8:11 i totaly disagree with the specialist and elite part, +20% damage on a weapon that hit hard already can mean one less hit necesary on a pesky elite(rager) and that without counting on crit or pasive damage boost in the weapon and urself. it can cascade rather quickly, same if u got a critical hit build(i'm looking at you zealot) +5% chance seem like nothing but it is a percentage without any condition on it, no need to activate an ability or needing to hit an enemy weakspot, wich is a rare kind of bonus. and +10% crit damage on a crit based build is just an enormous bonus, remember there is very very few bonus adding crit damage, and it is calculated after every other bonus, so ur 50 damage weapon, hitting at 200 damage on a crit damage +10% add up a lot. i have multiple crit base build on multiple character and i assure u it can be quite strong on the rigth weapon; for exemple i have a zealot crit with a heavy blade, and even if that melee weapon dosnt count on crit hit or rather dont have any inate bonus on it, counting on the fact it does lot of damage on multiple target while losing few damage on the process make it a great sweeper, crit through a wave with mauler in it and, thks to the rigth blessing, going through the mauler full damage and without carring of his mass is as great of a sweap as the trauma force staff can be. remember the important part is what is ur play style and how u want to maximize ur damage. edit: on crit damage, to manify a weapon that have that strength in a build that dosnt it can add up rather quickly too; i have a psyker build based on the surge staff(the zappy one) which is strength it to pick a couple of target and hit hard on the first two(specialy the first tho) and from what ive seen it cant weakspot hit, so it has a higher crit chance and crit damage to begin with can more than double its damage with just +10% crit damage. it seem like nothing but the weapon i have on heresy two shot a crusher and bulwark together on crit hit, i let u imagine what it does to a rager wave. even if u just kill 3 rager on ten urself the other 7 are left low life leting anybody in ur team able to finish them without taking to much hit. imagine that on hi-itensity huntground at his worst. edit2: 9:09 ur trolling rigth? like i said above damage on the elite is far more broad than the specific one and far more desirable; ogryns are elite btw. its the same damage but much more restrictive so unless u want to make more damage on a specific ennemy the elite/specialist are better becuz broader. let imagine u got a kantreal or an accatran, you want to be able to kill both elites/specialist and grunts fast, grunst are kill fast already, and deppending on the MK u took it would be good or not to deal with waves. now u need to maximize the damage on the biggest badest ennemies those who can end you quickly, elites for exemple. you have issue against ragers mauler and crusher so what do u take? flak and maniac rigth? since both weapon arent great against carapace armor anyway; well now ur killing the bulwark and reaper less efficiently and find urself using ur melee instead but that weapon isnt efficient against those at all. if u take the damage over the elites, not only u have one more perk but u make more damage to every ennemy that dont anounce themselfs when they arrive(specialist, ex:mutant, bomber, trapper) making ur weapon more broad while having the same amount of bonus damage, and even if it didnt having ur damage more broad is far better most of the time so u dont find urself stuck in a wave with multiple elites in it and a specialist coming ur way and unable to get out of a crusher or rager . and for melee its even worst cuz deppending on the attack in ur combo the damage can be drasticly different, a weapon can make no damage over carapce on all its combo but one for exemple, so having damage on elites make u able to power boost every damage in all ur combo against those ennemies.
