I love the flowers that you created by using just lines! So creative! And I appreciate your comments regarding what art is and isn’t. I enjoy painting and will never be a Monet or Picasso, but I have FUN! Thank you, Paula, for your encouraging words. ❤
Yes to the prints! I am not working at this time, but how cool would it be to have a Creative Paula Print! Love the all of the pages. I especially am appreciative of the reminder to give ourselves permission to just have fun and create. If you don't like it, it's ok! I always say cry a river, build a bridge, and get over it. The nice way to say it on this chanel would be...have an artistic tantrum, draw a bridge, and turn the page...it's only paper. XOKO❣❣❣
Thank you for giving me the courage to attempt art! I’ve always been somewhat creative, but art was beyond my realm of possibility. At 74 years old, I am having fun. Sometime would you do a video discussing how you know which markers to use…water, acrylic, alcohol, etc? Thank you again and blessings…
I’m so grateful and hounded I’ve inspired you somehow! The marker video is on my list! I really feel I need to share in detail what I think about all of them 😊
Your comments regarding art being more than trying to compete with museum standard art works and more about how we feel when create resonated with me. Thank you for sharing xx loved your flower image
Speaking of stories, I once went to a painting workshop. I love painting and drawing, I know what a brush and paint are, I said why not. I went alone, I was very happy because I'm usually a closed type of person but I gathered the courage to do it. And so I came and other people started coming but all in pairs, just me, alone. It started off great, at first we were all concentrated and working but as time went on people started to relax and talk to their companions, and I was still alone feeling like a weirdo. Suddenly I was overcome with such nervousness, I completely lost myself. The topic was simple and real, in normal situations I would have done it without a problem, but then the whole atmosphere shook me, I messed up the topic, I felt uncomfortable, I wondered what I was doing here, why I even came. Basically, it was an unpleasant experience at the time. Now, more than a year later, I can't describe to myself how much I pushed myself into the unknown, took that step and did something that now seems so funny and innocent to me. That's when I told myself and learned to never give up. What doesn't kills you makes you stronger and this really made me stronger. And yes, I still have that painting as a reminder. 😁 It may seem banal to some, but at the time it seemed like a huge gray cloud over me. Now I'm working on my first small collection of paintings with great confidence. ❤ This is what I love about your videos, you give strength to others through your personal experiences, you show your vulnerable side. I think people should push each other more and support each other instead of mostly judging. Yes, we're not all at the same skill level, but that shouldn't hold us back or stop us from even trying. That's why there's practice. Practice, practice, practice. That's what I've been teaching myself this whole year and I intend to do it next year and others should too. Just go for it.🧡
Fun creative exercises! My favorite is the 2nd one with doodle flower art ♥ I think play sessions where you are bringing out your inner child are important for your peace of mind.
I just wanted to comment and say I love how you were holding the markers at first coloring the 3rd one. When you were just laying the colors down at first! I love to do that. It's nice to hold things differently sometimes! The tree is so gorgeous!!!!!!
I especially love the tree and the brightly colored art! My favorite part about art is the child-like feeling it gives me!!! Thank you for your videos!!! 🎉😊
wow! The floral page is beautiful! Love it as a "mock up" too. ❣💮 Great pages and mock ups. and I agree with you ... art making for fun and for yourself is very important, and for me, a "necessity". 😊👍🏼
My goodness.. that is exactly what I needed to hear ❤😢 .. this video will be a repeat for me! Until my brain remembers the words you spoke and translates them into my ❤ Thank you !
Paula I love your channel. Thank you for inspiring me and giving me ‘permission’ to just play and not feel like it has to be museum quality. I’m a beginner and often get stuck because I don’t know what to do and don’t get the results I hope for. But I do enjoy the process and your art makes me happy. 😊
Your videos are the most inspiring on youtube! I love the sketchbook ones, especially how you share your stories so open and beautifully. Thank you for spreading this incredible energy of yours :D
Paula, I love your channel, especially your sketchbook ideas. Unlike a lot of artists out there, your ideas actually feel do-able! It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm getting my very first set of watercolor paints (inspired by you!). I can't wait to try them out and can see me trying some of your ideas today with the watercolors. THANK YOU for sharing your ideas and being such a beautiful soul
This makes me want those markers so much! I love the softer shades, but truthfully, your child's play page was my favorite. Thanks for another fun and inspiring video.
So beautiful!! ❤ I really loved the rainbow random abstract colors!! 🌈 The space page was cool next to it as well!! 🌏 Of course, I loved the off camera rainbow as well!! 🥰 I wanted to see the space one on a wall, too... It was lovely, but perhaps not your style? Your trees are wonderful, as were the flowers!! 😍 Colorful additions to your sketchbook practice!!🎨
Hi Paula! I've seen paintings and art projects before that looked like the tree what you drew/painted, but never known how to absolve it nor never was brave enough to try it. This paint through and explanation was sooo helpful! Thank you! Now I feel like I can do it too, or at least I have courage to try it. That's why I really like your content! You encourage me to be an artist even though I am not the most talented artist ever. Thank you so much💝💖
I'm always excited for your sketchbook ideas but this one was very special because I accidentally ordered waterbased Ohuhu markers and just started playing with them yesterday. I used them with some water to create some watercolor art, it was so much fun experimenting this way.
