Nice review. Clear and concise and to the point. Thanks for the chapters. This is really good. Suggestion would be since you already have a spreadsheet showing please include PSI too? I don’t expect you to say the values but just to view for easy conversion would be nice. Anyway small suggestion thanks for this!!
I’ve got a Spectral 29 AL6 coming with a Lyrik Select + which has everything the Ultimate does minus the buttercups and ultimate bushings, looking forward as I’ve never had a high end fork, previously had a Yari.
Manitou forks are very easy to service and you can buy service kits without bigger problems. They also work really well. I have a few of the 2023 RS forks and while I think they are good I don't think they are better than a mezzer pro. The pressure valves and buttercups are mostly marketing IMO, without too much real world application. Comparing a used pike to a brand new lyrik, I am surprised you attributed the difference in feel to the buttercups. It could be a number of different things. It is however really nice that you like the new fork, and I think you made a pretty good rundown of the fork. Thanks for the vid! I don't think RS will ditch the lyrik for a longer travel Pike since the pike is supposed to be the lighter option compared to lyrik and has way less overlap of the stanchions on higher travel options. In the old days when Pike went to 160 it flexed a lot when pushing the fork even moderately. Think of it like the fox lineup, 32, 34.36 and 38. RS has sid, pike, lyrik and zeb.
I own a 35 mm and a 36 mm . After 1 month I couldn't switch to the heavier Fork fast Enough..... the Chatter in the 35 was Nuts 70 percent less with the 36s . I would only run a 36 personally . I have been riding longer than most people have been Alive 😎
If anyone has this fork in 29" & 150mm, can you tell me what you measure the axle to crown as? Rockshox says it should be 561mm but mine measures 571mm. Also my stanchion length is 160mm. I don't get it...
Interesting opinion. I found this fork (I have the exact same one) really bad in comparison to the previous years. For me it is NOT plush at all, but rather harsh. It is a pogo-stick for jumping and I cant bottom out regardless the drop or the jump with the suggested pressure. I cant use all the travel even with 10 PSI under the recommendation. Going lower in pressure it gets too soft in the mid-stroke. I wonder whether you are using all of the travel. I end up with all compression at full minus and running somewhere 5-10 PSI under recommended pressure. Very unhappy with this fork actually and will have to upgrade to the new 3.1 damper as soon, as it is available here in Italy. I found the old 2.1 ultimate versions of RS way better for everyday trail and enduro riding. For bike park it is a funny fork, but then I would probably rather look into a ZEB...

Would love to try those as well. Maybe one day if this channel gets views, it'll happen 😁
@@UnicornBikes one can hope, my fingers are crossed and I wish you good luck with it :)

@@darrinkulyk9560 There is more to a fork than stanchion diameter that determines chatter and ride quality.
Smaller The Fork The More Chatter ..... i Have Decades of Off Road Riding
Fantastic review.
So much more fun to make than computer videos 🎉
Hey, did you added 1 rockshox token in the fork because it was diving too much? Or…?
Awesome review, thanks for the information!🎉
