I think Clyde's intention was for Nick Rice to suffer for life and he achieved that. No matter how you dress it up Rice is partly responsible for Clyde going off at the deep end in the first place because he was denied his day in court to tell the jury what Darby did and Clyde's evidence would probably have got a conviction because most juror's are parents. Rice's pride and ego is why he refused to go after Darby because Rice didn't wanna risk lowering his conviction rate, two innocent lives being cruelly cut short didn't even enter his head. Thats why Clyde didn't kill Rice he wanted to fuck with his head and I certainly wouldn't want my friends and colleagues death's on my conscience, Cantrell warned Rice not to make that deal with Darby and he didn't listen now his actions will eat away at him for life because had he just tried like Clyde said only Darby and Ames would have died and the rest would never have happend

Too easy. A thinker would see that the pass gave cover to hold indefinitely, but the way around it was a weak point that the winning side will exploit. The Spartans lost because they trusted in flimsy ideas of secrets and honor, and instead of trusting that one of their own wouldn't betray them, purposely set a trap at that point, block it off, or do both. Even further, purposely let the Persians know about it instead of waiting around for the secret to come out.

At the end when Jamie Foxx's character has Clyde murdered it just shows how little integrity Jamie Foxx's character had and how he was satisfied with himself when he did abandon his morals and professional ethics.
Innocent men are prosecuted and convicted. Men guilty of heinous crimes are given a slap on the wrist and convicted of a considerably lesser crime just to get the conviction.
Watch the movie again and watch Gerard Butler's monologue about how he would have been satisfied if the men who murdered his family were acquitted. Then listen how Jamie Foxx's character says that sometimes they will go for the lesser crime just to get the conviction but is himself satisifed with himself when he is an accomplice to Clyde's murder. They had more than enough evidence to convict Clyde of multiple murders but chose to commit murder himself.
Jamie Foxx's character is a hypocrite.

Clyde already has ppl programmed and in places he NEEDS THEM TO BE so he can focus on working on his next mission he can't do everything himself it takes up to much energy so while he works on his new job his minions do the rest

Ok two things that could have vastly improved this movie:
#1: Shelton had an accomplice(s), who could help him carry out the attacks. Like he recruits a network of people who were not only screwed over by the system but that also have trades and skills he could employ. The spy said it himself, Clyde is a brain, a strategist. True he’s also an engineer but this is were the ten year time-skip comes in handy. For ten years he recruits allies, scopes out all the locations he needs and builds every device needed so when the time came he was ten years ahead in his plan.
And #2, and I think people will agree with me, the ending needed to be changed. Maybe it could end with Clyde getting away or it could have ended with Foxx’s character actually developing because of these attacks. He changes his attitude, his ego gets the severe deflating it’s needed and he admits defeat. Maybe in humility, Clyde could end the bombing of city hall. Sure he’s got blood on his hands but he’s finally gotten him to be humbled, brought down a few pegs.
It’s a great concept but this movie needs a remake with these ideas

I definitely agree with #2, but not so much #1. Having an accomplice would be too cliche and doin all this dirt solo dolo sounds more badass

@@Dragon_Gaming2020 no he didn’t. Clyde Shelton didn’t have any help and that’s part of the problem.

This is why "The Batman who laughs" is one of the scariest fictional characters
All the intellect and resources of The Batman, all of the craziness of the Joker, a combination so powerful he threatens the multiverse as a whole
