      Actually I'm truely mesmerized how she breaks the Fe stereotypes of being fake people-pleaser or needy for validation. People need to see more how individualistic Fe users can be, especially Fe auxes are intriguing for me because they can be very individualistic while also being able to look at society from detached 3rd eye and also still considering the group to healthy degrees.

      I love ISFJs they are very well-rounded people. Having Fe-Ti in the middle is an incredible strength as they are balanced with heart-brain can even get 50% 50% as Selena is also very rational while at the same time considering emotions. Also, it's not well known but ISFJs have 4D Fi in shadow so it is still strong, even as strong as their 4D dom Si. So ISFJs are very prone to consider things according to both their own emotions, other people's emotions and in logical sense which gives them a broad perspective. They are very underestimated.

      I'm Fi/Si subtype INFP as my true function stack is like FiSiNeTe. I'm the sensorish intuitive so I always feel like I'm living in both worlds that's why I questioned a lot whether I'm sensor or intuitive from the time I've encountered with mbti.

      Si is extremely misunderstood. I love his unbiased definition of Si. The more unbiased the definition is, the more accurate it is. I'm most like Fi/Si subtype INFP so I use Si in significant amount even though it is not dom and I strongly agree and relate to that definition of Si, it's probably the only definition of Si I genuinely relate to because I'm not "traditional" or "conservative", instead I hate conservatives in political sense. I don't know why internet is full of definitions equalizing Si to conservative views and traditions.

      @EricWen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +135

      Ooh great topic. Yes she is very steady and “rational”. However, the clues for me is that she leaves thing more open and un judged than a Ti Dom would. She likes to gather and control what’s coming in before sorting it out and judging it. Just like all the IxxJ’s do.
      Also in terms of spotting the difference for yourself - A Ti Dom’s clarifying and correcting and asking why all the time would pop up a lot more than with Selena! You’d see a lot more of, “this makes sense, that doesn’t make sense, I think this is dumb, that’s accurate.”

I am INFJ, she is definitely ISFJ. The way you explained the Si vs Ni aspect of her personality made sooooo much sense to me. the way that she uses introverted sensing, referencing anchoring points from her past, this is like COMPLETELY opposite to me and how i interpret the world. I tend to take things that have happened and use them to constantly predict the what ifs, and what could and will happen next. These videos are so great Eric, keep it up!

    I really love these videos!!! I've enjoyed watching and reading content about MBTI theory but often the types are presented as stereotypes or extreme versions (makes sense when trying to distinguish them and explain the cognitive functions) while other times they seem so broad/universal a la astrology that arguments could be made for several types... if that makes sense.
    I have really been wanting analysis and explanation of real people to see application/examples and the process of determining type! So glad to have found this. Your editing and animation overlays are really well-done and add a lot to the videos. I also think it would be cool if you did a series maybe showing a few people of one type to see how it manifests differently?

      @EricWen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Extroverted Intuition didn’t show up in this interview bc ISFJ’s really only like to be open and random and spontaneous when it’s a little more controlled and stable
      However the functions all work based on opposites so basically if she has super strong Introverted Sensing, she inherently has to have some weaker Extroverted Intuition.

      What “”””””kept”””””” her from being an INFJ is the dominant and inferior functions: whereas an ISFJ has a function stack of Si Fe Ti Ne, the INFJ has a function stack of Ni Fe Ti Se

    • @EricWen
      @EricWen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      Think about whether you’re really anchored and stabilized by Si (details, past, concrete) or Ni (abstract, future, guessing) and you’ll be able to tell if you’re an ISFJ or INFJ.

    • @MrGreen-sw1ly
      @MrGreen-sw1ly 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EricWen I am definitely more Ni but it's not relatable to another person. Like I don't openly talk about it; I dream or someway think about abstract, future, guessing alone. Not only that but I see dots of color when I am awake(randomly almost everyday); like a third eye. I see visions and patterns/symbols and hallucinate-like when I am stressed out. I am spiritual, like having my own abstract religion. Physically have high blood pressure and I can careless what the technician say about taking drugs to reduced it; just tell me you gonna allow me to donate blood or not. In a relatable way, in a particular instance, I see an older Asian woman and I mentally say that's my mother when she was still alive; or someone younger and I would think, he might becomes like me in the future. Basically I see human nature a lot and what stages they're in and how they could advance or not. I wonder why people think or do what they think/do.
      On the other hand, I can be rational, logical, common sense, and reasonable person. Math, creative, artistic is fine with me. I can be both left and right sided brain. But social interaction is definitely my weakness.
      Not trying to offend anyone but I am NOT interested in normal people. I've already seen paranormal/supernatural and my own heightened 5 senses. I've changed all my mechanical clocks to digital clocks, so I can have the quiet time to meditate; those damn sounds from refrigerator, burner, and road noise though. I don't see a lot of people like me, meh.

    I think something interesting is how Ne dominant/aux types differ from Si dom/aux types. My sister and mother (both SJ types- Mother is an ISFJ while I have trouble typing my sister, I know she's an SJ) have that "it is what it is" attitude and I hate it so much, but I think it's due to the fact as an INFP we just differ perspectives. I personally dislike it because it feels so complacent and stationary, and I couldn't imagine thinking like that at all personally but maybe there's just a lesson that I have yet to learn from them. The style of your videos and the amount of effort you put into them are fantastic. I think your videos are a great way for people to get into the MBTI and typing as a whole. I think I'd love to see a video on Harry Styles or Hayley Williams. (Hayley is really interesting since there appears to be a split in the typing community on whether she is an ENFP or an ISTP.)

    • @EricWen
      @EricWen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Your four letters are a decoder ring for what cognitive functions (Fe, Si, Ti etc) you prefer and in what order.
      Judging (J) and Perceiving (P) is a little confusing for beginners which is why I leave it out. If you want the details, you’re a J if the extroverted function in your top two “personality superpowers” is a T or an F. So basically if you use Extroverted Thinking (Te) or Extroverted Feeling (Fe).
      You’re a P, if your top extroverted function is an N or an S. So if you really like using Extroverted Intuition (Ne) or Extroverted Sensing (Se)
      The reason the J and P is related to your extroverted function is bc that’s how you push on and interact with the outside world. J’s tend to like to add structure and manage the outside world or people or responsibilities. P’s tend to like to gather or keep things open and flexible do they can do their own thing and find what they want to find or what makes sense to them.
      I probably should make a video on this for my second channel 🧐🤔

    • @asinglefrenchfry
      @asinglefrenchfry 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      J and P aren’t really functions in themselves. The original theory was based on 8 cognitive functions, and you’re either J or P depending on the first Extraverted function in your stack. Se/Ne = P type, Fe/Te = J type

    I really appreciate your teaching style! It is very easy to follow and I love seeing the way cognitive functions show up in different individuals. It’s interesting seeing how even though two individuals might share the same functions they each rely on different ones more heavily based on their own life experiences and Cognitive stacks. Super Fascinating! Thank you for the efforts including the animations.
