Well, this was very detailed and I feel like I could change the pump motor if I have to. Thanks for showing us. I did find that once I cleaned the filter and did a self clean, it works a lot better. My niece said my loads are probably too small so it was struggling with adding water to balance the load. I did forget to clean the filter that’s on the intake in the back so tomorrow’s project has already been decided for me lol Thanks again! 😊

My samsung washer, was 4 years old,and it sounded like my wife wask washing bricks.I determined it needed a drum bearing! Easy right, well you have to buy the entire drum assembly,$435! Well I only paid $625 for it when it was new so,out to the road it went! Still have the dryer,3 belts, and 3 elements later!

My 19 year old Duet washer pump went out and took me like 20 minutes to R&R it. Very easy to access to the pump by remove just the kick panel on the front bottom.

It’s far easier to grab the ring next to the spring and peel it off. You also don’t risk tearing the gray vinyl part.

Thank you. I my case there was a toonie (2$ Canadian coin) stuck behind the filter. The diameter of the coin is exactly the same as the inner diameter of the inlet to the filter case.

I bought a brand new Samsung washer dryer stack set less than a year ago, dryer started acting up first, watched some YT videos and the dryer needed the plugs going into a circuit board inside the dryer unplugged a plugged back in, had to do it twice but fixed that so far, now the washer is acting up, but thanks tp YT I figured out how to get it going again, now if I use liquid detergent it wont come on, also unplugging the washer and waiting about 10 seconds will get it going sometimes. I wish had done more research on Samsung! They need to jusr give up and stop making washer/dryers!

Replace it with something that doesn't say Samsung on it. Their appliances went downhill quickly and they don't honor their warranties. I replaced the guts of my washing machine (pump, motor, bearings, etc.), my dryer (heating element, bearings, etc), and would take a hair dryer to my fridge every 6 months to thaw the chiller channel. Replaced all of that with LG and we'll see how that goes.

Just did this a month ago myself....FYI, the little black hose with a white tab in the end (near the pump) is a drain....keeps the water from going everywhere.

Washer was making that sound and showing the same on the display. Like others said, cleaning the filter on the fron next to the pump was enough to get it right. Found a couple hair ties and small items was enough to clog it and shut it down

I didn't see much "diagnosing" here. When you said "it sounds like the pump is trying to work but it's not" I assume you meant you heard a buzzing sound like the drain pump was jammed by debris... similar to the sound that a jammed garbage disposer makes. Before replacing the drain pump (or a garbage disposer) I would first check whether it can be unjammed by clearing out any debris inside it.
If instead it sounds like the pump is operating, I would check for clogs in the drain filter (if there is one) and in the internal & external drain hoses. I fixed an old Maytag that wouldn't drain just by cleaning a clog out of the hose between the tub & pump. Clogs aren't uncommon.
Modern clothes washers have an easy-access filter to protect the rest of the drain hardware from clogs. If the filter gets clogged, it's easy to clean... and maybe you'll find some spare change there. (My old Maytag didn't have a filter, unfortunately.)
For many clothes washers, access to the drain hardware is through the back panel. Less labor.

I was thinking along the same lines... he said "that sound is the pump trying to bring water in" but later in the video correctly says "that sound is the pump trying to drain water out".
So basically he could have had a lot of debris in that cleanout filter where he drained the water out, and that might have been the fix for most people. In his case I am sure the actual pump was bad, but nonetheless

    • @brothermine2292
      @brothermine2292 ปีที่แล้ว

@@jaredvw : I couldn't tell whether his pump was broken or just jammed by debris. If he examined it, I must have missed that.

I had a repair guy come 3x for my washer. All he did was empty the trap and removed water from the spinning electric motor. The third time he said I would need a new pump 😮😮. I bet he knew that the first time. After being robbed with 3 service call bills I went online and ordered a pump. The troubleshooting instructions were under the bottom plate 😮 Easily replaced I never called him again 😂

Wait a second, what happened after the door hit lock? Mine works fine after the lock sound but it’s the unbalanced load that’s an issue for mine. Some days it’s fine, other days it goes wonky

This was a rarity. I'd say 99 times out of 100 when a washer isn't draining properly, you'll find a sock stuck in the impeller of the pump. It's usually families with small children whose tiny socks get swallowed by the drain pump. I tell them to use a garment bag when washing those tiny socks, it keeps them contained!

Yea I was going to include that part, checking the filter but wanted to keep the video very straight forward. Thanks for the input

I came to say good job to the poster, and wanted to share what I see you mentioned! Happened to me! Kids sock was stuck in the accordion-like black tube up stream of the pump. I replaced the pump, and then the problem came back. That's when I was able to feel that the tube was strange, and extracted a sock! Oh well, got familiar with my washer :) The garment bag is a great suggestion!
I'm new to your channel, just saw a video of you doing a diy sheet metal furnace box fab, and hope you have more videos on sheet metal and the tools I would need to get started.

To fix your Samsung front load washer pump....simply take the washer almost completely apart, and while apart, curse the day that you didn’t buy an LG front load washer, and then proceed to putting your machine back together.👍 There.....now wasn’t that fun?🙄
