As a beginner, your technique of keeping the old fender material there and building the supports off of that seems a lot more repeatable. I don't have an english wheel so instead of stretching could I cut slits in the patch piece (like fish gills) to allow the metal to move but maintain the proper edges on both sides?
Why would you want to make a Camaro wider?. Would you be able to find a road or race track that it could fit on? Like most American cars it's 1/3rd bigger than it should be
