    I love how I can always tell if someone used max before or since 2012 by looking at whether or not they use the compact material editor :) Great tutorial

    • @DenisKeman
      @DenisKeman  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +terorvlad Well actually i have no issues working with the Slate or the Compact material editor, but since i've used max from like Max 7 or so it's more of a force of habit then anything else. Though the slate material editor has alot of positive sides to it, especially if you want to break down a complex material for easier recognition. Also the fact that Substance Designer and Painter use the more or less same type of slate editor, as well as UE4 it should make me work with the slate in max as well, but like i said previously ... Force of Habit :)

      Denis Keman I know how it feels. It was hard for me to start using it because all tutorials already existing were using the compact which I did not understand at that time. Main reason I did the switch was not having enough material slots to work with because I thought that was a limiting factor and in a way I still do.

      +Mike Franco Well i do try to keep the videos easy to follow even for someone that isn't too experienced with 3ds Max or V-ray. Thank you for your positive comment as that and the likes you guys leave on the videos i do go a long way.

    Your lessons help me to fix a more problems in v-ray rendering! Especially to fix noise on final image - i don't know how to do that. And I can optimize my render time/quality. Thank you very much! You are a perfect teacher!=)

    Hi Denis, firstly thank you for the tutorial and the in-depth explanation of behind creating realistic swimming pool.
    My doubts are actually in setting up the materials itself, I'm using 2013 version and the same options for diffuse to reflection etc aren't there. (3:18 into the video)
    How should i go about this ?

    really nice and still useful in 2018 !
    My problem is : the tiles are repeating themselves on a very small grid so every 10 tiles there is a repetition. when you look from far away its very visible making it in an obvious pattern instead of randomness. Any ideas how to randomize the tiles ?

    Hi, Denis out of these 3 methods for water effect which one do you suggest depending on render time?? since the last one with noise in the geometry will have more polygons.

    • @DenisKeman
      @DenisKeman  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on the need for the project. If you can afford to have more polygons then by all means do use the last approach

  • @ic.xc.

    Water doesn't have a colour . A green sky will give you green water, a blue sky will give you blue water. Good to keep in mind.

    • @DenisKeman
      @DenisKeman  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Marcus Immerkær Keil Well if i am not mistaken i mentioned that when i said that the color of your swimming pool depends on what is underneath the actual water, hence the blue color for the swimming pool :)

    • @ic.xc.
      @ic.xc. 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Denis Keman
      Oh, I didn't say you didn't mention it, was just putting it out there for people hehe.

    • @DenisKeman
      @DenisKeman  9 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @ic.xc.
      @ic.xc. 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course. Don't rush. So r u in the interior/exterior architectural visualisation business? Perhaps your next video could be about some work related . Just a thought

    • @DenisKeman
      @DenisKeman  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marcus Immerkær Keil Most of the work i do is behind an NDA so can't really disclose too much about it ... which kinda sucks as i can't even use it in my portfolio. What did you had in mind though, anything you might want to see in an upcoming tutorial ?