My dear friend Paula you had me in tears....good ones when you was telling the story about the woman and thats its ok to just let go and have those feelings with art....ive had those hard convos several times ecspecially during a art tantrum...but through alot of your videos i have learnt its ok to have those feelings and to feel right through them and thats where alot of my creations have come from most of them im so excited about but some ive just dealt with....thank you again so much for your videos and all the inspirations from them!!!😊
You are so welcome! Yes we’ve all been there and it’s hard to release because unseen things are normally what hold us. I’m so grateful you enjoyed this video ❤️
I LOVE these ideas. I love all of your sketchbook videos (as I might have said before 😂) but these ideas particularly, I loved a lot. I've been soooo busy for a month or two with my theatre group, but now I'm feeling ready to get my sketchbook out again!
By the way, your speech about feeling invalid about your own creativity made me feel a lot of feelings, because I've spent too much of my life with those exact feelings. Thank you for making me feel so understood, and so inspired 😭❤️
Omg!!! I love ALL the drawings you made with the new markers!!! 🥹💖 They’re sooo pretty and creative, I can’t even pick a favorite! 🎨✨ You’re so talented, and it’s so fun watching you try the markers and make such cool art!! 🖍️🌈 I wanna draw like you one day!! 🥰💛 Can’t wait to see more!! 😍💜
That story about the woman in your workshop makes me a little emotional. For many of us childhood was a wonderful carefree time. Maybe her childhood was not a safe space for her and she felt too vulnerable going back there. I'm so glad the artistic tantrum made a small cameo this episode 😂I both hate and love to observe your frustration and how you overcome it!
Oh yay thank you so much for ordering a copy!!! Right? Is the only natural thing to do! Haha the markers look so beautiful in their case it’s irresistible!
HI Paula - they are all quite nice and I am making some of them (in my own way of course) and also using every color (in some of course). I really like the one where you tell about the workshop.... That's less predictable. Thx so much. I found the form finally and it's working and I filled it out and submitted it. Hoping to win (of course). Hugs.
I do not, under any circumstances, need more markers. However…those fine points!! I’ve never seen a marker with a brush nib and a fine point. I’ll be keeping this set in mind for someday. As always your sketchbook ideas are excellent! Very approachable. I can tell how much you enjoy your art practice. I need to work on letting the perfectionism go and just enjoy my sketchbooks. The neutral color flowers was my favorite. ❤️
It's difficult to let go... especially if you're in a place in your life you don't feel safe (and I don't mean your workshop... I'm glad you can feel comfortable enough to draw like a child ^_^
The sketchbook videos make me believe I could create beautiful prints to hang on my walls, but mine would look like a kindergarten child! Maybe j should just go for it?
Fun! I'm finally one of the first to comment! I'm usually last for everything! I was just scrolling through my TH-cam feed and did a double take! Creative Paula had posted a Sketchbook video! These are my favorite! Thank you for sharing this beautiful work. I can see how much ❤️ you put into everything you create.
Wait, were you in Italy ? Where was i ? Why i dudn't know of this event ? It would be great to partecipate in your workshop and to meet you in person. Maybe next time ? As always your sketches are inspirational. Cheers from Italy. Dan 🧡
It's a bummer that Italian gal didn't stick around when the translator returned, so you could communicate better. Maybe a friend who did the workshop talked to her later, and she understood it better. Anyway, fun video as always. I like the super bright happy page =)
Paula, these pens are absolutely brilliant. I got them and I love them. Sometimes I find a bit difficult to blend but I managed to succeed last night. If anybody could do me a favour, give me some people jumping onto my channel and having a look at what I do and give me a thumbs up and possibly subscribe. Good job on your colouring book Paula I have it in my Amazon basket waiting for when I get paid so I can buy it. I’m planning on doing a video of doing one of the pictures in your book if that’s okay with you.?
Don’t forget to grab your discount code from the description!
What’s your to go supply for your sketchbook time?
I love the flowers that you created by using just lines! So creative! And I appreciate your comments regarding what art is and isn’t. I enjoy painting and will never be a Monet or Picasso, but I have FUN! Thank you, Paula, for your encouraging words. ❤
I 100% agree that playing intuitively is so valuable!
You are so right! We all judge ourselves about our art instead of asking how we felt creating it
Yes to the prints! I am not working at this time, but how cool would it be to have a Creative Paula Print! Love the all of the pages. I just love to watch your sketchbook videos ❤❤
Thank you! ☺️
Those flowers you did after playing around are fantastic! This was such a visually fun video!

I love adding random little squiggles and lines too, it's such a fun way of creating (and basically how I filled my entire daily doodle diary haha 😂)
Thank you for your constant inspiration and kind words of encouragement 💚
