    I love this cus it's just the kind of project I would do, just to say I did it.
    In fall 2022 I installed MacOS High Sierra on my Thinkpad T420, and used a very similar AV capture card to connect my VCR to the Thinkpad, and used the video and audio source as my webcam feed so that I could place a FaceTime call to myself. I immediately after thought "well, that's something I did" and very shortly after nuked the MacOS partition.
    But I still have a video of myself, effectively answering a call and watching a VHS copy of a Jim Carrey movie on FaceTime, which I don't think is a commonly shared experience.
    I had no reason to do it and honestly it took me hours of frustration to get the drivers to function well enough for MacOS to even boot on a ThinkPad from 2011, but I don't regret it one bit.

      Thanks! I started hackintoshing around 10 years ago, and I have basically done it on every Intel machine I had since then, I'm looking forward to also install Big Sur on my Ryzen PC during the next few days since I have just got a M1 Macbook and that would make a perfect companion desktop for it

    • @ITzTravelInTime
      @ITzTravelInTime 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@f4micom I have started hackintoshing since 2012 and over the years i learned how to hackintosh a wide variety of stuff, now i am a developer in the hackintosh scene, making my own tools (for example my open source project called TINU) and sometimes giving an hand on other's projects (like clover or some kexts).
      About some hackintoshing acievements i got some impressive stuff like installing big sur on a core 2 duo from 2007 (did it in july, look for moy reddit post), install leopard on my old trusty socket 939 motherboard, boot snow leopard in qemu on android, and really worked on lots of wired stuff.
      My current main hackintosh it's my x99 beast, featuring an overclocked i7 5820k and lots expansion cards, alongside it, i have my macbook pro 15 inch 2017.
      About hackintosh italian commiunities to help you with that amd system i can reccomend you the macOS86 forum, the italian section of insanelymac, the hackintosh italia telegram group (those people are friends of mine), and to absolutely stay very very very far away from places tonymacx86, orilla, hackintosh-zone and hackintosher.
      About other stuff I collect pc hardware (have a lots of that, from 1986 up to today), nintendo consoles, and games, lots of games, i have like an entire ikea library full of games including over 300 games just for pc, including about 30 big box games.
      Thank you for replying and reading all of this stuff, me and my friend Gianmarco really love your content (because it's prettymuch what we do as well, also my firend really loves thinkpads too) and we are always exited for every new upload of yours, so keep up the good work! I want to take this opportiunity to encourage you to upload more frequently, even if you don't have anything of peculiar or special to show, maybe just to share or talk about some games or some stuff you find fascinating, we are going to whatch it anyways, your channel has lots of potential so don't waste it.
      Greetings from Napoli and good luck for the channel.

    • @f4micom
      @f4micom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ITzTravelInTime Thanks for all the support! Your hackintosh achievements are definitely interesting, how does osx work on x99? I wanted to try it on huananzhi boards last year but I didn't really get to do it in the end
      I also don't really follow any italian communities/websites a lot, I tend to read international forums or reddit since they are usually more active and updated
      No need to thank me for replying! I'll try uploading more frequently, really, but I REALLY REALLY don't want to rush videos or make videos about something I don't personally find interesting or noteworthy of making videos about, I just really don't want to spam videos that aren't that interesting, but fortunately I have got some ideas in store and I'm working on them so stay tuned and you will see some of them coming soon here on the channel ^^

    • @ITzTravelInTime
      @ITzTravelInTime 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@f4micom I am to saying to rush videos, i am just encouraging you to bring more, that's it, there are lots of interesting things you can show us.
      About hackintoshing on x99 it's not on the easy side, but when you manage to work out all the stuff it runs great, i use it for coding and i compile some massive projects like kernels or hackintosh bootloaders and the multicore xeon processors on the platform definally helps a lot with that, i can reccommend it to you only if you have the time and can find the parts for cheap, this is no longer going to be a platform worth investing, becase with new hw launches the price of the hardware will drop

    • @ITzTravelInTime
      @ITzTravelInTime 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The biggest issue on x99 is the power managment btw, so prepare to have the computer not going to sleep or to have problems getting the cpu to change frequency based on the load and to turbo correctly

VLC recognizes Audio ONLY and OBS doesn't recognize anything aside from the fact that I have the USB AV 2.0 device plugged in. at this point I was wondering if I can run my SNES into MacBook>VLC picks up video>plug MacBook into PC and then choose Video Capture>MacBook? or would it be Display Capture>MacBook? this is all very confusing but I'm determined to make it work