I just started playing auric level and, you are right the damage is extremely more consistent, your comment helped me a lot. Still this video is great but to anyone out there who is seeying the comments, what AokiZeto said is true
I'll have to play around more with these perks then honestly! I've also been reading the steam guide for Ogryn's The Ogrynomicon and it's been pretty favorable to these buffs as well in it. Anyway, I'll be pinning this for now as a sort of addendum, since I don't want people wholesale rejecting something that can be pretty good in practice
800 hours have taught me this about getting weapons in Darktide. While leveling visit the normal store every 2 missions and buy a better weapon as you will be leveling past existing weapons very quickly. Use this as experiment time to find what weapons you like and what you don't. NEVER upgrade low level weapons save all you plasteel for level cap or if you get super lucky at high level and land a god roll (not happening but just incase) When you hit level cap go to Brunts and buy lots of the wepaon(s) you like. Upgrade the 300 or so ratings to farm blessings: These are cheaper to upgrade (plasteel) than max roll weapons so your plasteel will be better utilised. T3 and T4 blessings are way more common going to gold than blue but if you get a T4 when upgrading to blue stop and break it down as you can only take 1 blessing off of a weapon. Sell any items that have low stats and low level blessings you never need T1 or T2 blessings so don't even bother learning them just sell them as they are now worth most of what you paid for it and you can recycle it back in to a chance of a high stat drop. Once you have the blessings you want (or a bunch to try out) sort through the higher stat weapns you bulk purchased and put your farmed blessings on them, or buy more till you get something good. keep rolling until you get a 370+ with good stat distribution some weapons can get away with less but your ultimately for end game going to want a weapon in this stat range so don't bother with 350-365 weapons you will end up replacing it anyway so don't waste your time. Perks are mid and offer small boosts, the difference in say Ranged damage between T3 and T4 is 2% which sure is 2% ranged damage but its not going to make a niticeable difference. I tend to look at these as purely a bonus/nice to haves and not worth finding another ~380 base stat to roll from. Spend your two item rerolls on blessings as they are the impactfull changes and being able to change two of them means when they patch the game a shake up the meta you can change the blessings instead of look for a new item. If one of them is perfect T4 then reroll the worse perk if its bad. DO NOT get fixated on making a perfect stat weapon of 550 (380 base, 2x T4 perks, 2x T4 blessings) its not worth the effort, I have just got my first "perfect" item a Boltgun at 550 and I'm not using it because I have a weapon with much better stat distribution with only a T3 perk in one of the slots and a base roll of 375 so its 'only' a 540 but does more damage with better stability and collateral and the lost points are in mobility but still enough to give max dodges. It may be 10 points 'worse' but is actually the superior weapon. Sour milks shop is ok for buying T4 blessings but as its a weekly refresh on earning currency stick to T4 blessings you actually plan to use until you hae them and are playing blessing Pokemon as its much easier to upgrade brunts trash items than wait weeks for Milks to refresh to something usefull. If we ignore the malestrom mission on the auric board for which you should not f about and just call end game damnation/normal auric board ~500 stat weapons (good base stat with T3 blessings) are plenty good enough to get you through the missions but unless the blessing you want maxes out at T3 (perfect strike for example) it is worth getting the T4 versions in all cases, likewise T1 and T2 should be avoided. Finally higher mission dificulties give you way more Plasteel unless they have tweeked heresy (difficulty 4 iirc) you get about 400 maximum for a mission but on Damnation (5) you can snag 800. If you run past crafting mats you are only making your grind longer always always always loot just don't die to grab a small diamantine. Low int damnation is plasteel farming at its best so do run these if you want plasteel. Remember poorly maintained equipment is heresy and the god Emperor will forsake all who do not take the greatest of care with their purging tools
The TH-cam algorithm recommending me this video might have just been a sign of the Omnissiah itself. Fantastic video, I genuinely learned a lot from it.
(Excellent Guide.) /rant "Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game." - Soren Johnson, Civilization IV designer I consider this profound quote words to live my life by. So I've made a thrilling spreadsheet to keep track of how many blessings I've collected and got left for the 41 weapons types and 4 tiers of blessing.* Currently up to... 953 collected out of 1082 total blessings after over 1100 hours. I do consider this a design problem, esp. alongside the triple RNG to get a "god roll" 1) high total base modifiers, Close to 380 as possible for level 30. 2) The modifiers roughly in the right bars (probably mobility as the dump stat) 3) Hope you have at least two decentish perk/blessing to keep until #BreakTheLocks actually happens. AND THEN the blessing collection minigame. Gotta catch them all! .... Well actually not as there is no reason to use a lower tier except it's a bit cheaper in resources and T1 and T2s (and on very rare occasions Tier 3s) are buyable in the armoury. Given the 77 weapon variants and the Talent Rework... I really wish Fatshark would trust their own weapon and build diversity rather than making much of it inaccessible to most more casual players. In reality a good enough weapon is plenty enough for Auric Maelstrom but a few blessings (like Infernus on a laspistol) can massively change how a weapon behaves. *I have vague plans to make a public template to share on reddit if anyone wants it.
TLDR: You have a weapon build in mind. Step 1: Buy several copies of it from the armory until you get one with the base modifiers you like. Step 2: Consecrate that weapon in hopes it has at least 2 of your desired perks or 2 desired blessings or 1 of each. If it does, great, refine/rebless the 2 unwanted stats. If it doesn't, return to step 1. Notes: expect to spend time and several hundred thousand ordo docks. You can only rebless/refine twice and then the other unchanged perks/blessings are LOCKED, however you can keep changing the ones you refined/reblessed indefinitely. Last, it is highly unlikely though not impossible you will roll your end game gun with both level 4 blessings you want. The high rating gun copies you don't want (i.e. high base rating but not quite right modifier spread or just a little short in total like 360-370) are used to farm your needed blessing. Higher base rated guns will more likely roll tier 4 blessings, so consecrate these then you surrender it to earn its blessing and can apply it your build and go. You must do this with the EXACT same gun, a different mk version blessing will not be usable for another mk version. Okay, ACTUALLY LAST...you are not looking for perfection, only good enough. Unless darktide is your entire existence it will take plenty long for your average person to complete this process. I have only a handful of 540+ guns with all the stats I want and this took a couple hundred hours and millions of ordo docks. Eventually you will need to decide what is "good enough" and just have fun with the game!
