For decades, Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act has allowed businesses to pay disabled workers LESS than the regulated minimum wage. Hannah and I are strongly against this practice, and we asked SourceAmerica about their stance on the issue today. They shared that their company and board of directors “supports the elimination of Section 14(c).” To that end, they have created a comprehensive transition program designed to support businesses who are shifting away from the use of 14(c). There is still much progress to be made, and we commend SourceAmerica for implementing changes to encourage fair pay for everyone.
Wow, really, I can't believe this stuff hey!!! If anything I think that disabled people should be treated absolutely equally at work, in the business environment! I don't get it though, what were they thinking when they were making and passing this law!?!! Disabled people should be treated absolutely equal to a normal-abled person! That's almost like saying super fat people should be paid less or a person with one less finger on his right hand gets paid less.. That's ridiculous really! Anyway, keep well and be safe guys!!! PS: do you guys have a drone, a Mavic Mini!? I know it may be a bit difficult for Shane to fly it, but you guys live in the US, so get a Skydio 2 or something more autonomous. Else the Mini would be so awesome to fly! Maybe Shane can also figure out a way to control it sweetly.. 😁
I had absolutely no idea about this! This is horrific. I am glad I didn’t know about this when my son (Autistic) was looking for a job (with the help of Vocational Rehabilitation). He not only has a great job, but he has consistently received bonuses and raises.
@squirmy and Grubs I remember hearing this on Six Blind Kids, that about 70% of the disabled are not able to get jobs because ppl do not trust to depend on them. This definitely needs to change. One of my best friend, her youngest sister is blind (has little light perception) and became a lawyer who now works in a University. Her husband who is also blind (no light perception) is a music therapist and works with elderly with alzheimer's. He plays the piano and guitar. Both are singers too and have performed on stage. They also have a daughter who is now 3 yrs old and is able to see. Plus she is pregnant again and due in Jan or Feb 2021 (can't remember). And it is going to be another girl. So someone believed in them! 💞💞💞

I take care of my mother, who lives with me after having to need a leg amputation around 2 years ago. I’m also a single-momma to two littles. I am everybody’s person. When I happen to “fall ill” 😂 I have nobody. Having chronic health challenges myself, it tends to be overwhelming at times. It’s wonderful that you guys have such amazing family there as support when needed. Watching you guys for some time now, you really can see & feel the love and support around you two. 💛
I'm the same Sarah, caring for my Wife. She is in a hospital bed in our house and i do all her personal care as well. I have no family to help and know just how you feel, and empathise with you, as i have health issues too. Ultimately, the care sector would have to be contacted and care provided, at a cost to us in the UK. Hope you stay well and heads up to you for doing what you do.
I had EXACTLY the same situation. The caregiver for everyone. Then I got gravely ill with my two kids to care for and no support at all. Makes the healing process much longer and it's so hard. I know how you feel.🌻

Don’t you feel that what you present leaves humanity a little bit better off? I appreciate you both 🙏💕
💖💖💖 loved your section about Source American... both learning about it.. but also as a person with disability and who have had people completely ignoring me and direct comments and question about me/in front of me to my caregiver, instead of me. 💖💖
It is awesome that Liz is close enough to help out when Hannah is ill. I was concerned about that problem when Hannah is in the late stages of pregnancy and possibly unable to do everything Shane needs.
Yes then of course after the late stages of pregnancy comes the baby 🤞 hopefully a natural birth , C-section would mean Hannah & Shane would both need caregivers 😮 and Hannah will be up all hrs with baby and the rest of the hours taking care of shane's needs , I'm already exhausted for Hannah 😞
Hannah look so beautiful!!! Yellow really complements her alot and with that lipstick shade?!! OH MY GOD!!! YES QUEEN I absolutely love that colour on her so so so much❤
Hi. Please consider removing the Ad (assumedly you have a choice ?!) for the movie The Expecting. It nearly put me off your channel, because it came on so unexpectedly...no trigger warning and it's sick. I understand you like horrors & thrillers, but this channel of yours is a nice, kind, fun, loving, educating channel. There's enough sicko copy cats in the world and so important to consider what we influence. Really don't want to see such evil associated to your own baby! Trust you'll hear something wise in what I'm saying. You know how to make good choices!!
