I came up with a fun idea for people who like to make up characters. Feel free to try this: Pick out an art supply or something that you can have a collection of, that comes in colour variations that have their own names. For example: art supplies, makeup, nail polish, sparkles, dyes, heck you could even use things like scarves or hats or even candy! Mix up everything you have, whether it be from only one of your named collections, or multiple if you want. Now pick one of the items without being able to see them. You're then going to make a character inspired by the name of the colour and use the colour, or if it's not an art supply, pick out a supply of the closest colour you have to it, in the medium you've chosen to create your character, and use it in the design. If you do this, come let me know and I'll go look at it if I have a way to do so ^-^
I did this after reading your comment, even though I didn’t create a human, I got black *sadly because it’s pretty boring in my bright style of art* so I created a black cat hanging out with a pack of wolves, acting like it was the leader. Personally a great idea. I haven’t finished coloring, I’ve just sketched. FYI, I won’t post it anywhere sorry!
I’m gonna try this! I’m exited ^^ Edit: Apparently I have to work with black also... I chose by slapping my hand on one of my pencil swatches and choosing a finger and whatever color that finger landed on was the one I was going with... so I chose to make a lazy melanistic leopard. I am actually doing this virtually on procreate tho... hopefully that’s not breaking the rules
Mira, I know that this is not news to you...but I love that you like my Mom are left handed...She passed away a few days ago, and watching someone paint and draw as she would have written gives me such joy.

In this video you mention to take inspiration from your favorite artist pieces and I love doing that with youtubers like you. Every video I take my favorite art pieces from someone’s video and use it as inspiration to try and new style and new ideas. It’s really helpful to get an idea of your style and what you like to draw or paint.
@@rien9265 they’re the Caran D’Ache Luminance and pretty expensive, but there are different sized sets and also singles. They do a range called Pablo that are pretty good too, similar quality to Polychromos, and Arteza is a good cheaper option.
We used to call them 'scribble pages' when I was young. We'd each do our own and compare them, it was fun cuz there were no 2 alike. I love the gradient style you used. Your page was beautiful, thank you for bringing back fun memories for me.
Loved that scribble! I actually use that when I am with my students and we are working with our colored pencils! Helps with their coloring pressure...!

I know you have so many good ideas and your videos are so FUN! I have been doing some Rock paintings, nothing worth posting, but little stones of happiness to leave around town to brighten someones day. I don't know who to credit for doing this, but you might want to show your viewers how to create stones of happiness on your channel? Brighten or bring happiness to your town or city! I have a design mini sketch book where I have sections for Mandalas, zentangles, zentangle tile puzzle, and interesting lines. I ended up with an entire print series thanks to the zentangle section of that sketchbook that I'm going to combine in a colouring book as well!
I get so excited to see your videos because your ideas and techniques are achievable for the average person, like me. It's also really good to recommend to clients for maintenance of mental health. Yay, I love your sketchbook videos! Been struggling with anxiety and depression for the past year (I've had it forever but the last year has been difficult) so I've abandoned all my hobbies. I've felt myself missing getting my art stuff out lately so this video came at the perfect time!
Thanks for these ideas - the scribble colouring was perfect to experiment with mixing watercolours, controlling gradients in tight places (and using up the last weird bits of paint on my palette).
The draw this again challenge is a healthy way of seeing your progress and style changes. Great video presented in a calming relaxing way that helps encourage less stress.
One thing I like to do is listen to these videos while free drawing not even doing the ideas but still listening, It’s a really nice idea because you can save time!

I have been doing something kind of similar to the Monet thing, but with city scapes, because I moved to Los Angeles and I have been inspired to paint what’s around me, BUT I try different styles kind of like what if Monet painted the Los Angeles skyline, I love your little sky characters, I hope you make a sticker set out of those I will for sure snap those up if you do!

Ooh the painting/drawing from the Starbucks Cubs from last video !! So pretty! The leave just pops out of your sketchbook. Such a beautiful mandala design :) I started drawing them 2 weeks ngo. Drawing mandala’s is fun and stressrelief, I hate coloring them as they give me more stress. I’m always under stress, just being at home gives me stress or go for a walk brings stress :/
I really like the leaf with the deep evergreen background and the gold on top!! 🌲 Your little critter faces make everything cuter!! 😍 Maybe a forest of critters?
I love when you do videos like this! What you did with the foxes is so cute and clever. Using multiple mediums for one drawing/painting opened up a whole new world of art for me. I knew you were going to break out that gold pen at some point! LOL 21:07. Yes, I have done Mandalas and it is a good exercise to strengthen creativity. At first, my designs seemed TOO repetitive by relying on the same squiggly line formations, plus they were pretty wonky LOL, but they did improve.

The mountain thingy, overlapping the colors, is a great excersise for watercolor. Just take 1 color and darken the color as you go!
