Thanks for posting 🙏. About to embark on same process same bike 😳. My 83 XR350 had a bit of kickback that can take the fun out of kickstarting 🤪🤔. Might be CDI or coil, 40 years old might have something to do with it? Thanks again 👍
I found a 1984 xr 200 with 75 orginal miles, dual carbs, has very hard time starting, almost like choke isnt working, il get around to working on it some time
Yea I just picked up a 84 xr250r dual carbs aswell, when I go to start it for the 1st time of the day I have the choke on prime the cylinder twice then it starts 1st kick. But if I shut it off it wont start I have to let it sit for 10-15mins before starting it again. Really frustrating I think I either need to clean or rebuild the carbs

I just picked up a 1983 and I love it! About to rebuild the carb and do a complete gasket replacement when the parts come in.

There's a link between the two carbs that comes loose in this video. He had to replace the part from another carb. That could be it.