I second this. I'm completing max difficulty Auric with weapons in the 490-510 range far from perfection using the off meta builds that are apparently "trash" and having way more fun this way. People are elitist and min-maxing this game takes half the fun out of it. Just enjoy the challenge and go for it.😊
Thanks! I've been getting into darktide recently and before that I only had about five hours from right after launch. I had no idea how the weapon system actually worked. But now I get it. May your enemies be many and your sword sharp.
Very glad to have found a video that explains things in a simple way that doesn't make me feel like an idiot for not knowing these things already. Also, you have a few pleasant voice
1. Chests when you level like Vermintide (that give you three items) 2. Diamantine's gotta have a use. 3. Let me modify everything about a weapon, not just a limited number of aspects. Maybe this could be a use for the diamantine I've got sitting around? 4. You should be able to acquire blessings and perks directly with currency to add to your library instead of wasting currency buying Melk's weapons for a single blessing. 5. You should be able to pay a cost of resources or ordo dockets to reallocate base stats on a weapon. This way, a high base roll can be optimized as well instead of potentially being borked by a bad allocation.
I will say, perks wise I agree that Crit Chance is normally not too popular a choice. However there are some weapons (such as the laspistol at a wopping 15%) that have a higher crit chance than other weapons. Plus some builds are entirely focused on getting crits. It's good to look around the community to see what some people are doing.
Don't remember if this is mentioned in the video, but there's a quick way to check if you already have a blessing on a weapon in the vendor shop. When viewing weapons blessing in vendor, the icon on the one you already have will be a little brighter. Just found out recently.
I appreciate the guide! I actually hit 30 on Veteran today. Spent all my dockets rolling weapons to celebrate and got a godroll revolver. 371 base, with a tier 4 crit perk and the tier 4 rending blessing. Glad to have some tips on what to do with the other two.
I find the answer to be much more simple: save up a lot of dockets, use brunts armory to buy your targeted profane weapon in BULK, sell them all off except the one with the highest overall rating, and consecrate it up to transcendant. Shouldnt take more than 3-5 times by the time your lvl30 to get a proper high rating weapon. THEN do it a few more times, consecrating the weapon(to no higher than exalted) to fish for wanted blessings, sacrifice the items for said blessings, and put them on the high rated weapon you plan to keep. If you keep to cycling like this, youll have your ideal god-tier item in no time. Easiest cheapest way to take advantage of the rng nature of the stats. Buying higher tier weapons from the general armory list is a slower, more expensive process. Even MORE so when you get to the point of trying to get specific blessings. Doing this I had 500+rated transcendant weapons with good blessings on most of my class builds by lvl 25/26.
Absolutely fantastic video for anyone starting out, going to share this with friends. The only thing I’d disagree with is your rankings of Crit Chance and Block Efficiency as perks. Which may just be a holdover opinion for me from my Vermintide days, but there are so many benefits to crits now and block efficiency does very well when stacked properly, especially with Psyker’s Deflection blessing and block to peril conversion passive. Otherwise, maybe mentioning headtaker as a solid blessing? It’s just on hit so easier to stack than Slaughterer, especially with multi target cleave, but it also has a weirdly higher value for heavy swords than any other weapon. Power giving cleave, stagger and damage is so good.
Thank the Omnisiah that ObeseFish finally announced they're going to rework the itemization system to reduce RNG and allow you to work towards specific loadouts.
I have 875 hours on this game and still don’t have a single weapon with two meta blessings and good perks, the best I can get is just a weapon with 1 meta blessing and good perks, just goes to show you how BS the crafting system is.
Bro how? Like honest to god you’re doing something wrong because I have well over 100 god tier weapons combined from my classes. What difficulty do you play and how much material do you get because I bet you you come out with no material cause nobody looks around so then you can’t craft
I wish instead of the 2 alteration/blessing change limit on weapons they just had exponentially increasing cost. 1st change: cheap. 2nd change: normal. 3rd change: hundreds of P&D 4th change: bit more than upgrading a weapon to gold.
