I certainly hope so :) it’s never easy losing a friend but leaving a legacy of sorts is all we can hope for. In this case, stories and tales will be told and hopefully a small part of him will live on through others who enjoy a universe that he did.

This is the best "unboxing" I have found for this set. As someone researching Battletech for potential purchase, your video is inspiring. I cannot wait to field a Locust with a Catapult and some other indirect fire capable mechs. Thank you for this video.

This game is very intimidating in text format. "Battletech fan" channel made a visual guide that I use every time I forget a rule. All the arnored combat rules are there. It can be used to teach your kids about how to play.
Do not laminate. Use two panels of plexiglass instead. Put maps in the middle. That does the trick of laminating. Get plexiglass in places of home improvement.

@@410adelson Because you may have issues when trying to put maps together.
I plan or running a light RP campaign in which each player will control one Mech. We'll generally use the full rules and minis on a hexless maps. When going into simulator pods however we'll use the simplified rules and the cardboard tokens on hex maps.
Sorry to hear about the loss in the community. The Marik affiliated medium, heavy, and assault Mechs in the box seems pretty obvious but I'm curious to see what you guys end up going with. I also wonder what opposing faction you'll end up picking for this.
great video! fortress miniatures and games has it on sale for $45. The drd bastian was cool looking,seen it at fortress miniatures and games. I think the Awesome would make a great Marik house mech.
Catalyst Labs needs to do more/better marketing. I love all the Mechwarrior/Battletech PC games. Played all of them for a combined total of thousands of hours. I never looked into the tabletop because I only ever knew about the old miniatures which I find to look stupidly comical and therefore off-putting for someone like me who places great emphasize on immersion in tabletop gaming. Literally last week I first heard of the Kickstarter for the new miniatures that started in 2019. Love the new miniatures and I am now desperately trying to get my hands on them.

A lot of the force packs are trickling in and the secondary market is leveling out so win-win for getting into the minis :)
@@Thearmedpainter yeah already checked out Fortress and their prices are absolutely beyond competitive (seriously how are they even still turning a profit whit these? :D)... but, I live in Germany :D with shipping and taxes Ill end up probably paying more than what I would pay at my LGS even with the usual markup we have to pay here (which is that most companies from North America just exchange the $ sign for a € one and call it a day).
Just gotta be patient I guess :)
