Mr. Carter, your channel is a must reference for MM guitars! Your reviews of MM are considered as a buying guide to myself. Thank you very much for your efforts, they are not in vain, keep sharing. Best of the best in all your projects.
Thanks, I hear what you're suggesting here. Shame Cooper used such a crummy gain tone, check out the Jon Is Too Loud you tube, that guy knows his commercial gain sounds
I am a very proud owner of the EBMM Sabre, and it is my favorite guitar of all time! I've played seriously for about 36 years, and after playing this beast for about 30 minutes, it became my favorite guitar OF ALL TIME! Superb craftsmanship, playability, tone, and looks.
Extremely versatile sounding. I've hit it play chimey cleans, to great blues riffs all the way to HEAVY downtuned chugging metal riffs. I think Music Man hit a home run with this one. I hope once my local guitar shops open back up they have one in stock that I can try.
Cooper first off when I grow older I hope to play as well as you. I love the look of the Sabre especially the Honeysuckle finish. With that said my main guitar now is a JP15. I love the Piezo system and the overall playability of that guitar. Both guitars are at the same price point so other than the Honeysuckle finish (not available on the JP15) is there that much difference. I ask because I am looking at selling off some of my other guitars and either getting another JP15 but now I’m intrigued about the Sabre. What’s your thought?
Ward, I also own the JP-15 as well as the Sabre, Both guitars are extremely nice, and the craftsmanship, playability, looks, and tone are superb. I've also owned the EBMM JP-6, JP-XI, JP-12, JP-13, Luke 3, Majesty, and Cutlass, and with all things considered, the Sabre is unquestionably the most versatile and best tone of them all even though they are all world-class instruments. The playability of the Sabre is as easy and fast as any guitar that I have ever played, every bit as fast as the JP-15. And that roasted maple neck......! Even after owning it for a year now, I can play it for an hour and still have trouble wanting to put it down--it's that good (to me). Mine has the ebony fingerboard, but I'm sure the maple and rosewood fingerboards are equally as good.
What is the neck profile like? I owned a Musicman Luke for many years and the soft ‘V’ neck on that guitar was the best I’ve ever played. The Sabre is a beautiful guitar and I agree, I think Musicman produce some of the best guitars available. It would be interesting to hear how the Sabre sounds straight through an amp with distortion and / or with a clean amp setting and a distortion pedal because to be honest I was really disappointed with the distorted and high gain sounds, which for me sound ‘mushy’! This is purely down to my taste and probably due to it coming through a fractal. Great demo and playing.
I wonder, how’s the playability of the Sabre compared to the majesty and the jp15. I loved the feel of the majesty and the neck of the Jp15. I’ve no possibility to try one out. So, should I go with something I know or should I try something new ??
Daaaamn this looks and sounds incredible - I'm sorely tempted now. Does the maple fretboard have a finish on it? (Like, a satin finish like on Fender's maple fingerboards.) Or is it the same gunstock wax feel that's on the back of the neck?
At +$3000, it's going to be hard to justify dropping that kind of penny for what is essentially a super strat. Don't get me wrong though. I'd love to know what it is about the guitar that makes it alright to price it like this, when there are some Luke and JP BFR models that are around the same price, give or take a few hundreds. I'm not so taken in by terms like 'versatile' anymore, because to me, that sounds like this guitar is trying to be a lot of different things at the same time. I like my guitars to have a certain sonic identity.
Hey man, love your videos! Quick question: Which do you personally prefer and why: The Majesty or the Sabre? I'm torn on which one to get. Prog Metal/Jazz player here. Thanks again and keep up the great work!
Eh, they're both great and different. The Maj is definitely more geared for metal pickup wise. A bit more classic tone possible out of the Sabre. No piezo on the Sabre though.
Thanks for demo! Cooper, which guitar is more versatile do you think, jp15 or sabre (or PRS custom 24 piezo)? I want to buy a high-end guitar, but don't have a chance to play it in the store.
Cooper I'm kind of having a decision making crisis. I have the mariposa and a Jp15 7 string and I'm trying to decide whether I should get the Sabre or a Cutlass. What are your thoughts? I'm predominantly playing metal, doom and hard blues.
I would be happy with a plain version for a thousand less... Either would be a great, though, tbh. Edit: if I could have flame on just the neck or the body, but not both... I would choose the neck! That tiger striping on the headstock is sublime - and besides, I actually think a fender style poly paint finish would suit the body and overall look well. Like a Lake Placid Blue, Candy Apple Red, Sea Foam Green etc...
You need to look into a Carvin/Kiesel CT6 if you're looking for something this could well be based on - that can be had new for a thousand less or even more used.
I think this is more going after PRS than Gibson. This is a modern guitar rather than something based off a 60 year old design. Besides pricing there isn't a reason to compare this to a Gibson.
These guitars are visually stunning, and absolute works of art in their construction. However, 2 things are complete garbage (in my opinion, of course) - the latches on the case, and those god awful pickups!!! 😫

Best of the best in all your projects.
WOW. That is THE most stunning looking and sounding guitar I have ever seen. And it kicks ass.
Honestly i watch this again and again due to his playing. Awsome job.
Pos 1: PRS; Pos 2: Strat; Pos 3: 335; Pos 4: Tele; Pos 5: LP--All killer
Do you own one ?

