💬 Which art supply are you most excited to try in 2025? Or is there one you already love? Let me know below! 👇✨ I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas for future videos-your feedback inspires me!
Over the years I have ‘collected’ far too many mediums that have left me with that butterfly syndrome. Flitting from flower to flower, never settling which means never mastering any of them. I am well into reclaiming my art space ready for 2025 and my main focus will be on gouache, a new medium for me, in sketchbooks. I have all my gouache basics ready and as soon as my little room is back to what it was when I packed art in, I will be settling on and learning what I can about gouache. Sketching using pencils, graphite or colour will remain as I believe anyone with any interest in art should sketch for inspiration, simplicity of materials but, above all else, also for fun. I have enjoyed all you videos and I hope there will be many more to come in the coming year. Who knows, maybe in a few months I will have something worth sharing 🙏
Hi Graham! Oh, I know *exactly* what you mean about butterfly syndrome-so many tempting art supplies, so little time to master them all! 🦋✨ I hope reclaiming your art space is going well, such a rewarding project. Its great that you’re focusing on gouache for 2025. Gouache is such a fantastic medium-so versatile and forgiving. Sketching with pencils and graphite sounds is the perfect companion too and I completely agree that sketching is pure joy and such a great way to stay inspired. Thank you so much for your kind words about my videos-it truly means the world to me! ❤️🙏 I’m cheering you on in your gouache journey, and I’d love to see your progress when you’re ready to share. I will be there to support you. 😉 Here’s to a creative and colourful 2025! 🖌️📚
I’m so with you, @elaineporter182! 🖤✨ Blackwing pencils are pure magic, whether you’re sketching or writing-there’s just something about that silky flow, isn’t there? ✍️🎨 They make even the simplest scribble feel fancy! 😄 Thank you so much for watching and sharing your love for these dreamy pencils-I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment! 😊💖
I've just realised that I never finished watching your vid as I'd popped off to order the Graphitint palette!! Having had a play and loved the results I'm hooked with the finish, with the added bonus of changing the tone with an eraser. Now I'm back I'm off to take yet another look at caran d'ache ll crayons. I just love the tin. Here's a question - though I love tins I do love a good pencil case, so I wonder what to do with the empty tins..... Loving watching a fellow completest at work. Thanks for sharing💕
Hi @suehall3389! 😊 Oh, I absolutely love this-halfway through the video and straight off to order the Graphitint palette? That’s dedication! 🎨😂 Aren’t they amazing? The finish is great, and the fact you can tweak them with an eraser feels like magic. 🪄 Ah, the eternal tin vs pencil case debate-I feel this deeply! 😂 Tins are so satisfying (and let’s be honest, pretty), but there’s nothing like the convenience of a pencil case. I love those red tins - so joyful. Maybe the tins could double as mini art supply organisers - you could make watercolour palettes if you stick in pans with magnetic tape? Or what about complete travel kits or just a nice place to store random treasures? 😉 Thank you so much for watching (even in stages!) and taking the time to comment-it means the world! ❤️ Keep having fun with all the arty goodness! xx
I’m right there with you, @vickilee6335! 😍 The Derwent Drawing Pencils and Neocolor crayons are absolute gems! 🎨✨ The Derwent pencils have such a rich, smooth feel, and Neocolors are perfect for adding those vibrant pops of color! 🌈🖌️ Thanks so much for sharing what you love, and for watching-I really appreciate you watching and commenting! 😊💖
Thankyou Sarah - look forward to seeing your comparison of the Derwent paint pan sets 😊 I will be happy in 2025 if I can just get out and use the many supplies I have bought and neglected in 2024 😉😀
You’re so welcome, @triciabennetts6578! 😊🎉 I’m excited for the Derwent paint pan comparison too! 😄 And I totally get that feeling! Sometimes the art supplies pile up faster than we can use them, right? 😂 But 2025 is the perfect year for rediscovering them-let’s make it an art-filled year! 🎨✨ Thanks so much for watching and sharing, I really appreciate all your support. 💖
I received the Derwent inktense pan set for Christmas and absolutely love it. Perfect for travelling too. I had a play around with the colours earlier. I like using fine liners to create flowers on top of colour block.
