    wow awesome video! Great to hear how many hours you have on your bike and it's still going strong. I also have a 2019 150 SX but it only a measly 82 hours - she's just getting started!

      I’m right around 530 hours now. Hopefully I’ll convince myself to buy a new bike soon but this one is so good! I’m glad you liked the video.

    Awesome video! I wish there were more content on TH-cam like this because I'm always paranoid about racking up a lot of hours and having something catastrophic happen.

    cool review I have a 2019 150 Xc w with 46 hrs and I run pretty much the same schedule. Also run run the same race/ ethanol free type mixes in all my bikes.. I do have to get better about keeping records. helps when time to sell.

    Thanks for sharing your experience! Those 150s are great machines indeed. I have 270 hrs on my '21.
    Did you do any work on your cylinder, like honing or recoating?

    • @LostEnduro
      @LostEnduro  ปีที่แล้ว

      I run a ball hone through when I change pistons to remove glazing. At 200 hours I put on a ported cylinder I got a deal on, that cylinder was used, and I have since put 300+ hours on it without any reconditioning except a quick hone at piston changes,

    Nice video, what do you do to the bike to get it ready for snow riding?

    • @LostEnduro
      @LostEnduro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Studded tires, rear gets tubliss instead of a bib because the bib offers no traction in winter. I tape up both radiators completely so they get no air flow. I add one of those pre filters to the air filter if the snow is deep. I’ll also add some mud guards to keep the wind off my hands.

      @@LostEnduro sweet! Thanks. I rode my 23’ 125 xc in the winter last year but looking for some improvements for next winter!

    Bro good review, I have a 21 with constant kickstart issues. I have to replace the bushing every 50 hours or the case boss breaks off. Important question, do you have random cold start issues? I think it might be stator related. Mine will only bump start in cold weather, like easy bump start. No possible way to kick it when cold.

    • @LostEnduro
      @LostEnduro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds like a jetting issue to me. I had the same problem when I tried a lectron for a short time. I ended up changing the slide in the mikuni carb after realizing the OEM slide was far too rich, and it made a huge difference in how the bike runs and starts. I didn’t keep the lectron on for long, the mikuni was great after I got it sorted.

    • @gorillam2
      @gorillam2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What slide number and jetting did you end up with just curious, couldnt make lectron work did weird stuff ran good at WFO but that's all.

      @@gorillam2the stock slide is a #4. I went with a 5.75 because I couldn’t find a 5 in stock. Anything is better than that number 4, not even sure how the pilot circuit works with that thing in there.

    yo man i got the same bike, sick vid. Is your fuel mix 40:1 like it says in the manual? I got a good amount of oil leakin out of the exhaust and I'm wondering if it's just too rich or if it's just due to the way I ride it. Don't know if you've ever had that problem.

    • @LostEnduro
      @LostEnduro  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have you adjusted the jetting? They are extremely rich from the factory. Go to a leaner slide cut, 5 to 6 depending on elevation, and adjust your jetting. It will clean up.
      Riding definitely has something to do with it, but jetting is a big part as well. The fuel mixture has practically nothing to do with spooge.

    • @ccavempt
      @ccavempt 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LostEnduro I have not touched the jetting yet but I will look into that as well as your other recommendations, I really appreciate it. This is my first 2 stroke so it's all new to me lol

    8 pistons. Did you ever just re ring or always a new piston? 1 or 2 ring?

    • @LostEnduro
      @LostEnduro  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I always changed the piston and all the brands I have used are 2 ring style. I’ve used vertex, OEM, ProX and wiseco. Im at 527 hours now and she’s still going strong.

    When did you have to do transmission bearings and how did you know they were bad?

    • @LostEnduro
      @LostEnduro  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did transmission bearings with the crank at 330 hours. There was no sign they were bad but I chose to since it was already apart. I’m at 550 hours and just finished a 3hr hare scramble last weekend.

    Wow crank at 300 hours my bike has about 90 hours on it I think it may have 20 more on the crank but I do top ends every 40 hours I ride Mx pretty damn hard. How do you know when the crank is due is it just if there is up and down play on the rod? I have the same exact bike btw

    • @LostEnduro
      @LostEnduro  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Up and down rod play is how I check, and obviously any visual signs of damage like discoloration.

    Do you think the ktm 150 sx would be a good beginner bike for trail riding? I'm 6 foot 200 lbs

    • @LostEnduro
      @LostEnduro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I do, the only downside would be the lack of estart. It doesn’t bother me too much, but a newer rider may stall a lot and wish they had a estart to make things easier.
      They are great bikes though!

    • @jzezulka2357

      @@LostEnduro cool thanks for the response. Also, I initially wanted to take the trails a little slow and wondered if they have any bottom end. KTM 150sx go for around 3k aroundand ktm 150 xcws are like 4-5k so do you think it's worth speending the extra 2k for a xcw?

    • @LostEnduro
      @LostEnduro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Both would do you great. They each have upsides and downsides, but they are minor! I love my 150sx and my girlfriend loves her 150xcw. You won’t regret either one!

  • @MountainMXOfficial
    @MountainMXOfficial 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If you weren't going too crazy could you get longer out of the top end? I'm looking at getting something like a 2016 Ktm 150 Sx sometime but I'm a little worried I'm too big at 6'1 200lbs ish haha.

    • @LostEnduro
      @LostEnduro  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can go longer for sure before risking a failure. None of my pistons ever appear to be failing, just lower on compression than I like.

      555.6 hours as of today, took it to scout some new trails to cut this winter. I just got a 2024 125xc so I’ll probably compare them and do a final review on this bike before I sell it.