Just ordered one of these beauties! Won’t be here until November 😮! Cannot wait!
Amazing work man, its made me even more excited for my cobra sabre to come in!
Position 2 for the win! Hope more Balls get wider nuts. Cooper is the best.
Cooper, Cooper, Cooper. Every time I watch one of your videos I buy a new guitar. Brilliant playing!
Awesome guitar, awesome demo. That studio is sooo clean.
best demo ever!!!!
Amazing Demo. Really just exactly what I wanted and in different styles. Great job!

The guy seems young to me! It's all relative, I guess..
@@lueysixty-six7300 he's being facetious, obviously.

The perfect guitar I dreamed of, but it is expensive for me.
I look forward to coming out the Sterling copy later.
You get every cent worth with the Music Man!
Brilliant guitar played by a brilliant player 👍👍
Gr8 demo. Can't decide between this one and suhr modern plus.
For this price range ... PRS would be my choice but I'm in love with this one from the video
That guitar is gorgeous.
Useful video - thanks man

There is nothing "mushy" sounding about a fractal Axe FX.
A nice guitar to do Rush covers in !
great demo !
Nice playing! Interesting guitars. And they do have SS frets. The Ernie Ball web page didn't say, but the Sweetwater Sound page does.
SRHmusic Yes they do

Amazing play! Really
I have not played one yet but I plan to own one ASAP!!!!
Great demo stellar playing , I’ve checked this guitar at GC , but I’m torn, should I buy this or a PRS Custom 24 ?
What is the tune from the clean section? Awesome playing throughout and thank you for a thorough demonstration!
Part of one of mine!
Very KingsX!
Love the overlay you did with the positions you were using. How did you do that? Also, great demo.
Daaaamn this looks and sounds incredible - I'm sorely tempted now.

Debating what's more polished, your playing or the Sabre..
Just AWESOME!!! WOWWWWWWW

Great demo and the intro song was killer. What was that??
I thought nothing sounded better than a Les Paul until I saw this :-)
Yes.
Excellent review. Is the upper fret access good and does it stay in tune with heavy trem use? Thanks.
@Cooper Carter I love that room, man. What are the middle set of speakers, please?
Hey man, love your videos! Quick question: Which do you personally prefer and why: The Majesty or the Sabre? I'm torn on which one to get. Prog Metal/Jazz player here. Thanks again and keep up the great work!
Eh, they're both great and different. The Maj is definitely more geared for metal pickup wise. A bit more classic tone possible out of the Sabre. No piezo on the Sabre though.
Cooper, what Amp and Effect pedals (if any) were you using in this video? Mainly for the High gain sounds.
It's all Axe-Fx III
Can you make a comparison between JP15 and Sabre please 🙏
Thanks for demo! Cooper, which guitar is more versatile do you think, jp15 or sabre (or PRS custom 24 piezo)? I want to buy a high-end guitar, but don't have a chance to play it in the store.
I'd vote for the Sabre for versatility
JP15 or Sabre, tough choice.
Cooper I'm kind of having a decision making crisis. I have the mariposa and a Jp15 7 string and I'm trying to decide whether I should get the Sabre or a Cutlass. What are your thoughts? I'm predominantly playing metal, doom and hard blues.
Sabre
Thanks man!
What’s the neck shape/profile ? Also, killer tone. Is that preset available on Axechange ?
Which tone and I can refer you to a factory preset. All my demos use factories.
Cooper Carter Your lead tone right around the 25 second mark.
HOW THE NECK OF THE SABRE COMPARES TO THE STINGRAY?
Which one do you like better the Mariposa or Sabre?
Sabre
I would be happy with a plain version for a thousand less...
Either would be a great, though, tbh.

Dude, your demos are always fantastic...its a shame you don’t/can’t diversify more....but hey, I get it!!!!!
So this is a Gibson rival understand this has a trem but...... In this day and age is it better? Who knows.... let us know.
It dont sound as full either. I've loved all the other reviews you have done cooper but this one didnt do it for me
I think this is more going after PRS than Gibson. This is a modern guitar rather than something based off a 60 year old design. Besides pricing there isn't a reason to compare this to a Gibson.
I don't even play guitar and I want one.
Sounded awesome until the higher gain bits, not that I don't like giving it some welly, but those tones were horrible
Ibanez already have a Sabre line for 30 years. So why use that name?
MusicMan Sabre 1 and 2 first came out in the seventies... ;-)
These guitars are visually stunning, and absolute works of art in their construction. However, 2 things are complete garbage (in my opinion, of course) - the latches on the case, and those god awful pickups!!! 😫
I’m pretty sure it’s pronounced Saab-ray
Now the parent company of Dunder Mifflin.
Is it just me or do guitars look better in tall peoples hands?
It's definitely you..
Are you are Sith
Excellent guitar. But not intuned.
How much did Ernie Ball pay for this commercial