That’s wonderful, @jhodieking6172! 🎉🎨 The Derwent Inktense pan set is such a fantastic gift-so vibrant and versatile! 🌈💖 And yes, perfect for travelling, aren’t they? I love your idea of combining them with fine liners to create flowers on top of colour blocks-such a creative and beautiful technique! 🌸🖌️ Thank you so much for sharing and for watching-I really appreciate you! 😊✨
I love using gouache, oil pastels, and neocolor crayons .These mediums are my favorite!! I also like working with graphite and pastels, but it's messy!
I love your medium choices, @adrianaelliott5620! 🎨💖 Gouache, oil pastels (that's my next video, stay tuned😉 ), and Neocolor crayons are such a fantastic combo-they’re like the ultimate creative dream team! ✨ And yes, graphite and pastels can definitely get a little messy, but that’s part of the fun, right? 😄🎉 Thanks so much for sharing your favourites and for watching-I really appreciate you watching and commenting! 😊🌟

I have watched many channels of 2024 favorite art supplies and it got me thinking if I had to choose only 3 supplies ( I have many more than 3) I would have to have my graphite pencil set - colored pencils I use a mixture of 3 different brands and my Neo- color 2…I got the neocolors for my birthday and I use them constantly…I use all my supplies throughout the year ,I too enjoy my Derwent paint pan sets and the drawing pencils ,graphitint pencils and Inktense pencils….I need to explore my gouache more in the coming year…. Thank you so much for your lovely videoes…
Hi Pamela! Wow, narrowing it down to just three art supplies is such a fun and challenging exercise! 🎨✏️ Your top picks are fantastic-graphite pencils, coloured pencils, and Neocolor 2s? Perfection! 😍 How wonderful that the Neocolors were a birthday gift-they’re such a joy to use. 🎁✨ I love hearing how much you enjoy your supplies throughout the year-it’s clear you get so much creative joy from them. Hi Wilma! 😊 Thank you so much-I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! ❤️ Haha, I totally get it-art supplies can be so tempting! 🎨😂 But it sounds like you’ve got an amazing stash to explore and enjoy already. Gouache and Inktense are such fabulous go-to favorites-I love how versatile they are! 🖌️✨ Wishing you a wonderful and super creative 2025 as well! Thank you for watching and for your lovely comment-it means so much to me! ❤️🎉
Fabulous video. I think I own every art supply you showed apart from the tubed gouache and the unison pastels. I love inktense and the graphitint and are probably my most used art supplies. Although I’ve recently started using the gouache pans and I’m enjoying those at the moment along with neocolors. So many possibilities!