I saw your article on msn and I wanted to say that you both make a wonderful couple. Congratulations on your wedding and may you be blessed with children, good health, love, and prosperity.
I started watching your channel to learn more about interabled relationships I keep watching for Hannah’s face when Shane is cracking jokes and also for the ‘nope’
I took care of my sweet baby brother with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy and it was the best job and always will be the best job I ever had. Hannah you love him so hard and I am so glad he found someone as sweet as you!
Aww this youtube channel is soo sweet. I found it by accident when reading through the comments of another video, and i hope you to live a long and happy life together.
I found your channel about 2 months ago and myself and my kids(daughter 11 and Luke 8) been binge watching all the old videos ☺️😃! We love watching you two! You two are hilarious, even Shane when he tells his corny dad jokes lol 😂!
Eric Bogar if you don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing you please. If you don’t like Hannah don’t watch or do you watch just to be nasty. Many people have said what you think but most don’t believe it. The people here enjoying watching and interacting with Shane and Hannah so just fu... off.
@@JenReid12 you need to stop telling people how to react!!! Just because you believe their crap they spoon feed all you believers daily does not mean others feel the same!! This crap is FAKE except for his disability! She is out for the money!!!
I used to work for a private agency helping people with disabilities get and be successful in a job of their choice...I helped write resumes, with interview skills, job coaching and more...I worked up to be branch manager...It was a challenging and rewarding job. Ironically, I became injured on the job and since I couldn't do the full job, full time, I lost my job. Now disabled (and on SSDI) I'm my disabled husband's caregiver. Glad to hear that there is a continued effort to help those with disabilities get jobs still. Blessings!
Hi Max GamingwithMJ. Thanks for asking about my brother. J.F. was born in 1949 at a small hospital in New Mexico and the delivering physician had never seen a baby with spina bifida. He had to consult with physicians in Denver. He also had slight hydrocephalus. Luckily, he got a good start and Carrie Tingley Hospital for Crippled Children was not too far away in Truth or Consequences, NM. He always had a sunny attitude and had 35 operations as a child. His spine was fused and he was able to use braces and crutches for a few years, but spent most of his life in a wheelchair. He came home and was homeschooled for a while and got to attend grade school with the rest of us (6 children in all) for a few years. He was three years older than me and lived at home, in a nursing home, in a private care home and at Carrie Tingley during his life. His health was up and down and it was his kidneys that got him in the end. He was on the first dialysis machine in Albuquerque, NM during the year of his death, 1976. We had a lot of fun together. He loved to go to the little league baseball games and I pushed him there. He became the announcer at the games and won a "No. 1 fan" trophy one year. He studied radio broadcasting, but both of the radio stations in town were not accessible for his wheelchair. He entered and won the local wheelchair olympics. He worked for a car salesman in Silver City. The other salesmen went for coffee breaks to Shadel's Bakery on Main street, but the sidewalks were not accessible due to several stairs, and J.F. wanted to go on coffee breaks with the guys so he challenged the mayor of the town to spend a day in a wheelchair and see how he liked it. The mayor lasted half a day and this led to making downtown wheelchair accessible in the 1970s-- 20 years before the Americans with Disabilities act. I could go on and on...one more story of my relationship with him. During the summer when I was home from my first year in college, J.F. took a college class. I drove him to class, lifted him in and out of the car into his wheelchair. One morning during the transfer we got the giggles and I accidentally dropped him on the ground. He was mad and I was still laughing when one of his classmates came along and chewed me out as he helped get J.F. settled into his chair. Every day after that, the classmate who was a football player, met me in the parking lot and helped him out. There were several college athletes in the class and J.F. made many friends. I was happy to learn that when the fall semester started up and I returned to my college in Minnesota, those friends made sure J.F got to football and basketball games. I miss him every day.
