Well done. Thank you so much for sharing this video.I have problems with mine at the moment too. I have only 10volts in the cigarette lighter and the display comes on and off but the car still starts.So I will remove but junction box and have a look too. I suspect it is the burned out battery cable.

Same here it was driving fine one day parked at dollar tree didn’t turn on changed the battery but I get a increase battery discharge and lighting warning

I had the same problem! Sometimes my car (E93) had no electricity at all! After a while it came back and everything worked normal again. Until next time where it happened again. In my car it was "only" the power cable that had a loose connection.

I have just pulled mine out too,but it all looks fine really,I have bought another used unit but I suspect my junction box is faulty,shows up as (A738 power supply),but some things work and others don't,climate control is dead,shows no fuel in tank,wipers have a mind of their own,and no remote locking at all,starts and drives fine,checked the battery,had a new one just fitted and all connections are fine, radio did work but now no sound
Battery has to be coded after replacing. Junction box and fuse box after replacing must have the jumpers in the same location as the original one otherwise it won't work properly! It won't power all the modules! Maybe for the central locking you have to change the battery in your key fob.

Do you have to change the entire fusebox? If its just lose, why not use washers to tighten it?

I'm not sure if I need to change some fuses all the whole junction box🤔?
It was cutting all power off and the car wouldn't react to anything...

You can reset the error to see if will come back on. if yes you might check the battery

Normally the fusebox is the same just be sure you have the one for facelift model (from 2010 till 2012) or pre facelift (2005-2010) depends what car you have. Part nr is written on your fusebox. This is part nr for a fusebox facelift model 61149119445. Check jumpers and everything when you make the swap
Hello I’m getting code junction box A731 (Supply, terminal 30g-f) I changed the 30F relay but no luck. I have a brand new battery, the car turns on and runs. The only issue is when I leave it on accessory for maybe 3-5 mins my battery gets drained and I cannot start the car, I end up using a jumper box to start it. Can the junction box be the issue causing this? Or could it be the fuse block on top of the battery. Thanks let me know what you think :)
Question, how did you access the one screw holding junction box behind blower unit? Did you remove blower? If not, wow, not sure how you access that screw. There are four screws, correct? Thanks
After you remove at least 2 screws you can rotate the fuse box enough to have access to that screw. A little bit tight but is doable
@@WarpDriveM , I think using a 1/4" extension 6" with swivel and T20 will work at a 45 degree angle for the top left screw behind blower. Or, maybe just remove blower ot make access easier.
My car starts in runs it just does get power when I hit on my gas to where I have to pull over to start it up again but it runs can sb tell me what’s wrong with my car I changed the spark plugs ignition coils
the moisture is from the bad seals in the cowl

My wife's BMW 3 series has a fuse box ( distribution)box problem, in that the horn no longer works and the remote door opening no longer works.
In the UK no horn means immediate failure of the road worthy test and therefore dead car.
Labour rates for an auto electrician in the UK,sky high.
Total dead car as not economic to repair.

If you change the electronic module as well and not just the fuse panel then you do.
This fuse box problem was the subject of a recall, first in the US, then in the UK.
The replacement fuse box has a completely different connector for the main battery connection; a bolt an nut requiring an 'eye' connector on the battery cable. The BMW kit includes a replacement section of main battery cable to match the new fuse box.
The old main battery connection is completely unsuitable for the current flow and overheats as shown in the video.
The recall in the UK only happened after a BMW e90 driver was killed in a collision when their car died on on a dark road leaving them stranded.
You are 100% correct! But at that time there was no recall. I've sold the car and I've bought another 3 series a gas one and it was done as recall problem. On diesel models just from this year will be done as recall problem....
Last weekend, same happened to me. Whole engine cut off electricity while driving. I even could not turn the hazard lights on. I was on motorway doing around 50mph. It was so difficult moment, and the electricity come back after 2-3 seconds. I took the car to BMW Sytner in Leicester, and wanted them to have a look to connection. They had a quick look, and told me it looks fine... However, now I do not feel safe. BMW did change no part, and told me everything looks fine. I could have also passed away when the electricity shut down. I think BMW recall should have also included replacement of the fuse-box, not only the cable! I am currently preparing for enough evidence to take a legal action if this fault turns out to it is caused by same fault.

My cars doing this too and despite what my boyfriend says I think it's from this recall I drive the car daily and I am more familiar with how it's doing and it's not the battery like he says..I stay this bc it's almost like there is a wire loose and it's only done this twice but both times he jumped it off and both times it didn't seem to be working when he jumped it off until he wiggled the cable then it just lit up I am a girl and most girls aren't good with cars I'm no exception but I'm not dumbass either and I have a feeling it's not the battery

The battery cable is a recall for all e90. You can check online if your car has an open recall or not. Google bmw recall put your vin nr in there and you can see if there is an open recall on your car.

