Your start up process is completely wrong and could damage the generator the way shown. The way it should be done with your interlock is to
1- shut main breaker and ALL branch circuit breakers
2- start generator
3- turn on GEN breaker on panel
4- slowly start turning on branch circuits as gen can handle safely.

No. 240 x 50 amp = 12000 watts max through a 50 amp connector. 30 amp gives you 7200 max watts. At least that’s my understanding. I can be wrong.

So if the circuit breaker is off On the generator the 50 amp plug won’t work correct?
