whenever "Straight" is the only tag in quotation marks, and the most expensive one at $9999, i think it's valid to say that a large population of your player base and potential buyers will feel alienated because you're undermining their identity. I really want to like this game, but I just don't feel like being the butt of a joke for being straight.

If someone being able to represent their identity makes you so upset you gotta post about it online in a rage and automatically considee it a problem, that says more about you than them.

Found one other comment mentioning Final Fantasy 14 / FFXIV. I think you have to play through the main RPG (combat) campaign once to unlock every area (and thus, fish) and pay a subscription, but there is so much fishing content that you can honestly treat it like a standalone fishing game. I loved catching every single fish in it, and it took months.

You might like “a short hike”. Fishing isn’t its primary goal, but it’s very intrinsic in the game especially if you like the aspect of collecting. “Dredge” is another with the goal of mainly collecting fish.

dredge is another really good fishing game. its a little more than that with a story and a few monsters but it is pretty much entirely fishing and just a good game overall. i have been looooving webfishing though. it’s so nice to have a chat room style game back.
