  • This is a sensitive topic but also the unspoken story of many households. In our first episode, Adeela tells Kanwal the story of what went on for 10 years behind closed doors - before she finally stood up with her father's support for herself and her children.

      Once my brother and SIL had a fight and my brother raised his hand. That was the first and last time he did so. Everyone was in complete shock. No one supported my brother's actions. He went to his in-laws and sat on the floor in their feet and apologized.
      Even my mother didn't talk to him for months saying "kuch bhi Hua, jis Ki bhi ghalti thi hath Nahin uthana chahiye tha"
      I think this treatment from both sides makes a man overthink his actions and help him to be a MAN in true sense.

      Slapping isn’t the right approach. We slap kids without thinking about their self respect. Then those kids grow up to be aggressive husbands and fathers. Better teach them violence is never acceptable, not even a slap will be tolerated at home because it’s also a form of abuse.

    I am specialist trained dentist in UK, I had partially arranged marriage 7 years ago, I tolerated him for two years, and left him with my 6 months child without giving him warning because they dont deserved that, it took me 5 years to recover from that trauma and Alhamdullilah my child is the happiest child. But the thing is even you are educated or not they draw you to the edge of psychotic depression and it's only your mental strength that make you stand again. I have fight alone in all journey with myself and the society.

      I am in the same boat. I had to fight against not only with my husband but also with my own family. Instead of believing me, my family believed on his false stories. Even though there were open proves of cheating and abuse but my family still wanted to forgive him and give him a chance (which i have been giving him for 6 years) Finally i took a firm stand against everybody and got seperated with my daughter. Now i am a professional and sponsoring myself and my daughter.
      Most heart breakning is that your own family dont support you and trust you.

    Girls, please put your education before marriage. People can take away your money from you, your self respect even but not your knowledge. You may never know what obstacles you might have to face in life and it is only appropriate that you have enough qualification in life to rely upon. Never let a man, or "ishq or pyaar" destroy your aim and ambitions. Never let anybody step over you.

    Being independent, being educated is the biggest weapon anyone can have. There are instance where parents force their daughters to get married. But everyone should understand that making her independent should be on top of any parents priority list.

    Such cases are across the globe. When a woman is in love, she gives the longest rope to her man. But when it snaps, it snaps forever. As long as women teach their sons to be respectful towards their better half, understand they are human just like themselves and treat them equally, these stories won’t repeat. If you want to make a change, start with yourself first.

    • @B.entries
      @B.entries 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Sons learn behavioral patterns and habits from the father. If the father does not respect his wife and the son sees that , he will do the same coz according to him that is 'normal'. Its not only the mother responsible . While the mother teaches her son through words, the father teaches the son through his acts and children usually pick on visual learning first. By the time they are old enough to understand the mothers words, it'll be too late.

We didn't talk to each other but started talking some how a yr before our marriage and I told my parents he doesn't sound right to me at all. There were so many indicators like verbally abusive, non stop blames on my character for no reason etc. and I am happy I recognised them at an early age. My family supported me and broke the engagement which tool us another 1 yr due to continues threats social pressure and all. And if these people really think hitting women is manhood. Please don't hesitate to hit that person between his legs. He will surely remember all his manhood.
    P.s to all those ladies suffering. Kindly kindly please leave your husband and live a better life! If you are thinking what society will say. Please through the society in hell because those people are not suffering with you

Allow them to get out into the world, take up a job, a career, where they can earn and be financially independent. Teach them to save and establish themselves before you think of marrying them off. Financial independence gives you a voice, it instils a feeling of self dependence which no one can take away from you. When God forbid you find yourself in a bad relationship, you find the guts to walk out taking your children with you and live a life free of stress and abuse.

    She was a very strong woman. Maybe it took her 10 years to realize the abuse she was going through and gather the strength to leave, but she did it. To all those people that said they would leave on the first slap, they are not in her shoes. How incredibly difficult it is to leave a situation that may clearly look like abuse from afar, is only known by the person experiencing it. They are going through a lot of emotions, gaslighting, trying to make things work, believing in change and the inherent goodness of people. Abuse is complicated with layers - it is not just simply a slap in the face. I have never been physically abused, but her story resonates with me on many many other levels.

      Saudi is Muslim country and so Pakistan but government and citizen both do not practice Quran an sunnah in mashrat, mamulat . In Islam a husband is not allowed to beat a woman. Most he can do is just a tap of miswaaq on her shoulder just as gesture of displeasure. Pls find out from an Islamic expert on islamic laws on rights of wives. Pak/ India men hv attitude of hindu culture bcs of ignorance and inheritance of Indian Hindu culture b4 Islam. Having said that a man is not real man who beats his wife on face and on other body parts , same delicate body which he never is reluctant to use when it comes to his desire. Husband is not even allowed to demand to hv sex if wife is not willing to sleep. He must win her consent and willingness to give him her feminine pleasure.

    I had quite a same scenario. My ex used to abuse me and always told me that without him no body will except me in future and he was doing a favour for me by staying in a relation with me.He used to abuse my parents for not raising me well.He was ashamed of me.He did not allow me to hang out with my friends and put restrictions on my dressing,my life style. Even he didn't allow me to cut my hair or leaving it loose. But the sad part was i tolerate all of his nonsense.I know I was in love but i did so wrong with me.I always live in a guilt that I am wrong. But one day I took that courage and left him. And I always thanked God that I left him.It was the best decision that I did in my life. This type of men are treat women as a object. They don't love anyone they think they bought a showpiece on which they have only right and they can do anything with them.Whenever they fell good they treat them nicely and when not they can do with them whatever they want. They think this is so masculine. They are not human. There is no humanity left in them.So who ever reading this I am just telling you no matter how much you love your partner if you are in this kind of situation just leave that toxic relationship and live for your own self.Never let anyone to hurt you just because you love them.Always remember that.
