Even though you said you made stupid mistakes in replacing the head, I still find it amazing how one has the knowledge to tackle a project like that! We all have our specialties but watching that still fascinated me!

    Nice greetings from Germany.
It hurts my heart that your trucks, excavators, etc. standing there in the rain. Your channel is called 99 projects, so why not another one and build a huge shelter for all your machines. They just don't get any better when they're exposed to the weather and rust even more. Otherwise I really enjoy watching your videos, in Germany such wooden huts are hardly ever built. It's interesting to see how you solve this for yourself. Warm greetings from Germany again :).

I love how Max has no fear and will go wherever you are or ask him to go. He'd have been on that roof with you if he could. My husband and I used to live on a 41' sailboat and one time we did an in-frame rebuild of our Perkins engine - seeing you pull the head on that machine brought back many memories. Good job!!!

When you don't work on machines regularly, It's easy to overlook certain details. I wouldn't feel too bad about a few minor mishaps. The feeling of a good repair is a handsome reward! Good video Buddy.

I can't believe it's been 6 months, the progress you've made has been so interesting to watch. The pine looks amazing and really suits a cabin more than drywall would have anyway. My younger brother has done his share of drywall work and he says of all the jobs he's done drywalling is his least favorite. That seems to be a general consensus for a lot of people I know who have done it. Great job, I love seeing it all come together!

I'm always impressed with your "Can Do" spirit and your tenacity. I was a "Seabee" (US Naval Construction Battalions), as a Steelworker, but we were expected to do anything and everything that we were ordered to do. You would have made a good one. BTW, that's quite a compliment. It is great that you have a company like "Friday Parts" to supply your various needs. I have been following this series since you first bought the cabin. I look forward to seeing it through.👍✌

You replace a head on your excavator because the job needed to get done. My son complained about having to take out the trash and trim the weeds on the walkway. Now, he gets to spend his Saturday and Sunday with me, rebuilding a stone wall for a little 'attitude adjustment time'. Great job on the pine, it fits the spirit of the cabin! Hi Max! Good Dog!

Just started watching your show couple days ago find it really interesting to watch because it reminds me so much of me to learn by doing and of course you’re gonna make mistakes along the way that’s how you learn love what you do you could only do so much to preserve history, but what it gets in the way of making something safe sound and long lasting. 99 Projects, you make mistakes, learn from them, and you acknowledge your mistakes. I am amazed what knowledge you do have, and all you do! You were were born to be mechanically and constructively, and your father too. He would be very proud of you and your videos. I did not know something could come together to get an excavator (learned the name of it) to start it. I learned what you replaced is called a track. I am seeing more what it is to do mechanically or constructively (or restoration), and a man's world with your videos. (I love your dog. He looks interested in what your doing, or loves being around you (sure of that). I love when you ask what does he think, and he gives some reaction. You are very busy, but you stop, and give him attention.) I am amazed what all you are doing to the cabin! (When you were helping your friend trim his trees, the first tree you trimmed, did you notice it looked like a heart shape (not carved) on the trunk of the tree (at least, it looked like it from my side)?) I am anxious to see the finished restoration of the cabin, and watching your videos that I can (educational too).)-(Would there be sand in dirt in Tennessee? Where my father is from, know there is a lot of clay in dirt there.)

So I learned a bit when you changed the head on the excavator. I learned how to look for the cracks in the head and that the tork ? Has to be equal when bolting on the housing? On the head. Learned lots more too.
When I was a girl Dad wouldn’t let me do car mechanics cause I was a girl. Got to hand him tools…
    So yeah thanks. 😀.
If you have a daughter let her do mechanics if she wants to.
    I also wanted a pony.

Not looking for freebies of any kind, I couldn't use anything from the company anyway, I just wanted to say that Max is such a sweet puppy! Excellent job with the tongue & groove, except I bet you're kicking yourself for not positioning the receptacles out far enough to come to the surface of those boards. You're ok, I learn by making mistakes, most of the time, doing things 2 or 3, sometimes 4, times gets me to figure out what I should've done, and why. I'm on the NY/PA border close to where the horizontal starts to go South, I have the same soil. Would have copied and pasted the link to your brother's insulation business to my Facebook feed, but there isn't one in the description, does he have a website? I understand you don't want people showing up uninvited, I respect privacy, just wanted to give props 🙂
