Should I Wax my Bathroom Floors

This question gets ask. Should I wax my bathroom floors. Wax is designed to help your floors to become safer. Bathrooms stay wet a lot. Which can actually damage your wax. If your dealing with ceramic tile which is not designed for waxing. Definitely would look for a better alternative. I have been a custodian for over 20 years. The purpose of this channel is to share some of my knowledge with you. I remember the feeling when I first became a custodian. I was given a set of keys, a radio and a badge. Didn't get any training whatsoever. Being a custodian is not rocket scientist knowledge. There are definitely things that a custodian needs to know. I call it the art of the trade. Good information. Never have wanted to wax the ceramic floors in the bathrooms now I will never let it happen. If somebody comes up with that ideal. Just Sweep and mop and disinfect that’s it.

Just curious if you ever thought about having discussions about why schools cannot keep custodians. Overworked and underpaid. Where I’m at right now they can’t even hire anybody. No applicants. Basically, no career path. No, steppingstone to move up the ladder. It may be different in different areas but in this District no incentives to keep you motivated. You can actually go to a fast food place and make a lot more money.
If we do hire a young, motivated person, he is only there briefly till he finds a better job.
Sorry, but I may be bringing up a to negative discussion.
But it’s the real world we live in now.

mr. jeff, have you ever had a woman custodian coworker before? i am a young woman who is considering being a custodian, but im nervous about entering this field that is predominantly run by men. I just hope they see me as a professional employee.

We have woman custodians at our community colleges, they're good worker's they can use the stripper polishing machines too. They're just as good worker's as the men, ofcourse moving tables and set up might be a little challenge but if the school you at doesn't have to much labor then more power to you, its a great gig go for it.

Yes I have worked around lots of woman custodians. We actually have two where I work now. In the school system where I came from we had many. I wouldn’t be nervous. My advice would know what your boundaries are for you and set those boundaries. Men are men. Some good some bad and some
Ugly. How a person treats you as a woman should be nothing less than respect regardless of what your doing. A real man will treat a woman with respect. Just my opinion as a man.