I love the two of you Hannah and Shane. Really so very much. But I am truly worried about Hannah when you two have a baby. I think it’s important to think about either getting an outside caregiver, or getting a nanny for the baby.... Any baby is just going to be an overwhelming responsibility and well.. you for sure will need hands on help. Although I know with a Nanny and Caregiver you will for sure be able to manage it with them. It is really a life changing and difficult but incredibly rewarding experience and I hope you both can experience it. Love you Hannah and Shane❤️
Yall are so lucky to have the wonderful Liz around. Did she know how much she would be involved In helping with Shane with traveling or what ever else happens when she is needed. Did yall think in the beginning of dateing she would be so involved in caring for Shane? What a blessing she is to yall. Could she do a video sometime on her thoughts on this topic??? Preying for good health for you both and many blessings. Love yall
Is Shane’s family as involved? Was this ever mentioned. Like do they far away or are they present ? Sorry if this is to personal no need to answer obviously,
As a new subscriber here I just have to say that you both are by far my favourite people on the internet and I love you two amazing human beings. God bless. Xx
You two are amazing I live in the U.K. to see disability not stopping a beautiful relationship with so much LOVE I am now disabled due to ill health and mobility issues BUT. I was a nurse before a mum to 3 children and married to the love of my life for 37 years before I lost him to cancer 4 years ago, I now live with my grandson and daughter xx please keep in touch your story gives me so much great feelings of never giving up xxx
My daughter Cydne and I watch y’all together. My sassy daughter is 20, has Cerebral Palsy and works at a facility that employs those with different abilities so we stand with you and companies like Source America. We will def check them out! Also, I was interested in Hannah’s shirt???
Another option to think about is to get one of your local home care companies set up so if and when Hanna ever gets unable to do the care. They can send one of their nurses or medical techs to come and care for you for the day. And maybe since its a rare occasion thing your insurance may take care of it. Most insurance do allow a few visits a year to be covered if it's Dr. Ordered. 😊
In Ontario we have PSW’S (Personal Support Workers) that come into your home and give personal care to individuals with disabilities All covered by our provincial health care. Surely Shan would be approved by an insurance company to have so many hours a week for a PSW. Plus it also helps Hannah with respite care by giving her a break.
They can hire someone EASY! How embarrassing letting my wife mom wipe the poop of my ass? Even if they have supportive family of course they won’t say “no” can’t take care of you, but being cheap and taking advantage of that instead of hiring someone, isn’t nice and IS overwhelming if not now in the future. I am disabled myself, so I really understand the struggle!
Kathi Foy so he can easily pay a caregiver instead of making his whole family care for him like a baby. I love these two but common now! He’s a grown man, he can’t walk ok, but than figure things out yourself without depending on other people.
Sorry for the long reply, but it appears I've opened a can of worms with my previous reply to our Canadian friend @tiberisland. Hannah and Shane speak about hiring caregivers in their video about why they got married, I recommend watching it. Many in the disability community cannot get married because combined income would move them out of the Supplemental Security Income bracket. It is a horrible place to be. Shane and Hannah make enough money to live comfortably, but the price of a hired caregiver is out of their range at this point. Someday, they say, they may need to hire in caregiving help. Family members are the default caregivers for most people who need help. I grew up with a brother with paraplegia and we all helped out. He spent some years of his youth in a hospital for crippled children (what they called it in those days) and near the end of his too short life, he was cared for in a nursing home. Our healthcare system/student loan system/elder care system in the USA is set up to "handicap" folks with a working class or middle class income. For instance, I am currently the caregiver for my husband with Alzheimer's disease. When it is time for him to go into Memory Care, I will downsize to living in my van because his care will take his Social Security check and mine isn't enough to cover living in our apt. I knew this as he was diagnosed because I'm retired from a healthcare profession and we sold our house, all of our possessions and declared bankruptcy so that we could be cared for under Medicare and Medicaid. Otherwise, we couldn't afford care for him as his disease progresses. Most family members who care for loved ones are honored to do so, although respite care is important. That is why I'm glad Hannah and Shane have a plan for his care should Hannah be unavailable. Meanwhile, they live active adventurous lives and we can all learn from their openness and vulnerability.
You guys are so cute together and your love for each other is abundantly clear. I enjoy the humerus way that you interact with each other and your audience. You both are blessed to have found each other and I pray that you will have a long life together filled with love, health and happiness.
Hi again S&H Hopefully you'll stay healthy Hannah but everyone should always have back up plans for all the really big things. Shane you would be terrific in any situation of your choice as well as so many others with challenges/disabilities. Sounds like a great organization and your message about it was excellent. Thx for all you share including your so fun sense of humor! You two are a hoot!!
