I bought this last night for my ps4. My monthly "let's give this interesting looking indie game a chance" to support the developers. My verdict.... .. Well, I think the fact I had today off work and played it for 8 hours straight is high praise enough.
This seems to be pretty neat in its gameplay and I like those visuals as well. It's good to hear that the soundtrack goes well with it all as well. Because I do enjoy roguelites, I think I need to keep an eye on this and hope it possibly gets a Switch release down the line. As always, I appreciate the review.
@@DillonBrannick I really appreciate the info there. Thank you. I actually did pick myself up a Steam Deck a couple weeks back and got it there. It was just my luck it released on Switch right after. But it's great to see people who exclusively play on Switch will get to experience it now too. Thank you again.
I cant tell you how much i love this game. Super satisfying and addicting. Super cool retro style fun ass game. Tons of action and i can do it all day.
I literally did play it all day today 🤣 bought it for my ps4 last night, played it from 10pm to 1am, then got up at 8am, went back on it for 8 uninterrupted hours until 4pm. Addictive alright.
*WARNING for all gamers wanting this game! It WAS my FAV shooter (I dont play many 2D or 3D shooters, especially those with NO story) but, this game is soooooo SHORT! The entire point, since its a rogue lite/like (or whatever its called!) is u unlock more weapons (after u die) with currency u collect in a run (But, weapon spawns are "random", so u may never get that gun in a run!) & can also choose "skills" to upgrade/unlock, BUT, if your decent at video games you will unlock Everything VERY quickly, example, I had ALL weapons & ALL skills that I wanted unlocked in 3 hours! Then there seemed NO reason to even play anymore :( So be WARNED! Game is sadly VERY Short!*
Were you playing the early access version? Alot of updates have been done since! I def didn't get the impression that I was close to unlocking everything after 5 hours of gameplay. But, maybe you are really good at games that's a possibility!
I saw this game at 50% on GoG and I'm happy that you made a review about it! I think I will pick it up tonight, although I'm a bit tired of all the rogue-lites, too. Thank you much for the review! :) One last question: Are the controls in the game rebindable? Or are they hardcoded WASD?
Meh, another roguelike. This looks cool and I'd love if it wouldn't be a roguelike. Don't know what the obsession is with everything having to be a roguelike in recent times. Anyway, I'll grab it when there's a good deal, looks like some great mindless fun for a few hours before it gets awfully repetitive. Good game on the side perhaps after a long day.
@Be Headed getting "good" runs and "bad" runs because of rng. being addicted to the thought of getting a good run and the high of experincing one. That's the same as gambling.
@Be Headed never played that. i was more reffering to ETG and maybe RoR2. i do like the whole systematic games (immersive sims) merged in them. for that you have mooncrash, void bastards, streets of rouge. neon abyss is def unfair imo. it's just some video was talking about battle royales being gambling (thought of that before watching it). and i think he wasn't aware of or there weren't so many rougelikes at the time. people keep saying "i got my moneys worth from the hours i spent." it's just a copy pasted "genre" used to exploit the addictive nature of it. sometimes people will "reroll" because of a bad start. (sorry for the run on rant. just didn't want to shorten it)
Literally all the criticisms you had were just staples of roguelike games. They werent legitimate complaints you just complained about the parts of roguelike games you dont like. Sounds like the game isnt made for you, that doesn't mean that it had problems just that you don't like parts of the game yo
How did I miss this till now. Thanks for the review!

This game is on sale cheap on PSN right now, and it had a platinum.

Instantly aged me w/ the mention of Pandemonium. Constantly rented while working at Blockbuster. ☠️
Haha nice

Cool!
Just ordered the physical!

Well I've played it for 11 hours over the course of yesterday and today and I'm not even close to unlocking everything, so much to do and collect.
@@paulharper4196 I looked at How Long to Beat website and there are two playthroughs one with 4hrs and the other for 67hrs.

Going off memory I believe they could be adjusted. Sorry it has been awhile and we have played much since!
this reminds me of an Atari game from the 80s I used to play.
Nice!
It's just like resogun

@Be Headed nah. we need to move away from those. you can have replayability without gambling

I think your review was completely fair. Some guys just want to complain.
