He saw his parents were drowned and thought it was a beautiful sight and that stuck with him. He had a penchant for pottery and fish n shit, and that’s about it.
Ufotable did an amazing job with Muichiro’s mist breathing, the guy is a beast! I can see him becoming a hashira in 2 months! Rengoku still helping from the afterlife! Mitsuri’s music is just amazing! I just found it comical that Gyokko was talking about getting the fight over with so he can make a report for Muzan while his head is flying around like a soccer ball!
I have no idea how you thought the 300 year sword Haganezuka is sharpening was for Tokito? In episode 3 Tanjiro and Kotetsu smash open Yoriichi, they find the 300 year sword in it, Kotetsu decides Tanjiro should get it and Haganazuka comes and takes it and says he'll sharpen it for him. It's been a red thread through the entire season this far lol Kanamori also told them that he uses a special Haganezuka family secret sharpening technique that takes 3 days and 3 nights of constant uninterrupted work to finish and that people have DIED using this sharpening technique (since they, yknow... work constantly for 3 days and 3 nights)

Even though Muichiro made upper 5 look like a joke I think it's important to not overlook how strong the demon slayer mark is. Upper 5 even made a point in saying that he had the same mark on his face as the kid with the hanafuda earrings and that Muzan specifically made him a target. No spoilers obviously, but keep in mind that when the mark shows up on one of the demon slayers that they seem to be much stronger and faster. Even Muichiro stated that he felt "really in the zone" while the mark was active even though he did not seem to be aware of it.
If my math is correct. Muichiro is 14 so he lost his parents 4 years ago and his brother 3 years ago. Give or take 2+ year, tanjiro story ep 1 started. muichiros story happened a year before episode one so it’s super recent in that light. Kinda too soon lol

Tokito wasn't trained by Rengoku but Mitsuri actually was! Rengoku only trained her, there is an extra story about that. So that should tell you a bit about how strong she is!
For those who have doubts about how the power of demons and Hashiras scale. Upper Rank 5, yes, he is more powerful than Daki and Gyutaro. Tokito in his basic form he couldn't beat him, hence the boost of Tanshiro's mark. But ultimately. It seemed easy, but Upper Rank 5 is extremely powerful. Upper Rank 4, the same...At the level of Akaza I would say, only with an obvious weakness (The first 3 Upper Rank have no obvious weaknesses). Upper Rank 5 didn't have it either, the only way to beat him was to literally surpass him in strength/speed (Hence Tokito and his mark).
Well you gotta remember genya and Nezuko are there I know she said rescue but they seem able to fight still and plus upper 4 seems to have been fighting awhile already so there’s hope

In case you didn't realize...the mark that appeared on Muichiro's face makes him stronger...that's why taking out that upper moon seems easier than Uzui or Rengoku. Also doesn't mean Mitsuri will necessarily have an easy time just because she's fresh. Tanjiro was challenging an upper moon with the mark so a Harshira with it who's already uppermoon level at base would be absolutely cracked
possible spoilers so I'll just mark it. I've always been sad we never got to see how much stronger Tengen would be with the mark. But I'm okay with it since he got a happy ending.

Source from a commenter "mastouri edam" on another reaction video to this episode Gyokko's backstory was only mentioned in a textbook so Im gonna tell his backstory ( this is not a spoiler) : "when he was a human, managi (Gyokko's human name) lived in a fisherman's villgage where people would rather avoid him for being a weird kid, he was known for collecting dead fish and other strange activities that led him to be disliked by others and kept their distance from him. His parents had passed away from a drowning incident, something that he was fascinated by and found beautiful when he saw their bodies. At one point, a child approached and teased him, causing him to lash out and murder the child by stuffing them in a jar. The child's parents had found out and in a fit of rage, proceeded to stab Managi and left him to die. He was eventually approached by Muzan Kibutsuji and became his minion, turning into the demon Gyokko that later became Upper Rank Five. Since then, he would prey on the flesh of humans, specifically children, and modify his body to his very own liking.
Thre fight in Tokito ang Gyoko is almost easy only because Muichiro is so strong . He even kill a demon when he's 10 no fighting experience and became a hashira in only 2 months. Gyoko is not weak . He can kill muichiro instant in early episode but he decided to play around like a moron haha. But full strenght muichiro is in another level for sure.( Not all hashira is this strong ).

the mist hashira is a very expetional hashira, everyone else expect for the 3 above him are not beating any of the upper six (stone, wind, serpent are above)
They just expect every fight to be long and epic fights like uzui’s or rengoku’s fight, honestly this one sided massacre/roasting session was nice change of pace, muichiro is literally built different from the other hashira so far.

Gyokko's backstory was only mentioned in a textbook so Im gonna tell his backstory ( this is not a spoiler) :
"when he was a human, managi (Gyokko's human name) lived in a fisherman's villgage where people would rather avoid him for being a weird kid, he was known for collecting dead fish and other strange activities that led him to be disliked by others and kept their distance from him. His parents had passed away from a drowning incident, something that he was fascinated by and found beautiful when he saw their bodies. At one point, a child approached and teased him, causing him to lash out and murder the child by stuffing them in a jar. The child's parents had found out and in a fit of rage, proceeded to stab Managi and left him to die. He was eventually approached by Muzan Kibutsuji and became his minion, turning into the demon Gyokko that later became Upper Rank Five. Since then, he would prey on the flesh of humans, specifically children, and modify his body to his very own liking.

Thre fight in Tokito ang Gyoko is almost easy only because Muichiro is so strong . He even kill a demon when he's 10 no fighting experience and became a hashira in only 2 months.
Gyoko is not weak . He can kill muichiro instant in early episode but he decided to play around like a moron haha.

They just expect every fight to be long and epic fights like uzui’s or rengoku’s fight, honestly this one sided massacre/roasting session was nice change of pace, muichiro is literally built different from the other hashira so far.