Hi Evette! Thank you so much-I’m thrilled you enjoyed the video! 😊❤️ Wow, you’ve got quite the art supply treasure trove-what fun to have so many options at your fingertips! 🎨✨ Inktense and Graphitint are such fantastic staples, and it sounds like you’re making great use of them. I’m so glad you’re enjoying the gouache pans and Neocolors too-they’re both so versatile and full of creative possibilities. 🖌️🖍️ Isn’t it amazing how every medium brings something unique to the table? Thank you for being part of the channel-it truly means the world to me! Here’s to many more creative adventures with your supplies! ❤️🎉

I loved watching this video especially the recommendations on Derwent drawing and graphing pencils! I asked for these for christmas and cannot wait to try them out! Love you art work and seeing you out and about trying new materials!💕
Hi Kinsey! 😊 Thank you so much for your kind words-I’m so happy you enjoyed the video! 💕 How exciting that you’ve got Derwent drawing and graphite pencils from your Christmas list! 🎄🎨 I’m sure you’ll love them-they’re such a joy to use! I really appreciate your support, and I’m thrilled you enjoy seeing my art and new material adventures. Keep me posted on what you create with your new supplies! 😍🖌️ Thank you again for watching! 💖
Luminance colors pencils are what managed to make me love color pencils after years of hating them ❤ i really like all your recommendations! I think i'll try to use more pastels next year. I got a introductory set this year and have almost use it up, it's a very fun medium ❤
That’s amazing, @Narja23! 🥳✨ Luminance pencils really are magical, aren’t they? 🎨🖍️ I’m so glad they helped you fall in love with coloured pencils again-what a colourful comeback! ❤️ And yay for pastels! They’re so fun and expressive, aren’t they? 🖌️💖 It sounds like you’ve been having a blast with them, and I can’t wait to see where your pastel adventures take you next year! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your creative journey! 😊✨
Yay, Marmy! 🎉 Caran D’Ache gouache buddies unite! 🖌️😍 Isn't it just the dreamiest to work with & that tin. So vibrant-I could go on about it all day! 🎨💖 Thanks so much for watching and sharing your love for it. I appreciate you! 😊✨
Thank you so much, @hsteil! 😊🎉 I’m thrilled you enjoyed the review and loved all the mediums-art supplies are just the best kind of treat, right? 🍭🎨 Your support means so much to me. Thanks for subscribing and being part of the creative adventure! 🖌️✨💖
Aww, @ankigatoni6967, don’t sell yourself short! 😊 You’re definitely an artist-whether you’re just starting or have been creating for years! 🎨✨ Neocolor 2 crayons are such a fun medium, and those Inktense pencils will take you on a whole new creative adventure! 😍🖌️ Have fun playing with them-you’ll love how vibrant they are! 💖 Thanks so much for watching and sharing your art journey with me-I really appreciate you watching and commenting! 😊🎉
I love my art graph! It’s one of my favourite sketching tools. Neocolors are so fun, but my boyfriend has kinda taken over my set, so I might need to grab another tin and hide it. Jeje
Hi @InkNSap! 😊 Oh, Art Graph is such a fantastic tool-I totally get why it’s one of your favourites for sketching! 🎨✨ And Neocolors are so much fun-I can see why your boyfriend couldn’t resist them! 😂 Maybe a secret stash is the way to go-one tin for you and one for sharing! 😉 Thanks so much for watching and commenting-it really means a lot! Wishing you (and your Neocolors) tons of creative adventures ahead! 🖌️💖
I thought I would really practice and use watercolors this year. I ended up just loving using colored pencils, especially the Prismacolor and the Derwent. I’m curious now about the graphite tints, so I put a set on my wish list.
Hi Diane! It sounds like you’ve had a wonderfully colourful year-Prismacolor and Derwent colored pencils are such a dream to work with, aren’t they? 🎨❤️ Sometimes we start with one plan and end up finding unexpected favorites-that’s the beauty of exploring art! ✏️✨ I think you’ll *love* the Graphitint pencils-they’re such a unique blend of subtle colour and graphite depth. Adding them to your wish list is a fantastic idea-here’s hoping they make their way to you soon! 😉 Thank you so much for watching and sharing your journey-it means so much to me! ❤️ Wishing you even more creative adventures in the year ahead! 🖌️🎉
Hi Wilma! 😊 Thanks so much for your comment! What a great idea, I’d be happy to share more about my pencil cases in future videos! ✏️🎨 They’re always a bit of a mix-and-match collection, but I think it could be fun to dive deeper into how I organise my supplies. Thanks for watching, and I really appreciate you taking the time to comment! 🙏✨
Hi Zoe! Thank you so much-I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! ❤️ Oh, aren’t the Derwent Graphitint and Inktense pencils just amazing? They’re like little magic wands for adding depth and vibrancy. ✨ Perfect for creating texture or laying down a beautiful base layer. 🎨 I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment-it means the world to me! Wishing you tons of creative inspiration with those pencils and beyond! 🖌️❤️
Hi Dianne! 😊 Thank you so much for your kind words-I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! 🎨✨ It really means a lot that you took the time to watch and comment. Wishing you lots of creative inspiration ahead! ❤️🖌️
You’re absolutely right, @veystone2580! 💧🎨 All soft pastels can be activated with water, and it’s such a fun way to play with them and create soft, dreamy effects! 😍🌈 Thanks for for watching and commenting it so appreciated. 😊💖
I really want to explore my derwent more. I went on a bit of a spree early in the year and got a few bits then of course I added the drawing pencils 😜. I’d love to get the graphitint pan set but as I can’t choose between the 2 sets I’ll just have to get the 24 set 😉. Have u tried the paint pens? I’m intrigued but the colour range isn’t great.
