I bought my Starplayer Special 20 years ago, and I have to admit it's built like a Panzer! At the time there was only 2 bolts to hold the neck and doesn't move at all, and after years of playing she's still looking pretty. The pickups are awesome and the guitar stays in tune incredibly well... In fact it's so perfect that I sometimes prefer playing my Jazzmaster which is more... lunatic 😅 but it's a weapon of choice for recording, and the guitar I take onstage when I'm not feeling great : it makes you play better
First time visitor - great channel! This solid body seems pretty versatile. I have a Starplayer Rebound Ltd. Edition with 2 humbuckers but I swapped the neck for a Duesenberg P90 (their usual configuration) because I wanted 'that' middle position sound. It's an exquisite guitar and I'm using it more and more in the studio, mainly for clean chordal work - the semi-acoustic 'open' quality is terrific.
I had a Starplayer Special. I had to get rid of it due to the controls options. Too many options to fiddle about with. (Ditto a Clapton signature Strat.) I also had a V Caster from pre-2009 which hadn’t been plek’d. The neck was no where near as playable as the plek’d Starplayer Special.
I totally understand the "too many options" issues with guitars and amps. Generally want one or two go-to sounds. Although slight adjustments to the volume nob alone gives a lot of options.
Love this guitar. Looks like a 50’s diner with tuning pegs. Another great vid, fellas!
Looks like a 50's diner, and just as tasty! We love it too. More Dueseys are coming in future episodes!
Agreed.... totally 50s diner / car design. Thumbs up for Duesenbergs.
My first impression was 'Art Deco meets Harley Davidson' 😅 I have come to love mine after an initial fear of all the hardware!
I totally get that combination idea. Pretty cool all around. Congrats on your guitar!@@mortonwilson795

I have a bunch of gibsons, fenders and a gretsch. And two duesenbergs. These guitars are in a whole other league.
We agree. Solid
Oh wow, the Julia 😍…. Great job, guys!
I especially like the Julia in Narvik Blue...mostly because it's fun to say. Thanks for watching, Sarah!
Love this guitar i bought 4 years ago from Budapest ! a very versatile guitar !
Very well built. Plays and sounds amazing!
Great review of a great guitar. It is super versatile with that tone knob.
Thanks! All these guitars are true surprises to me .. . And this one was a gem.

Thanks for a review that doesn't play thru pedals.
Yer welcome. Although there is a bit of dirt on there at parts. ;)
No problemo!
