Well, I do have $8,000. I'm currently building a BEAST of a gaming computer first. 5950x cpu, 3090 gpu, 128gb 4000mhz RAM, 4Tb of m.2 (gen 4), etc. etc. I also want a VR headset. I'll probably buy one of these later this year too (assuming they're in stock).

This is why I am going to try and find a job in a company that supplies for the US Government. because when they Governent spends more on my products, the company pays more on paychecks.
Having dealt/seen at least part of DOD contracting, they're marking it up at least in part because dealing with government contracting/procurement is a huge pain. I worked with aerospace simulators, was a dev for it if you will. I left once their VR program was garbage and now PhD in VR. The market for this is untapped and this is the first headset that ive seen that will fill the gap in market as its MoD driven.. theyll eat it up
Maybe the problem is not purely the weight of a vr headset or it's distribution if you have a strong neck and feel comfortable with heavy gear on, but instead the problem is how tight it can be wraped onto your head, because even if it was light if it's not tight enough then it's gonna suck, the other extreme is that it is so firm as if it was welded to your skull so it is like meshed into one single piece with your skull and you can be very active with it on, now the problem there would be if the wearer is strong enough or has some trouble or does find uncomfortable wearing heavy gear
Love my XTAL 8K. We use it for simulator development. This is for seated driving, fighter pilot training, not for beat saber. Varjo didn't have audio either.
you seem to have forgot about the Varjo X3-1 and XR-3 which cost around $11k also the Collins Coalescence MR headset was around $29k The Varjo XR-3 had Mixed reality and eye tracking and being used in Defence simulation now
Your intro reminds me a lot of the song "friend shitai". At around 8 seconds into the song where they sing "watashi tachi wa koko ni imasu" the melody and timing is exactly the same for the "watashi tachi wa koko ni" part
So a little while ago the army came out to my high school to show off what they do in virtual reality. I was so excited since you know that the military has billions to spend, I was sorely disappointed by what I saw. They promised us virtual humve simulators with parachute simulator, a under pressure thinking sim. What we got was a arcade racing “sim” a extremely low res and tiny FOV vr with an interactive chute, and for the under pressure thinking sim was literally just sending waves of air drones game on a HTC vive headset. And what disappointed me the most was that they said it was state of the art VR/AR tech, like my quest 2 runs better then the “$8000 vr” that they had. If they brought out this I would’ve been so much more excited.
If you can afford this, you can afford another 1k for high quality in ear monitors. Even get some made custom for your ears; that sound better than most over ear headsets,
I use one of these for TiltBrush and a separate one for Beat Saber, and then another separate one just for SteamVR Home. I also have one that I wear out to fancy dress events. I hook it up to my phone. For a dash of flair and class, I've attached a bowler to the top, and I've hotglued a monocle on the front.

Bro don't you know he's trying protect us viewers from the virus plague, based!
I.. don’t face reveal. I’ve worn a mask since way before covid on my channel
@@ThrillSeekerVR nah bro i just went back and watched your vids lol you just dont face reveal! Go play vr witha mask on weirdo lol. Still love your vids
Full body tracking video is an example the one posted sep 19 2019.. were was your mask?
All the information was really well sought out. Really great video tbh. Feels better quality than most documentaries or videos about stuff.
I worked with aerospace simulators, was a dev for it if you will. I left once their VR program was garbage and now PhD in VR. The market for this is untapped and this is the first headset that ive seen that will fill the gap in market as its MoD driven.. theyll eat it up
the mask and fingernails are super distracting. not a fan. not hating. just giving feed back. other than that very good information
My guy you’re just homophobic. They’re not you just don’t like feminine stuff.
So did you tested it on pilots simulations (squadrons, elite dangerous, flying simulator etc ...) ?
I actually am a test engineer and have had that headset for over a year now. I call it the Weapon-X headset LOL
you seem to have forgot about the Varjo X3-1 and XR-3 which cost around $11k also the Collins Coalescence MR headset was around $29k
The Varjo XR-3 had Mixed reality and eye tracking and being used in Defence simulation now
Your intro reminds me a lot of the song "friend shitai". At around 8 seconds into the song where they sing "watashi tachi wa koko ni imasu" the melody and timing is exactly the same for the "watashi tachi wa koko ni" part
Is there a video on his setup for suspending the cording on the ceiling?
Doesn't the Vorjo 3 have all this plus and for half the price? + yearly subscription?
If you can afford this, you can afford another 1k for high quality in ear monitors. Even get some made custom for your ears; that sound better than most over ear headsets,
How about Varjo VR headsets?? It would be intresting to hear your toughts about it.
Damn dude your channel really popped off. I'm proud of you bro.
I just got a valve index and the wires from my computer keep getting in the way. Any suggestions?
Bro imagine like 50 years from now kids in school will be learning off your videos on the state of VR back in the day 🤯
What kind of school would teach about VR? A school for lazy people?
I use one of these for TiltBrush and a separate one for Beat Saber, and then another separate one just for SteamVR Home. I also have one that I wear out to fancy dress events. I hook it up to my phone. For a dash of flair and class, I've attached a bowler to the top, and I've hotglued a monocle on the front.
