    Looking forward to the follow up of fitting the coil and how it feels

    ok, so wait a minute.... i'm trying to get my head round what's happening here. so you purchased an aftermarket, Lyrik Ultimate for the big bucks, and you did so knowing you were already going to convert it to coil?!?!?? why would you not have purchased the Lyrik Select for 60-70% the cost of the Ultimate, if you intend to coil it? the Ultimate is considered the best fork in the world by most reviewers.

      I wanted them in red with the RC2 damper, I prefer the way coil forks ride but Rockshox don't do the lyrik in coil yet and the great thing about SRAM/Rockshox is you can always find cheap deals if you can wait 6-8months after they come out.

    Something I never understood about forks: when we put pressure into it (according to rider's weight or the SAG method) we put air into only one stem. So what about the other? Or...as I understand...the 2 stems have 2 different jobs to do? thanks for your answer to my...very noobie question.

      One leg is the spring and the other leg (The damper) controls how the spring behaves.

    Nice vid. Looking forward to the install vid. What made you chose the push coil conversion over the vorsprung smashpot ?

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Bryan, I picked the push as I already have a smashpot and wanted to compare them.

    • @bryananthony8731

      Jed MTB Oh. Perfect ! As I’m on edge about which one to upgrade to. Hope there is a comparison vid in the works or at least honorable mention. It would be nice to get an opinion from someone who has used both. I’m leaning towards the smashpot because it eliminates the need for any air but the push seems to be more popular. Thanks again

      @@bryananthony8731 I will be doing a vid for each and also a comparison.

    Do you know if you can go back to air after using that push coil kit? 🤔 I think that on the marzocchi coil kit or the formula selva coil kit you couldn't go back to air because of the scratches the coil makes inside of the leg..

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Push don't recommend to going back to air because of the scratches, you'd need to swap the CSU if you wanted to use air again.

      So it's.. "you just better like it" kinda thing.. 😅

    Why do you prefer the coil over air? Enjoy the ride

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer the extra grip and stability that you get from a coil.

    Hi Jed so I have a suntour air fork and I noticed that if dusty, there is a lot of friction between the seals and stanchion. Any ideas on how to help?

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you need some lubrication on the seals, products like this should help us.wplbike.com/products/forkboost-4oz

    Hi what about token ,I got 170mm and 83kg ?

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 170mm ships with one token in, it’s worth experimenting with the number to see what you like, I’m about 90kgs and I prefer the feel of two tokens at 170mm and 3 at 150mm.

    I have the same fork except in the (slower) black. Been absolutely superb on the trail however after only 9 months on the bike the LSC dial has seized. It still turns with the HSC dial (as it did before) but before today it had around 18 clicks of adjustment, now depending on where the HSC dial is turn to I can get a handful of clicks or none at all. Do you (anyone) know if this problem is easily remedied? Much appreciated.

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, it's normally the small metal clip which has broken, this can be checked by removing the LSC dial, RockShox don't sell it as a part but you can contact the place you got it from and they should be able to get a replacement.

    Hey jed what hope adapters would I need to get for a 220mm rotor if you could send me a link much appreciated it be for fox 40 thanks

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Fox 40 uses a 203mm post mount so you'll want the Hope Q mount part number: HBMQN to fit a 220mm. here is a link tidd.ly/faf7cb23

    how do i know if i have the 2.1 damper ?

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your fork is model year 2020 or newer and has the same style decals as in the video, unless your fork has been upgraded then the damper would need to be removed to confirm.

      The improvement to performance is massive with the Push ACS3 and maintenance is reduced.

    Fork. You have one fork on your bike. A fork came in that box.
