Had a similar Leeda/Stedefast version 30 years ago, the lid was reinforced with another piece of plastic screwed on underneath, it looks like most of the screw posts are still there on that lid. The best thing you could do to those boxes back then was throw an Octoplus leg system on, skinny 16mm hexagonal legs that make modern box systems look like scaffolding. I have an Inception station now, definitely wouldn't go back to a black or blue box.
I had a maver box with plastic side trays when I was a kid my first ever box I brought loved it when it's was full of stuff it weighd more than I did but it served me well 😂
Plus back in the day you could buy bait waiters that fit in the slots for the trays and also adjustable pole balling in hooks they were that popular back in the 80's nearly everyone I knew had one
Hi Carl, them diawa boxes are great for those on a budget or are just getting into fishing bcoz of their price and like the Shakespeare version will last a very long time if looked after. I had the Shakespeare version which I brought 30 years ago and it was as sturdy when I sold it a year ago as it was when I first brought it but I did add a leg system from octopus when I first got it along with other attachments which made it like a modern seatbox. Oh and the slots in the front for a side tray go back to the early days when carp anglers used the boxes to put an extra side tray on when they went fishing
They sure are good for them quick sessions and like you said very much like the Shakespeare boxes I like it just as much as my other Seatbox if not a bit more just because of how easy it is to move around and the storage space is fantastic 👍🏻
Hi Carl I've watched a few of your videos and enjoyed them mate keep up the good work . I used to own one of these boxes for years and they do last and like you said they are lightweight and especially for short sessions they are brilliant. I did in the end sell mine mainly because there not so good on uneven ground which a few places I go are. I now and two chairs. The korum s23 compact chair and the slightly bigger s23 Accessory chair and I love them cus there's so many attachments for them and with telescopic legs that I bought separately there great for uneven ground. Having saying all this I do actually miss the box as you can literally put everything you need in the box.
@@martinhassall7884 thank you mate really appreciate the support and yeah that is the only thing like you said if you go somewhere with uneven ground you would have to use a different box or chair, brilliant for most commercials with wooden platforms

It's the old galaxy /shakespeare box we had back in the 80's but we fitted octoplus legs to the and the tackle box that sits inside under the seat

Iv still got the shakespeare inner accessory box that fits on the inner ledge / we all had one in the 1980 fantastic boxes