Hi Julianne! 😊 Thank you so much for your comment and for all your support-I truly appreciate it! 💖 It sounds like you’ve had a fun time exploring your Derwent supplies! 😄 The 24-set of Graphitint though is the awesome choice-you’ll have so many creative possibilities to dive into! 🎨 As for the paint pens, no way, I haven’t tried them. I didnt know!! 🤔 ooooh. 😂 Thanks again for watching and sharing your thoughts-I wish you the best Julianne for 2025 & I’m excited find out what you create with your supplies! 🎉
@@sarahclementsart You're very welcome I've actually not done much exploring, not enough anyway. I decided to hand paint cards in a more commercial style than my norm so that's distracted me from my exploring. They're (or were a couple of days ago) reduced on cult pens (careful I'm an experienced enabler rofl). Ah i've found a derwent you haven't tried! Interesting, so who will get them first you or me 🤣? Aww and for you! Onwards and upwards my dear for both of us, let's hope.x
Do you have a link for the Derwent Drawing collection you show here? The set I found on Amazon in the US seems to be different colors than what you have. Many thanks!!
Hey Jason! 😊✏️ Here are my links for the 24 Derwent Drawing Pencil sets. I’ve also included the 12-set since I briefly showed that. 🎨 Just a heads-up-my sets have gotten a bit muddled over the years! 😅 Jacksons - Derwent : Drawing Pencil : Set of 24 tidd.ly/3zOQzhX Uk Amazon - Derwent : Drawing Pencil : Set of 24 amzn.to/3ZVO6wD USA Amazon - Derwent : Drawing Pencil : Set of 24 amzn.to/4fmrXwd Canada Amazon - Derwent : Drawing Pencil : Set of 24 amzn.to/48tVtxF Jacksons - Derwent : Drawing Pencil : Set of 12 tidd.ly/402qIxB UK Amazon - Derwent : Drawing Pencil : Set of 12 amzn.to/4f3BMPJ USA Amazon - Derwent : Drawing Pencil : Set of 12 amzn.to/4hmaaXK
@ thanks so much for the information! Very kind of you! But that is not the set I was referring to. It the drawing set that also include the brown tone charcoal sticks, your caption reads “ does anyone else have these”. I tried to include a screen shot but cant figure out how to attach it! Sorry
Interested to see what’s think about the caran dache gouache pans. I’m traditional and prefer using gouache fresh. I’m surprised how u say gouache as I was taught it was goo ash when I first went to art college in 1990. Then hearing how the Americans said it I looked it up and it says English is goo ash but American is more like goo wash. Did u change how u said it or have u always said it that way? It’s fascinating how language changes over time.