There is a plastic piece on top of the connector you have to press it towards inside and it will release the cable. It is a little bit hard to do but thats the method

Hast du alle Elektronikteile vom Original auf die neue „Platine“ eingesteckt? Ich meinte ich hab was gelesen, dass man das dann nochmal programmieren muss.
Ich habe nur die Sicherungskaste gewechselt. Dafür muss man nicht neu programmieren lassen. "junction box " steuergerät müsste programmiert werden wegen ausstattung... richtig aufpassen bei Sicherungskasten das jeden Teil genau wie früher ist und auch die "jumpers" Brücke Verbindung genau sind. Viel Glück

Ich war mit meinem Fahrzeug bei BMW. Die haben das checken lassen und meinten, dass mein Fahrzeug davon nicht betroffen ist. Die haben auch an dem Kabel gerüttelt. Und der Wagen ist nicht ausgegangen. Letztenendes war die Batterie defekt, weil die schon zu Alt war. Die wollten allein für die Diagnose 90€. Abzocker. Aber das war jetzt mein letzter BMW. Ich Wechsel zu Mercedes.
What year is your car ? Because I know this model had a recall due to the electric fault
This was 2010 model year, you are right a out the recall but sadly not in Europe
Did you need to disconnect the battery before removing it?
If is already broken it doesn't matter...but normally battery should be disconnected always when working on electrical parts.

I have a lot of problems with Terminal 15 no communication. Do you need to program the junction box after the replacement?
If you are replacing just the fuse box itself and reuse the junction box you don't need to reprogram anything but if you are replacing the junction box as well that needs to be coded

Hallo, wie hast du das Den Batteriestecker da rausbekommen. Ich wollte nur den Batteriestecker rausbekommen und dann die Metallteilen etwas mit der Zange biegen bzw. säubern. Aber ich bekomm den Stecker einfach nicht raus.

Wondering if I need a new JBE module. 2012 E70 Diesel. Had low battery warnings while inside car adding features to my Android screen. I then lost power to Steering Column tilt and all Climate Control. Carly adapter OBDii error codes are saying timeout at JBE box. The error codes are difficult to find info for. -- Systems error = Junction Box Passenger: K-CAN MESSAGE (ID2BF, VALVE): FAILURE BY TIMEOUT, Code 00A737 -- & -- Junction Box Passenger: PT CAN ID2A6 OPERATION WIPER TIMEOUT / K-CAN MESSAGE ( ID 246, STATUS AIR): FAILURE BY TIMEOUT, Code 00C914

All your errors are most likely because of your battery. You have to check the battery and after that to start changing parts. I'm pretty sure that the battery is faulty
@@WarpDriveM Thanks -- Pretty certain 99%, the battery caused these issues. But (too bad) a new batt did not fix. $80 JBE arriving today and going to let my local BMW mech install since he has the computer tablet to code it to my vin... Not sure if installing first, then driving it over to get coded is a good idea? Does the JBE need to be "IMMEDIATELY" coded? Hard for intermediate DIY'er to predict any possible trouble doing that.
My BMW 318i not starting. The fuse box was Bern. So hi get a new one on it still not starting why?
Check if you put everything the same in the new fuse box as in the old one including the jumpers

Obd has a fuse as well. Check the fuse and when obd is not responding usually is the FRM module bad

I've moved the fuse block till the car received power and I'ved opened it Normaly. If you have the pre facelift model you will have a lock to put the key in on the right side near the release button
You didn’t have the key fob in the first time you tried to start it after you replaced the fuse box

The car has keyless go/entry. I don't need to use the key. You just have to have it in the car. You can pit it in the slot as well...

Just to add on to your issue. If the Integrated Supply Module in the Engine Hood Passenger side fuse blows off also this could happen. I managed to break in to that one too. Might benefit someone. Here's the Link

The difference is, if you shake the 12v cable behind the glovebox and everything works, it is not an ISM module, it can also be IBS on the battery though, but then you have totally no power.
@@Seredinh is the 12v cable connector faulty!!! I have ripped the glovebox fuse box too and saw irreplaceable fuse and some small relays. I have posted it's video, I don't know if it will help out or not.

For fuse box no coding required but if you replace the junction box sometimes you need to do some coding if the new junction box came from a car with different options

the cable is faulty in the us we got a recall mines still broken because they didn't replace the cable but they said they did
In Europe we didn't have recall for this. Recently I've bought another e90 328i from US and for that they've done it. So just the US market can do this faulty cable through recall.

I think because we have different options on the cars and different engines and for that the cables are different routed. And the percent of the faulty cars is way smaller the in the US market. Just my opinion....

Yes. That's the plan at least! 😁 or depends on what offerts I find on my expectations. But first I will looking for BMW.
The error was?
The fuse box. But the main problem was the positive cable that came from the battery. Now it's a recall from BMW. If you have this problem you can call your bmw dealership to see if they are gonna fix this for you (free).

Check engine on.
That seems to be a wire problem. You have to check the wires between the firewall and the engine. There should be a metal holder. If that is gone it might be that your wires are burned from the exhaust
