- Nick Emery is the point guard for Utah's Lone Peak high school and he runs the team to perfection. Emery and two of his teammates (Eric Mika and TJ Haws) will be playing their college ball at BYU. For now Lone Peak's big three are content to terrorize high school basketball. Lone Peak recently took second place at the 2012 City of Palms Classic.

The thing that isn't shown in this video, something that is overlooked, and is the reason why Lone Peak is the number 2 team in the nation... DEFENSE. Nick averages 4.5 steals PER GAME. He is one of the best individual defenders in the country, along with the team being one of the top defenses in the country. And now they're going for their fourth straight State championship.

he really is that nice. highlight videos show highlights. hes not that type of player. Ive seen one of his game tapes or game footage on youtube and not only is he one of the best highschool shooters i have ever seen but a great scorer too.
damn this guy has serious game. only thing i would worry about is how he loves the off balance shot. as long as his shooting percentage is alright i think he's a great sign!

It looks like BYU has a nice class coming in later this year. This guy looks like a very Good player. Nice shot, can penetrate and shoot off of the dribble. And for all of the negative comments he gets to play with a couple of teammates who are also going to BYU and their team has been to several tourneys throughout the country including Chicago Elite and they've played well at each spot. Jabari Parker would have made BYU a legit contender with these guys.

It's cause I've seen him play live. Have you not read what I've been saying? He's played against the TOP GUARDS IN THE COUNTRY this year, and has worked them ALL. Also like I said, he's one of the most aggressive AND a surprisingly athletic player. Who the hell is your "friend"? He's ranked 68th best PLAYER in the country by MaxPreps. You obviously don't know what the hell you're talking about so I'm gonna leave it at that.
We gotta play them in a few weeks but I'm not worried.
That's why he's leading the number 2 team in the nation huh? I PROMISE you, if you saw him in person, you would be blown away. Plus he's WAY more athletic then Barea and will get bigger. I've never seen JJ dunk and Nick throws down with EASE. His handles are incredible and he shoots the lights out. He dropped 38 at the Brandon Jennings invitational last year. If that doesn't impress you, then I don't know what would.

He went up against the top guards in the country at the Florida tournament last month, and did WORK. You're obviously basing your judgments on this video and you're so wrong it's not even funny. He's extremely SMART so he doesn't get into positions to get blocked, and I'd say he can get past ANY guard in the country, and if he can't, he drains jumpers in their eye.

Only real problem I have with him is his slowness, but he's a very savvy and smart player no doubt good pickup.
This kids good. High basketball IQ, good handles, nice shot, gets where he wants to on the court. Who cares if he can dunk. The misconception these days is that you have to be a freak athlete to be a great basketball player and that's simply not the case.

If you want to watch one of their games ESPN has the full game replay against California's defending state champs, Archbishop Mitty. Which Lone Peak beat them 81-46.

Looks like a smart and talented ball player. He certainly knows how to compensate for lesser athleticism. Hopefully for him as his body matures he adds 8+ inches to his vertical.

Well I don't have one at the moment, and I'm not planning on driving to Lone Peak and wait 2 hours before one of their games (because that's how early you have to be there.
