I've been playing the older games for the first time over the last few years, and Wild World is *absolutely* my favourite! The characters have their own hobbies, interpersonal relationships, and SO much personality that I look forward to talking to them every day. Phyllis' dialogue about Pete was absolutely wild! The guy's straight up stalking her while she's trying to keep him away both from her and her sister, and Tom Nook broke Sabel's heart? 😂Even Brewster who barely talks in the other games tells you about why he wanted to open a café, and threatens to reveal where his pigeon milk comes from. 🤣 It's also the most challenging AC game in terms of catching bugs and fish and making money, so there's plenty to keep you occupied if you just want something to play for a little bit every day.
I remember watching the commercial for Wild World and being mind blown away by the fact that it was going to be on the DS because I played the first game on the Gamecube and wondered if it would hold up on the handheld. I didn't buy the game until 3 years later and I was hooked I played it so much. I still have the same copy of Wild World I bought in 08 in my game collection.
new leaf is my favorite entry in the series. i bought wild world and couldn’t find anything to do other than fish?? watching this video makes me want to give it another shot though.
Besides nostalgia its the worst animal crossing wild world have less content then every other animal crossing game like and there is even a better version of wild world and that’s cityfolk so how world wild can be the best ? 😅
@@LeonGeht wild world actually introduced a lot of new mechanics to animal crossing. Like the slingshot and watering can, being able to place design codes on the ground. Wild World is also the first multiplayer ac game. Its not just "nostalgia" imo. Wild world introduced A LOT of people to the franchise in general. Its simply the best game in the sense that it perferctly encapsulates what "Animal Crossing" is.
@@frillygames I don’t think so but I can understand your opinion. I still think city folk is overall better with more content and better fps the fps on wild world is annoying. I just think that wild world have less content then every other animal crossing expect new horizon that one is worse. Overall for me it is the worst the fps the graphics and it also don’t have that much content and even no real holidays makes this game trash for me and I say this even I played it for 50 hours
Literally just started playing, previously I've played new leaf and new horizons (I preferred new leaf, felt like it had more soul idk) and so far I'm loving it! My favourite villager is Drake the duck, he's pretty chill. Looking forward to see what sort of village I can create and which villagers I'll meet.
I played this game as a kid. I put so many hours into it. I remember when I thought the lost and found meant I actually had to find the items in the town. That explains a lot looking back at it.
Wild World happened to be the very first Animal Crossing game I ever got, I played it for a long time & then played it again until New Leaf came out. The dialogue is my favorite & led to Apollo being my favorite villager, he’s cool & while he’s grumpy he shows he cares. I also have notes because I learned what dialogue would be said to stop villagers from moving. I also once saw a video were someone learned the systems for befriending villagers was different in each game & they thought WW’s system was the best while CF seems to have a bug or something. This game makes me wish I knew how to code because I want a mod to add Wild World’s dialogue to different games.(New Horizon defiantly needs it) Also wish I could make a mod to turn City Folk into a Wii version of Wild World, it may be interesting but it has issues due to Nintendo just expecting you to import your WW file to the game.(Probably everything is more expensive & no friend photos)
i find it hilarious that people get mad at others for time traveling and cheating when those same people literally make black markets to trade villagers out instead of taking what comes to them, AND those same people are playing an entire entry that does NOT stay faithful to the first few entries whatsoever. new horizons has like 3% of the original sentiment of animal crossing in it, yet they’re talking abt how time traveling is playing the game how it wasn’t meant to be played? that’s like-the least of everyone’s worries now that new horizons has a shit ton of things that make it the opposite of how it was supposed to be. not to mention-the game practically forces the players to time travel with how fucking LONG some things take to actually get going. like each house being completed in the tutorial-why can’t every house become built at the same time and then the villagers move in one by one? or at least every hour or so each house is built, and the villagers come one by one. idfk, SOMETHING.
It would be difficult for me to call Wild World the definitive best Animal Crossing game, but I do believe it has more or less the best overall package for its size. It's shockingly the only classic game to have villager pics, which I view as the ultimate collectable of the game, while also have some of the most diverse day to day occurrences. The graphics may be among the worst, but there's also a unique charm to them that you don't get in any other game, and I believe wild word has the best villager and special NPC dialogue in the series. Wild World was good enough for its time to stand on its own as a main game, but I believe it is still perfect as at least a side game to this very day, especially with the convenience of handheld. That being said, New Leaf still gives Wild World a run for its money in that regard, but where Wild World lacks in content, it definitely makes up for it with its charm. The bottom line is, whether or not it could truly be considered the best of the series, I stand by that if you've never experienced Wild World, you've never experienced Animal Crossing's full potential. The NPCs have always been the core of the franchise, and Wild World mastered that particular aspect beyond any other game so far.
could you elaborate on how to interact with the villagers if you do make another video? the dynamic hobby and quest system is really cool and im sad that it wasn't brought back
now this is crazy I always played wild world when I was around 5 to 7 and i didn't understand most of it cause English is my second language and i am freaking surprised how much you could do in that game a bit sad that I couldn't enjoy it at full extent but I consider buying new horizon for switch
Anyone who doesn't think New Horizons is the best is blinded by nostalgia. - AC player since 2002. And I even played the two spin offs and the DSi ware (:
i've been playing ac since i was a really little kid and have played all them but the one on the wii u bc i didnt have a wii u. wild world and population growing are my faves bc they are more in line with what i like in the series. new horizons felt really.. idk. flat. it didnt have the charm that the old games did. the villagers and npcs all feel really flat and without personality. i love the town decorating in nh, but other than that.... idk. the game is boring and not worth playing. it feels like it didnt get much love. the perfect animal crossing game to me would be wild world villagers and dual screen aspect, house decor of hhd, town decor of nh, do chores for villagers, being able to kick around balls and visit the island with a special villager like in pg, and the many different shops like in nl! that would be literally the ultimate animal crossing game i think. idk. i didnt really like nh and was very disappointed in it. it was literally the only reason i got a switch.
Yeah it’s dumb that people get mad other people time travel but it’s just as dumb to talk about your museum or anything else you have online if you time travel because I mean it is cheating no matter what way you shake it, nothing wrong with cheating in single player but it still is. It’s just like putting in a shiny cheat in Pokémon then posting a picture of my shiny online like yea that totally means just as much as my full odds legendary that took 12k soft resets to achieve.
I mean sure- but regardless I still have to put in the same amount of hours of gameplay you normal do, time traveling just lets me do it faster. If you do a shiny cheat in Pokémon you don’t spend the hours it takes to grind for it. I’m still grinding in animal crossing with TT 🤷🏻♀️
