Sounds great. The silk and SFE give an amazing amount of flexibility to this unit. Its much more than just a compressor/limiter.

@@2probeats I'm sure you've seen the new Neve MBC by now. I heard the MBC could be clean as the AD+ but more colorful than the Burl ADC. Would like to get one in the studio at some point.

amazing unit , i was torn between this one and Overstayer Modular Channel , but i think this is more proper for mastering .
I`ve heard great things about the overstayer and it was recommended to me but I went with the MBP because it`s more versatile. I might have a Modular Channel on the channel in the future.

I noticed that you didn't use the compressor section at all or use the gain knob to get your mix louder. Was there a reason why the compression was not engaged? Great video!
Yes, I didn`t used the compressor in this video. I was demoing just the silk and the SFE
right now im using neve 1073 dpx going into warm audio bus comp on my master bus i really wanna get this unit but im debating if i should get cl1b for better vocals or this any thoughts brother? i do have a golden age 3a comp for tracking vox atm let me know if you could help please

Hey man, I think that if you are recording you should invest into getting everything right at the source ( eq compressors preamps etc ). After you have that you can start investing into other gear

What is really rhe purpose of the ad +?
I have a 2 bus + so l love dangerous products but l also use apollo interfaces.
If l invest in the mbp do l need a more expensive convertor for it to shine?

I have the Apollo 8 blackface, the Apollo x16, Dangerous dbox, dangerous 2 bus plus, and the convert ad plus.
So I’m using Apollo 8 with dangerous dbox for 8 channels of analog summing
My Apollo x16 and dangerous 2 bus plus provides another 16 channels of analog summing... for a total of 24 channels of analog summing.
The Convert ad plus captures all the audio. The converters of the dangerous convert ad plus is very transparent. It’s very clean and crystal clear. Much better than the converters of my Apollo’s. Don’t get me wrong the converters of my Apollo x16 are top notch. But the convert ad plus has mastering grade converters. It’s built solely for mastering and high definition capture. Plus it has a built in transformer. It’s on another level.

Man I was talking to my rep at sweetwater and I was thinking same thing. I know it can be use as in insert on the 2 bus plus. But the convert ad plus it has two analog inputs. So I’m thinking I should be able to use one of the stereo pair inputs for the Neve. That way I don’t have to use it strictly with the 2 bus plus. On some mixes I like the in the box sound without summing. Just use the Neve on the in the box mixes. We must be twins😂😂😂

Hi, is it possible to master only with MBP or do you also need a separate EQ? thanks
You can do a master just with the MBP but it really depends on the mix. With the silk you can really add some top end ( red silk ) or bottom ( blue silk ) and you have a nice compressor + limiter.
I just picked one of these up :) I am trying to side chain a Kush Audio Electra EQ to the rear of the MBP, am I suppose to use insert cables or regular instrument cables? Long story short I was told to use regular instrument cables but when I push in the side chain button I am not hearing the EQ.
I don`t think that the MBP has a "listen to sidechain" function. You are just able to use the electra eq as the sidechain you`re not able to monitor it. Cheers

Yeah the electra is a nice EQ. Had one for awhile. I wouldn't waste it by using it as a side-chain trigger for the MBP. Literally any cheap EQ will work for that purpose (since its only telling the MBP what frequencies to compress more)...or you could even use a send from your DAW if you have enough outputs.

The link control connects the two compressor channel’s VCA signals and settings, with ch. A as the master. With the inclusion of linked and detented controls, calibrated stereo setup for mastering is made incredibly easy in the MBP. When using the silk circuitry in Link mode, the Silk settings must be matched before Link is engaged. The Silk settings will cycle together when the Ch. A Silk button is pressed in link mode, but if they are not matched before linking, they will always be mismatched.