Nice to hear you mention Liz. I miss seeing her in your videos. This pandemic has messed up so much!! I look forward too the days when you are back on the road and traveling, And of course, BABY NEWS!!
@@carolinerowles5951 Funny thing is they sent me to a gynocologist. She then called my CO yelled at hi, told me she doesn't want to think of what I look like up in those stirrups, then grabbed a cigarrette & left the bldg.
Soooooo you have Shane's care plan taken care of. Now, what about Hannah's? Who will be there to care for Hannah? I sense a long list of volunteers signing up. All they will have to do is pass one of Shane's caretaker tests.
LMAO, this is the first time in my life that I see a video saying "No views" instead of a count. ...and then Shane says: "If this video hits 2 million views..." XD .... oh, and FIRST!
@Z thats true! And she is only looking out for herself! Selfish gold digger! It should be called the Hannah show! All she does is roll her eyes and sneer! She interrupts him constantly!
I'll take over for Hannah when she " falls ill". You'll have to tolerate me smoking in your house ( only about 20 times a day and the occasional cigar) and having family members drop by unannounced at any hour. That's reasonable? Hope to see you soon Shane! Good .luck with your health Hannah!
Sumatriptan is a miracle for most migraine sufferers. It basically dilates the blood vessels in the brain so that the blood flows through. It works. I suffered my first migraine at 27. Fortunately I no longer have migraines as it was to do with my blood pressure but I always have a tablet handy just in case but never had to use, in the last few years.
The support you guys have from your family's is wonderful. You're both very lucky to have each other and your loving families. And who knows Shane, maybe when there's baby news your family will eventually move closer! 😉
It shouldn't at a reputable restaurant. Honestly if you've come to accept food poisoning as an "it happens" scenario you should probably reevaluate where you choose to dine. There will be times where our bodies disagree with what we eat but it's a far fly from food poisoning.
@@MaJieMao Not sure where you're getting your numbers from but it's a tad bit over 3mil in the US most of which happen at home or from places like gas stations which are considered "fast food" (don't ever eat gas station food.)
You're both special people and I'm pretty sure you both have special parents. Don't ever take that for granted. Wish I could say what a great role model I had.
Hannah, you must already know this, but the medication called Imitrex can, for a lot of us, knocked down a migraine within 30 minutes or so. It completely solved my problem years ago until the migraines finally gave up trying to bother me.
I'm so happy you guys have great support behind you. I'm a full time carer for my mum. Although I have 3 siblings, if I'm sick... no one comes to help 🙄 so I always make sure I have a stock pile of home made meals in the freezer that I can throw in the microwave and serve her. Then I curl up on the sofa, while she sits in her armchair ♥️ its hard, I won't lie. But I wouldn't have it any other way ♥️♥️♥️
Your hilarious antics always crack me up, but Shane's fake sick plans seriously had me rolling (like, actual tears were shed 😂). Thank you guys for always putting a smile on my face ♥️
This comment is not making fun or is a joke. I saw in another TH-cam video, the majority of toilets there are high tech compared to here in Canada and the U.S. The toilet has different adjustments on it and you can actually not have to use toilet paper. If you go poo, it has a button to clean your bum and then it will blow dry it (in some ways) so that you do not have to use toilet paper to wipe. I can only imagine how much they would cost. It was an rental apartment in Japan that I saw this. So Shane this would be amazing for you where you do not have to rely on someone (even though I know Hannah does not mind). It gives you another kind of independence. ❤❤❤
@Starlett Oscar They are called bidet's in the US. The cheapest one is less than $20. That one only does the water. The next one does warm water. There is another that does warm water and warms the seat. And the grand one of all is, warms the water, warms the seat but also blasts your under parts with warm air to dry your body! Of course each one is more expensive as you have more abilities added.
