I had dinner at one of Chazz's restaurants. He happened to be there, and I approached him, he said he would come over in a little while and say hello. My group felt like he brushed us off. He DIDN'T, true to his word he came over and took pictures. He was very generous with his time and couldn't have been nicer to our guests. (Side note: the food was outstanding.)

Chazz isn't BSing when he said that he always acknowledges the "little guy". I watched him address the crowd at a feast in his old neighborhood, Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, back in the mid 2000s. He walked off of the stage and was walking in my direction. When he got close he looked over at me and walked over to me and said "How are ya?" "Good ta see you." and shook my hand! I was very surprised, because I was just standing there, not waving or anything! And I thought, Man, what a nice guy!

Apparently, Lillo is doing some acting gigs now, and he is young enough to come back from his mistakes, but if he wants his friends back, he has to learn to be truly humble, and to earn back that respect by not saying things like his friend "threw him under the bus." He did not. Chazz is disappointed, like you said, and hurt because both De Niro and Chazz both tried to help him. I am not so sure Lillo is being fully honest, even now, because if those guys were to start backing him again, it is good for his career. So I wonder about ulterior motives.

Any one can receive help but you have to be in the head space to help yourself first. Chazz has a tough love approach but he has a point that life lessons are learned but certain things are preventable if you just be smart about how you go about things.

Well that answered my question on the first video. Thanks for talking about LILO with him. I respect his decision now and understand his reasons. It makes much more sense hearing his side of the story. There are consequences to our actions and one for LILO is that he was given a tremendous opportunity by him and Dinero and squandered it. After the first two videos it didn’t sound like something he would have said or acted the way the media portrayed it. Much respect.
To touch on the giving feels better than receiving, I didn’t understand this till I had kids. Now I get much more gratification to see the thanks in someone’s facial expression than any gift I could receive. I like to buy homeless people lunch but I will also get they a gift card so they can enjoy that first meal without having to worry about where the next one is going to come from. I want them to enjoy their full belly without the stress.
