what's difficult is when you need to delegate responsibilities but don't want them to mess it up

Then you have to train them, shape them. Let them fail and grow. But everything must be under your supervise.
Keep everything to yourself and try to accomplish everything is another way to lose control.

That's where zen chaos comes in. If you show them that you believe mistakes are natural, have confidence in their abilities, and then teach them calmly, they'll be way more likely to soak it up. Let them teach you something, too, so they know they're appreciated.

Write tight specifications so they deliver what you want. If they deviate, there better be a good reason for it such as they greatly improved on your specs (without extensive overcharges).

Outsourcing control was one of my greatest growing pains. But, for the sake of efficiency, the best choice sometimes is to not to do everything yourself.

@1:00 "Start own company in rebellion against the boss, then have to set up the rules"
    I'm a Ne-Fi hippy
Like you guys- this is my situation. I used to hate bosses giving me directions (those I didn't respect).
Had the "I can figure this out myself" mentality.
NOW it's such an awakening; I have soooooo much more empathy for their perspective. Dealing with employees who hate being "coached" is stressful!
When theres good reasons for the "direction" I'm giving, listen to me! Dont give excuses, it's nothing personal, just shut up, learn, get better.

I totally agree with what Dave has to say about starting off with gaining full control over one area of your life and then gradually moving to others. I've always thought the same, but never actually consciously acknowledged that it could be be the right way. These things take a lot of time, but the rewards outweigh the pain by far...

Well, most people who are in the movie/comic industry are creative people. Usually creative people have high Ne, so I'm not surprised the bad guys they created have high Si, since they fear it.

Exactly. I don't like it when people "help" me because I have my own way of doing things and I can't have anyone butting in and screwing things up.
Sigh. Oftentimes I have to though, since the means to my goals are not always at my disposal... Always a begrudging move to outsource, since people are fickle and don't appreciate someone hovering over their shoulders micromanaging things. Usually takes a long time too... a lot of waiting just for a snag to pop up, begetting yet more waiting, or worst of all, back to the drawing board.

I’m good with controlling my personal life, making things happen. I don’t want to extend that to other people and I *really* don’t want them to control me.

Great example about studying other successful people and "copy" what they do.
It's almost like remixing. Like when you pull pieces of different songs, chop it up and turn it into something "different".
The same can be said about pulling ideas or structures from what successful people have done and the build it into your own structure/control/system. Just gotta CONSUME all the DATAS then BLAST it out in the physical world.

As an INFJ it is easy to ask and expect to control. I dont like controlling so when I need to do it, it is because it is the thing that must be done based on the effects it will produces.
And as an INFj, yeah reingeneeing is what I do all the time

As an ISFJ I can relate to Dave saying ' I want to have control?'. It's okay to take complete control of my goal by myself until I build the frame work then ask for help. As a pleaser I tend to look for external approval from the tribe.

Oes represent! Control is The maaan, maaaan. I rather chop off my head than order you around. I actually had a really bizarre childhood event where I became this real tiny fascist while also somewhat "betraying" my core group of "friends." Basically I had a Caesar moment in 5th grade, melted down literally and changed both my body weight and my outlook. I was becoming my step dad without even knowing it. Hard stop. I never thought about that as control. Just like a power that I had inside of myself. (Edit: I did, however, think of my shitty behavior leading up to that event /as/ controlling behavior that should be avoided; doubling down on "control is bad" as a mentality)
Yeah, and still I never connected the dots because my internal feelings as judge were just constantly being ignored. This obviously includes the dark side of things which we all actively ignore but somehow because these functions were neglected, when I accepted my darker feelings then the whole thing came together a bit better. And I can stop and try to gather myself better.

Btw , in chess ( as an intermediate player , also , did not start because of this Beth hormone bullshit trend on Netflix )if you try to control your own corner you are lost right there.
Generally the object is to get as much space as possible in the centre of the board , you control the centre , you restrict your oponents pieces , that's how you win , not by picking corners

For me it's a couple of reasons: 1 Being polite, in nature too much eye is threatning. 2 As lead Ni, I navigate inside myself primarily, but have to look in the external world first to see what's going on, so I tend to look at someone for +4 secs, then piece things together on the inside (which creates resting bitch face for me, which is the highest respect I can give you because I'm absorbing, eeeverything). 3 I lock eye contact when tension rises, conflict or in threatning situations, especially when I know I'm right (the Te side of me, I think).