@@Kaycyd I thought bidet were next to the toilet and the bidet to me looks like a urinal but not on the wall. The one I saw on TH-cam and they live in Japan (he used to live in the State but his wife is from Japan). It looked like a regular toilet but with the fancy gadgets. I know some ppl made the comment that he still needs help on and off the toilet. I was actually aware of that, it still is a bit of independence when you do not need anyone to wipe or dry your bum after. :) . Very interesting what you told me about the toilet. :)
@Z Yes I know, I was a little confused on what you said on the last part. Yes I did remember Shane cannot wipe himself and needs help on and off the toilet. This toilet actually after you go poo, it sprays water and cleans your bum for you and then after dries your bum. So that once he is done, he just needs help with his pants and getting off the toilet. It gives a bit of independence not having to have someone wipe you after you are done. I know Hannah is okay with it. It is just a nice idea, I thought still and if another person helps instead if Hannah is sick.:)
@@demijour1234 the ones I'm talking about attach to the underside of the toilet seat (except for the one that has the heated seat) . The inexpensive one has the control to the side. It won't let me add a photo or link but you can just go to amazon . com and put in 'bidet' and you'll see a variety of them. I have had one for 7 years (under $20)and love it! Hope this helps.
If you Shane can choose a woman randomly to fill in for Hannah if she is I'll then Hannah should be able to choose a random guy's name to fill in for you if you get I'll. Fair is fair Shane. Loves to both of yous from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Your right. That's why Shane us talking. Avoiding adoption be better idea
You two crack me up. You are so lucky to have found each other. And I am so lucky to have found you both. Enjoy your channel so much.
Hannah look so beautiful!!! Yellow really complements her alot and with that lipstick shade?!! OH MY GOD!!! YES QUEEN I absolutely love that colour on her so so so much❤
Your humor really makes my worst days a lot brighter. Thank you for being such a joy!
I ever-so-enjoy Hannah's reactions (the facial expressions are perfect) to Shane's goofiness.
You guys are so open and transparent I feel like I know you both personally. I feel like you guys are my friends. ❤️
I absolutely love both of your sense of humor, and positive attitude 🥰🥰❤❤❤
I saw your article on msn and I wanted to say that you both make a wonderful couple. Congratulations on your wedding and may you be blessed with children, good health, love, and prosperity.
that raffle caregiver idea seems like jury duty and it has me laughing so hard
I started watching your channel to learn more about interabled relationships I keep watching for Hannah’s face when Shane is cracking jokes and also for the ‘nope’
Where did Hannah get her vote shirt?! I love it!
Also came here to ask this
Also need to know!!!
I was gonna ask that too!! I love it!!!!
I found it online! It’s from the never give up organization. Sadly it is sold out😔

I took care of my sweet baby brother with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy and it was the best job and always will be the best job I ever had. Hannah you love him so hard and I am so glad he found someone as sweet as you!
I LOVE the backup plan....can I please be a stand-in Hannah for a year?!🤣🤣🤣
You both are incredible peeps. Much love! Your videos are comforting and really wholesome for my chicken noodle soul

Blessings!
Do you know how to do resumes? Do you ever do any freelancing in this are? I would love someone to help me with that sort of thing.
I was lucky to be able to help care for my paraplegic brother while he was with us. I miss him every day.
Kathi Foy hello
:( what happen to your brother? I’m just curious
Love yall
You gave spoilers😩
Is Shane’s family as involved? Was this ever mentioned. Like do they far away or are they present ? Sorry if this is to personal no need to answer obviously,
@@sariyasayyar9585 I'm pretty sure Shanes family is in Pennsylvania...but don't quote me on that, my memory isn't too good...lol
As a new subscriber here I just have to say that you both are by far my favourite people on the internet and I love you two amazing human beings. God bless. Xx
Shane really needs his own comedy special.
Hannah's vote shirt is awesome!
I just came across your channel about a week ago. You two are hilarious!! Thank you for the laughs!
I know you all are married, but it seems like Hannah is getting a little too comfortable using what is clearly Shane's armrest.
Hahahahhahahaha "Stay in your lane!"
Lol
BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN
haaahahaha she uses it for like 10 seconds
She already made his chair her purse
Ordered. 😊
I love both the serious topics and Shane's sense of humor. Makes me smile!
In Ontario we have PSW’S (Personal Support Workers) that come into your home and give personal care to individuals with disabilities
All covered by our provincial health care. Surely Shan would be approved by an insurance company to have so many hours a week for a PSW. Plus it also helps Hannah with respite care by giving her a break.
Their income is too high for such services here in USA
@@kathifoynm that’s unfortunate, the PSW service in Ontario is regardless of one’s income level.
When Hannah falls "ill"..There will be a randomly drawn volunteer with the name "Hannah". You will be paid the prevailing wage for a Nanny.