I’m definitely interested to use the Caran d'Ache gouache pans more next year. The bunny and squirrel were done with the pans last year and I was really impressed. I've also dabbled with them while sketching which has been fun.😄 I love that you’re a traditional gouache user-there’s something so satisfying about working with it fresh though and it takes me back to my A-level art! 🖌️💖 As for the pronunciation, that’s such an interesting observation! 🤔 Do you know I cant even remember anymore. I think, but I could be wrong I've always said “goo-wash,” I think I was taught that but now I’m wondering if I’ve picked it up from the American pronunciation over time. You’re absolutely right-language really does change and evolve, doesn’t it? I hear “goo-ash” loads here in the UK , so it’s fun to think about how we all end up saying things differently! Now I'm questioning myself...😂 Wishing you tons of creative inspiration with your gouache! ✨🎨
@@sarahclementsart I didn't realise you'd already tried them I think I missed that bit (easy done with me lol). It's so creamy and lush to work with fresh, i'm not overly fond of acrylic though I think it's the plastickiness. Speaking of which I had to buy some new gouache lately as i stupidly did a dry palette and it failed to mould and it was my 30 odd year old Winsor & newton so I'm gutted rofl. (Who said hoarder?). And I didn't have the funds for anything good so I got meeden and it is the strangest thing (for someone who hasn't touched gouache in 30 years) it's almost like an acrylic lite, a rewetting acrylic feeling so i'm perplexed by it. I was not impressed if that's what modern gouache is like. Got to say the goowash thing bugs me but that's easy done so i ignore myself lol. At first, when I was hearing the american pronunciation I was screaming at the screen that it was wrong (who said I was balanced lol). But I was interested in what you remembered from college, so I'm surprised you remember goowash. I think with the internet language is going to go through a huge shift and balancing out as the youngsters are more exposed to online speech and less local speech. Accents seem to b dying out, sadly, I love British dialects.
Aww, thank you so much, Sheri! 🥰 That little duckling does have impeccable taste in art supplies, doesn't it? 🦆🎨 I'm so happy you enjoyed the video and thrilled to have you along for the ride-welcome to the arty corner of TH-cam! 🖌️💖 Your support means the world to me. 😊✨
Hi there, @inkyfingers1045! Thanks so much for asking-I’ve taught in-person workshops before, which I absolutely loved! 😊 For 2025, if there’s enough interest of course I’m possibly considering expanding into Patreon,. 🎨✨ I’d love to hear what kind of classes you’d enjoy-techniques, mediums, project-based? Would you like weekly lives, draw a longs, behind the scenes. Your feedback would mean a lot as I plan for the future. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment-it truly means so much! ❤️ Here’s to exciting possibilities ahead! 🖌️😊
@sarahclementsart I would love for you to do a Patreon. I want to learn everything. Every medium. Oil would be last but would love to learn everything .

Thanks so much for watching and commenting-it really means a lot!
I think you’ll *love* the Graphitint pencils-they’re such a unique blend of subtle colour and graphite depth. Adding them to your wish list is a fantastic idea-here’s hoping they make their way to you soon! 😉 Thank you so much for watching and sharing your journey-it means so much to me! ❤️

ALL soft pastels can be "activated" with water.
You’re absolutely right, @veystone2580! 💧🎨 All soft pastels can be activated with water, and it’s such a fun way to play with them and create soft, dreamy effects! 😍🌈 Thanks for for watching and commenting it so appreciated. 😊💖
Winsor and Newton
As for the paint pens, no way, I haven’t tried them. I didnt know!! 🤔 ooooh. 😂
Thanks again for watching and sharing your thoughts-I wish you the best Julianne for 2025 & I’m excited find out what you create with your supplies!

As for the pronunciation, that’s such an interesting observation!
Now I'm questioning myself...😂
Wishing you tons of creative inspiration with your gouache!
Instant like for the little duckling's giggle of excitement for your paints! 🥰 Followed by a sub so I can see more of your artwork and videos.😊
Do you teach classes
Hi there, @inkyfingers1045! Thanks so much for asking-I’ve taught in-person workshops before, which I absolutely loved! 😊 For 2025, if there’s enough interest of course I’m possibly considering expanding into Patreon,. 🎨✨
I’d love to hear what kind of classes you’d enjoy-techniques, mediums, project-based? Would you like weekly lives, draw a longs, behind the scenes. Your feedback would mean a lot as I plan for the future. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment-it truly means so much! ❤️ Here’s to exciting possibilities ahead! 🖌️😊
@sarahclementsart I would love for you to do a Patreon. I want to learn everything. Every medium. Oil would be last but would love to learn everything .
Acrylic is not gouache. It’s matte acrylic.
