The Book of Lone Peak is a 21-minute documentary, co-directed by 14-year-old high school student, Zack Samberg and New York based filmmaker, Ben Altarescu. It follows the historic season of the Lone Peak Knights high school basketball team.
In 2013, the Lone Peak Knights had what many considered the best basketball team in the state of Utah's history. With a core group of athletes who had played together since the 2nd grade, the Knights put their sights on a national championship.
With a schedule that featured matchups with teams all the way from California to Pennsylvania, and beyond, many had their doubts. However, always determined to overcome the odds and stare in the face of adversity, the Lone Peak Knights took to the challenge.
This documentary follows Lone Peak's historic season and takes a closer look at how a group of basketball players from a mostly Mormon high school in Utah became the #1 team in the country and a national media story.
Join us as we meet the players, and learn about their rise to the top as well as the futures that await them on their Mormon missions, and their plans to make even more history as they join forces on the BYU basketball team.

What a great documentary. I was in elementary school when this happened and was never too interested in basketball even though my dad was the coach. A few years go by and now I love everything about high school basketball. Lewis coached Lehi basketball to a state championship this year and this documentary reminds me of how proud I was to stand by his side, and how proud I’ll be to keep doing so.