Hi again S&H
Hopefully you'll stay healthy Hannah but everyone should always have back up plans for all the really big things. Shane you would be terrific in any situation of your choice as well as so many others with challenges/disabilities. Sounds like a great organization and your message about it was excellent.
Thx for all you share including your so fun sense of humor! You two are a hoot!!
Well my name is already Hannah so I don’t mind being called that when I become your temporary caregiver while Hannah’s sick😂
Nice to hear you mention Liz. I miss seeing her in your videos. This pandemic has messed up so much!! I look forward too the days when you are back on the road and traveling, And of course, BABY NEWS!!
I love Hannah’s face when Shane is a smart ass or goes off script because she’s got a look of “I wanna smack you” and “I love you” at the same time
I always feel it’s more like ‘If he DARE shares THAT STORY I’m stomping camera and pushing him into a pool.’
You guys are my fav couple. This is true love since the first video and it's just goals!!
Shane's looking really good lately. His face looks fuller.....maybe they've got their wish and he's pregnant! 💖😜
He is glowing! 🤔🤔🤔🧐🧐
Funny story, the Navy wouldn't deploy me in 2005, because my medical records were screwed up. From 1994-2006 I was pregnant. I did go to Iraq 2008-09.

Hey guys love your videos
So now we know why Hannah is So AMAZING , she comes from a wonderful caring family ! Bless you Liz ! 💕🥰💕
Soooooo you have Shane's care plan taken care of. Now, what about Hannah's? Who will be there to care for Hannah? I sense a long list of volunteers signing up. All they will have to do is pass one of Shane's caretaker tests.
Shane's Caretaker Questionnaire, question #1: Have you ever seriously bit a sibling? Both Shane and Hannah sigh and look down.
Hannah, I love the way you have started putting part of your hair back. It looks great !!! I love that style for myself as well.
I love you! You make me laugh everytime. :)
Kisses from Croatia.
Shane and Hannah, you two are fun to tune in to see.
LMAO, this is the first time in my life that I see a video saying "No views" instead of a count. ...and then Shane says: "If this video hits 2 million views..." XD .... oh, and FIRST!
I'll glad that you have a plan! Of course you have a plan! You two are very put together! ❤️❤️❤️🌻🌻🌻❤️❤️❤️
I was just thinking of this question the other day!
what a blessing to have family close by and willing to help in times of need..This made me miss my mom lol
I thought the title was going to be.... "If Hannah is sick, could she be pregnant "..... my hopes were dashed LOL
Don’t be a dick
Pregnant? How? This is fake and if she gets pregnant who would be daddy??? Her t shirt should say gold digger or fake wife. She is a PAID caregiver.
@Z thats true! And she is only looking out for herself! Selfish gold digger! It should be called the Hannah show! All she does is roll her eyes and sneer! She interrupts him constantly!
@Z I want to see the marriage license.
Love you guys! Hannah you look incredible,so do you shane! Great to see your smiles x
”My mom got you into bed, next to me. Poor me”
Shane: *quiet* (poor me) 😂😂😂😂
It’s a good question ! It’s great that you are so open !
They are so sweet what a Angel Hannah is and Shane love his personality .
My wife calls it a miracle drug.
Elaine Bines I agree with you that taking Sumatriptan is one of the best I have ever been on.

The support you guys have from your family's is wonderful. You're both very lucky to have each other and your loving families. And who knows Shane, maybe when there's baby news your family will eventually move closer! 😉
It was food posioning Hannah, its happens even in some of cleanest restaurants.
It shouldn't at a reputable restaurant. Honestly if you've come to accept food poisoning as an "it happens" scenario you should probably reevaluate where you choose to dine. There will be times where our bodies disagree with what we eat but it's a far fly from food poisoning.
@@DigitalRX2r 48 million cases of foodborne illness annually pal...1 in 6 people every year....it happens all the time even at the best places.
But I wouldn't have it any other way ♥️♥️♥️
Hannah you look cute in yellow! And also yes vote people!!! 💛
He would still need somebody to transfer him to and from the toilet and help with his pants.
I love how you take all your jokes to the furthest point possible lol😂 You are incredibly self-aware
My favorite parts of these videos is how Hannah reacts to Shane’s “ideas”
