It’s a mighty 125. I had a 250 and 300 but enjoy racing the 125 more. I’m not going pro in this lifetime, so it’s all about the fun for me.

It was the kickstart idler gear falling off the boss. The bike ran fine.

It allows it to rev and pull much harder top end. So you will have a louder and more aggressive sound in that RPM range just because of how the bike runs.

Sold the bike at 560 hours two weeks ago, gonna drop a final review video I made soon. Just need to find the time to finish editing.

You can go longer for sure before risking a failure. None of my pistons ever appear to be failing, just lower on compression than I like.

The idler gear bushing wears out and allows the idler gear to fall off the boss. Then the kicker doesn’t engage the clutch hub to spin it. Buy the idler gear bushing and replace it. If the boss has wear, you can tap it and put a washer and bolt in to hold it in place.

@@LostEnduro thank you I ordered a new one a while ago and for some reason it’s still doing it I don’t get it.

@@proronster4564 the bushing will wear the boss the gear mounts on if it goes bad and is used too long. No way to tell this until it’s too late. If you replaced it you saw the hole in the boss. I tapped mine (m6x1.0 I think) and used a large fender washer and flat head socket cap screw to make sure the gear could not fall off the boss. That was over 100 hours ago and it’s still going strong. You should not need to drill the hole, it is the correct size to be threaded.

555.6 hours as of today, took it to scout some new trails to cut this winter. I just got a 2024 125xc so I’ll probably compare them and do a final review on this bike before I sell it.

That sounds like a jetting issue to me. I had the same problem when I tried a lectron for a short time. I ended up changing the slide in the mikuni carb after realizing the OEM slide was far too rich, and it made a huge difference in how the bike runs and starts. I didn’t keep the lectron on for long, the mikuni was great after I got it sorted.

What slide number and jetting did you end up with just curious, couldnt make lectron work did weird stuff ran good at WFO but that's all. @@LostEnduro

@@gorillam2the stock slide is a #4. I went with a 5.75 because I couldn’t find a 5 in stock. Anything is better than that number 4, not even sure how the pilot circuit works with that thing in there.

One time I saw a guy with no exhaust and no back tire. Craziest shit I ever saw. To this day I don’t know which one he lost first.

I did transmission bearings with the crank at 330 hours. There was no sign they were bad but I chose to since it was already apart. I’m at 550 hours and just finished a 3hr hare scramble last weekend.

The Allegheny National Forest is about 2 hours north of Altoona. It’s got some easier fun trails though! Definitely worth checking out.

It’s a pretty far trip for me to go, at the very least it would be nice to have something marked for bikes. I’m sure, somewhere, there is some hidden. But that does me no good. I feel you pain on that one.

People on the east coast don't know how to take care of anything never mind free stuff... I you find a nice place to ride don't tell anyone that is the only way to keep good trail to stay good...

Yes I do, the only downside would be the lack of estart. It doesn’t bother me too much, but a newer rider may stall a lot and wish they had a estart to make things easier. They are great bikes though!

@@LostEnduro cool thanks for the response. Also, I initially wanted to take the trails a little slow and wondered if they have any bottom end. KTM 150sx go for around 3k aroundand ktm 150 xcws are like 4-5k so do you think it's worth speending the extra 2k for a xcw?

Both would do you great. They each have upsides and downsides, but they are minor! I love my 150sx and my girlfriend loves her 150xcw. You won’t regret either one!

We covered almost the entire property owned by AOAA. I run GPS with property lines. Being a pay to ride place, I treated it as such and followed the marked trails and rules. I’ll gladly share my GPS track with you and you can show me where the “good” riding is!

@LostEnduro I agree that PA has a terrible selection of riding for dirt bikes, most places require an annual membership also... so I take what I can get I guess

Very possible it was us! We were all over the place and put a lot of miles on. It was definitely warm too. If ya ever see us again, wave us down and say hello!

All the singletrack is one way, so no worries about speed or collisions. There may be a section or two with a little mud or a very small hill that the child may find technical but it’s very beginner and child friendly. You cross Gentle Ben a lot, so it’s real easy to bail out onto a green level atv trail at any time.

Studded tires, rear gets tubliss instead of a bib because the bib offers no traction in winter. I tape up both radiators completely so they get no air flow. I add one of those pre filters to the air filter if the snow is deep. I’ll also add some mud guards to keep the wind off my hands.
