call anything related to Alex consistent, lmao.)

Yang was always the cooler brother to me. Loved him in 3S and USFIV

I just wanted to say how much I really appreciate this channel. For the fighting game fan, TBS releases absolutely fantastic content.
Third Strike is a game I've wanted to play but found intimidating for a long time - a general breakdown of the games mechanics and basics in getting started would go so well with these amazing character breakdowns

You are right from A to Z. Back there, I wasn't such an analytical player ( 10~11 y.o) so I didn't Chun and Yun were the strongest characters … but Ken and Yang were my usual picks for two very entertainment-centered reasons: EASY TO USE & RUSHDOWN PLAYSTYLE IS HYPE. Thank you and collaborators for such a project !!!
Watching these character overviews helps me appreciate 3rd Strike even more. It was my first Street Fighter when I was younger (the version on PS2), but it was a non-competitive, single-player experience for me since I could only fight the CPU. Haven't played it since...

Yang is my favorite Character by far. Glad to partake in tournaments for jazzy circuit and still learning to this day. here in NYC
Loving this series! Personally I've been playing 3rd Strike since CPS3 emulator came around in the late 00's, but still this guide and videos are amazing for players of all levels.

Great overview! I only missed the mention of Yang's INSANE stun output. Good Yang will stun their oponents on almost every match, and that is something to be terrified about, because in practical terms, rounds are shorter vs him.
My favorite 3rd strike character. Just like his brother, he got style. Great video.
While yes, Yang can play many his matches in scenarios where Super art use can be largely ignored or not needed, SA2 (Tenshin Senkyuutai?) is the Super Art of choice as it works in harmony with his Target Combo (MP>HP>Back HP), is a decent (tho risky) reversal due to its 1frame startup, and its flexible 2 stock build which grants him alot of meter to burn thru for his offense. Great videos. Been enjoying them every morning before heading to work.
too bad the damage of the super itself is low for the meter
Yep, that's why we have SA2 selected for the majority of the video. Some specialists also go with SA3, but it's a not a patch on Yun's Genei Jin.
I love his SA1, but EX slashes are too good to ignore.

I was kick ass in my local arcade with this guy back then his rekka combos sounds like a demon was being summoned inside the cabinet
I'll still to this day never understand how Yun and Yang never made it into Street Fighter X Tekken. They are literally perfect to form a tag team and since they already had the models from SF4:AE, it wouldn't have been too much work to implement them.

I know you guys are going down the tier list, but I've never really feared Yang the way I fear Urien or even Akuma. I just always felt he was overrated. I would place him next to Ryu on the list tbh.
I think a super solid Yang is nearly as good as Ken. Very little in the way of bad match ups. Urien and Akuma are definitely scarier, but they're also a little more inconsistent in their overall gameplan.

Funny thing about Yun and Yang is that they quite literally were palette swaps in New Generation, with Yun getting his own moves in Second Impact. I don't think they had separate character slots in New Gen, I think you just pushed a punch or kick button for which ever one you wanted. It's weird that when I watch Third Strike, Yang seems to be a character nobody uses. I see a lot of characters better than him and a lot characters worse than him. You can go back through a decade of Third Strike content on Maximilian Dood's channel and hardly ever see Yun.
Other way around. It was Yang actually that got his own moves in 2nd Impact. Yun's tool kit remained largely the same in the 2I update with a few balance adjustments. Yes, in New Gen, they were simply palette swaps and even shared the same slot in the character select screen. There's a few Yang Specialists out there since the game's inception if you look around.

No, old game. It's the 3rd iteration of Street Fighter 3, 3rd strike.
But it's been popular lately due to it being a great game and due to easy online access via fightcade.

a simple request when street fighter 6 can you a roster overview with all the characters for session 1 I want to street playing street fighter better with that game and I feel a video going over the rosters for the early game would be amazing.

@@deceptionoce9716 1 - no infinite juggle (as shown in the video!) 2 - much less damage - 3 - doesn't have the super priority of Geneijin. It can still be nice in good hands and in some matchups but it's nowhere near
