I think Choco Island 2 because the second turn tosses you immediately into a narrow road and the last one has minihills that WILL knock you into the offroad.

No, it’s possible to clear it with a feather item. I actually tried it (no joke, I cleared it), if u aren’t careful u have a high risk of running into a wall after doing it.
Also, in bowser castle 3 I managed to skip a big chunk of the stage using the feather. In the first turn with the first 2 jumps, I managed to make a sharp left turn right before the jumps and went into the area with the 4 thwomps in the section that leads to the 3 way fork in the road area.
Lol I was pretty far ahead that I slowed down right at the finish line to see the CPU’s rubber band mechanic in action (it was the last lap at 150cc class).
NB that was the scariest gamesgraber ad I've ever seen
Wait... you said that SNES rainbow road is the hardest rainbow road. Since Donut Plains 3 is harder, then it's harder than all the rainbow roads! Is it the hardest mk track in your opinion?

I think GBA and Wii have harder Rainbow Roads. For me Snes Rainbow Road is one of the easier tracks in that game.It would barely crack the list if it were mine.

I’ve never played Super Mario Kart, but I’ve played these courses on Mario Kart Super Circuit. They were considered retro tracks in that game.

Vanilla Lake 2 was one of my favorite tracks as a kid on the GBA because I always lapped (right word?) all NPCs except of the one in second place :D
You know... after playing Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS, I suggest they re-release an updated 3D version of Super Mario Kart for the 3DS, with the same courses, but updated to look like graphics in Mario Kart 7; at least looking like SNES Mario Circuit 2 and SNES Rainbow Road on the game. They can re-imagine the 2D tracks in 3D round modes. We can also have the same character roster from the original but now also include more characters like Wario, Waluigi, Rosalina, Daisy, etc. And it could have regular standard karts, but also some different types. And it could have newer stuff, like ramps for shortcuts, more item boxes everywhere, more items, the return of the feather, etc. It'd be Super Mario Kart 2.0, with the graphics of Mario Kart 7 but the same designs of the original.

I really want BC3 in mk9. But, instead of being on top of lava the whole time, give it the cheese land treatment and make it indoors, give it some dimensions and not just flatness, and you have a good track.
we're so lucky that our Donut Plains 3 was fixed in Mario Kart 8 and with the 200cc Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are Donut Plains 3 is amazing

AARGHH!!! I just absolutely HATE Donut Plains 3 on SNES! 150cc is literally impossible cos of this. I'm pretty sure that gap in the bridge was supposed to have a bump - it did in Super Circuit - but they apparantly "forgot" and totally BROKE this track, in both senses of the word

I’ve been playing this on Switch, and even when making heavy use of the Rewind feature, I still couldn’t get higher than third place in Donut Plains 3. Rainbow Road didn’t give me the same kind of trouble.

The hardest track I ever came to was Dount Plains 3.
There is one bridge jump which is nearly impossible to make plus on top of that the turns are hard to make and even on top of that the roads are smaller.

Donut Plains 3 is one of the hardest, but not the hardest by any means.
And because of how basic Super Mario Kart is, the difficulty makes it my favorite Super Mario Kart track by far
