Thanks a lot, I'll try and put out more videos (and raise the production quality in the meantime, there's a lot of stuff I want to improve about my channel and videos), maybe that will help the algorithm notice me haha I'm currently already working on my next video so I hope I can put that one out soon and not make you all wait so long ever again aaa

Great job, f4mi. I have been binging your videos for the past couple of days. I love your passion. As long as you have that drive your videos will continue to be wonderful. I wish you success

I've had a super gameboy and gameboy camera for years and never knew you could do that. I might try and find my old usb capture device and do this the next time I need to use a webcam.
I love this cus it's just the kind of project I would do, just to say I did it. In fall 2022 I installed MacOS High Sierra on my Thinkpad T420, and used a very similar AV capture card to connect my VCR to the Thinkpad, and used the video and audio source as my webcam feed so that I could place a FaceTime call to myself. I immediately after thought "well, that's something I did" and very shortly after nuked the MacOS partition. But I still have a video of myself, effectively answering a call and watching a VHS copy of a Jim Carrey movie on FaceTime, which I don't think is a commonly shared experience. I had no reason to do it and honestly it took me hours of frustration to get the drivers to function well enough for MacOS to even boot on a ThinkPad from 2011, but I don't regret it one bit.
It's possible to interface with the camera via serial directly to maybe get more shades of gray. I'm not sure how it works, all I know is that it uses some sort of serial port for communication

So cool you did a video on this! I also did it many years ago! Also with an easycap😂😖 Those things kept melting on me. I did re-visit the setup with an Elgato years later. I think these days the Joey Jr or some other devices might have this as a feature. Would consider using it semi-permanent😂🤓
Hello. I downloaded the Game Boy Camera rom file last year, and then tested it on a Game Boy emulator for DOS, which I then ran in DOSBox. Sorry, I know it sounds n00bish, but do DOSBox support webcam or similar, and it can also be used as a virtual camera for Game Boy Camera?
DOS doesn't support webcams as far as I can tell, and most GameBoy emulators don't supprt the camera cartridge either. Your best bet is mGBA on Windows or Linux, which can emulate old 8-bit games and has Game Boy Camera support.
Funny thing... if we would have been able to stream even such bag quality webcam to our friends somewhere over the internet. That would have been super awasome in 1992 :D

I don't have a better way, but I do have a worse one; using a Game Boy Player rather than a Super Famicom. Very handy thing to know though, that these EasyCap dongles communicate like webcams, much more than can be said about old Hauppauge boxes like the HD PVR.
I've read that Windows10 no longer supports RCA. Wondering if anyone knows a work around for this? I have my SNES plugged into Easy Cap (RCA). VLC recognizes Audio ONLY and OBS doesn't recognize anything aside from the fact that I have the USB AV 2.0 device plugged in. at this point I was wondering if I can run my SNES into MacBook>VLC picks up video>plug MacBook into PC and then choose Video Capture>MacBook? or would it be Display Capture>MacBook? this is all very confusing but I'm determined to make it work
