lol that does seem odd. But the reason is because the air spring seals inside the stanchion that’s how the air spring works. The lowers legs themselves aren’t air tight. Hence the reason for the bolts at the bottom
Do you have any brand recommendations for a 100 mm boost hub that this fork requires? I bought this fork and there was no indication that it was a boost fork?
If I adjust mine from 140 to 160 of travel how donyoubthen account for correct sag? I cant find this answer anywhere. Isnt the location of 30% sag going to change on the stansion? TIA
Hi, I have 2015 pike, 160/150mm of travel. Its on 65psi, im 80kg and I notice that i don't get 160mm travel at all no matter how hard I compress the fork. No tokens inside. Any help maybe??
Well I sorted out! Problem was, that I got only 120mm of travel on 160mm Pike stc3. So, I let out all the air, cycle the fork up an down to full travel, and in between when trying to compress, got some Cling sound, and fork easily dropped to 160mm of travel. No resistance. Must be some spring realign it's self or something.. Pump up the fork- totay different now on 1/3, smooth, and full 160mm of travel now.
You're instruction is excellent. I'll be book marking this for when I get around to doing my swap, Pike Ultimate 130 to 140. Thank you.
Thank you so much!!! I appreciate the feedback. Glad I could help
Everyone has already said it, but this is a great tutorial. Awesome job! Thank you
Thanks my dude
Very well explained, thanks!
No problem
Very helpful video, thanks.
No problem 🤙
great video...thank you....i have a RockShox Pike Ultimate Charger 2.1 RC2 150mm travel....would this be the same process to make it 140mm (reduce)?
Yes exactly the same thing🤘
Great explanation! 👌. Do you know if this can be done to a Pike Ultimate with Charger3 RC2 W/Buttercups?
I’m pretty sure yes
Helpfull video , can I change 140 to 120mm travel??? On this same fork ? Thank you for your answer
I believe so yes
i dont get how you added 3ml of oil in the top of the air side while the lowers were still off? wouldn't it just drain out?

Awesome work and a great video Erik👌. Thanks a lot for sharing and all the information. Have a nice weekend and ride on brother🤘
Thanks Chris. If we ride them we better know how to work on them 👍
Hi, i have the same fork, can you share where did you get the air spring? thanks
The lost co online bike shop
I have a pike but the stanchion only marks 130-140.
Can I change the travel to 150 regardless the stanchions marks?
Yes you can bud 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hi, can this procedure also be used for the 2023 model year
I’m not 100 percent sure but I’m assuming yes
can you use rockshox susp oil or must be maxima plush?
I believe you can on pre 2022 models. But the blush works for all
@@RydenDirty thanks for the rep

are you saying you need a boost fork or a boost hub. Mine is Boost. What kind of bike are you trying to put it on?

I’m not sure to be honest. I bet you could measure and just do the math with a measuring tool
@@RydenDirty just surprised I couldn't find this being addressed anywhere online.
@@myrick2636 well I know that on mine they have measurements for 130, 140, 150mm on the the stanchions
Will this be the same process for 2015 model?
Should be pretty close I’m assuming