Objection: The Omnissiah's Magos servant aboard the blessed Mourningstar is not named "Haydron". Knowing this is important as Magos Hadron has recommended termination of Varlets for lower offences.
Crafting in this game ia probably the main reason a few of my friends rage quit the game. After not being able to get power cycler back in the day after like 100 hours of gameplay they just gave up.
The only time to use the Melk mystery purchases imo is while leveling, when you get a curio slot and you have no curios in your shop or only ones you really don't want. I suppose you could also try to brute force a specific weapon one day if you get really flush from doing the weeklies on multiple characters.
Great guide! The only perk that springs to mind that you missed is Power Cycler for the Power Sword, giving insane cleave efficiency as you're spending less time charging and more time swinging.
Always get at least 51 mobility! This will make sure you always have max doges. With a 380 max and perfect rolls, everything will be 80s with one dump stat at 60. Mobility is generally a perfect dump stat as you only really need it to be 51 or higher so 60 is perfect. Though on force sword i prefer warp resistance as a dump especially depending on the build im using
The end game is so lackluster, I shouldn’t be possibly getting a weapon or curio after doing a lvl4 and even when you do it drops blue, 30mins for 1 item that might be shite great gameplay loop!
Definitely my biggest gripe with this game after coming over from Vermintide, absolutely no reason they couldn’t use a system to similar to that, hope it gets an overhaul.
Crazy story with finding a Plasma Gun at 380 base points is that it had its perks were under 50 and blessings were pitched against making it have both blessings at tier 4 unless I ignored the 1 or both trash perks, so that when I did work on it the number was lower than one that would be around 375 would have the way to give it the best of perks and blessings paired nice to where its max points value exceeded the one that was supposed to be the godroll one 😅
@@porkerpete7722play damnation or heresy with a low pop modifier, is easyer and you get from 400 to 600 plasteel a game , still not a lot but of you get your main weapons done you dont really have what to spend it on
Limited Acquisitions for me, is primarily a source of getting higher rank sacrifices for the crafting system. Finding something I'd actually use on its own is incredibly rare.
I got the flamer staff with run and gun and terrifying barrage. It’s super fun to sprint at enemies while dousing them in suppressing flames especially swinging in with a melee to finish off the cowardly heretics
This is a helpful guide for new players / those returning to the game now that the class system rework is in. I would like to offer up some additional considerations with the caveat that this is all "end game weapons" advice, meaning most players shouldn't worry much about it until they've hit the level 30 cap and are ready to try the Damnation/Auric/Maelstrom levels. With that out of the way: if your goal is to farm for desired blessings, it may be worth saving those junk weapons with the low base ratings after all because they are less expensive to upgrade. While this is purely anecdotal on my part, it does seem like the likelihood of you rolling a level 3 or 4 blessing is a good deal higher when going from the very expensive purple to gold rarity than it is when going from the far more affordable green to blue rarity. This is probably because it's far more expensive to do that final upgrade (something like 3x the amount of plasteel), so the bit of savings you get from upgrading lower quality weapons can come in handy if it's blessings you're after. It's not like it's impossible to get a tier IV blessing for the blue, but I get the feeling it's rolling from a different probability table. Of course, once you have the blessings you want, then by all means upgrade a weapon whose base rating is as close to 380 as possible, then refine/rebless for actual usage.
Very true! This advice is mainly so that when players do get to 30 (which can be surprisingly quick), they have the knowledge on how to go about getting that end game gear and tackling harder difficulties. And that's also a good catch that the low level gear can be good blessing fodder!
Crit Chance Perk is good with the blessing that matter on Crit Hits. Lucky Bullet and the like. Also Maulers have Carapace Armor Helmets for some reason. Which doesn't make anti-carapce better mind you, just means take flack and aim for the body where you'll do way more damage.
Flak modifier is actually pretty mid for most weapons. It makes sense for people that are playing knife meta like you showed some clips of but if you are using heavier weapons than usually theyre just a waste of a break point. Whereas unyeilding damage is crushers, bosses, bulwarks as well as reapers. All of which are high priority threats. (Also dont bother with carapice damage, the only advantage over unyeilding is headshot damage on maulers which is not worth at the cost of reaper, bulwark, AND boss damage, not worth at all as maulers are flak shoulders down ) With flak their enemies that are the biggest issues is just maulers and scan gunners, so flak danage veing worth depends on those other break points. Also Block efficiency on force swords along with deflector and the peril to block perk makes it so you can tank daemonhosts as a psyker. And yiu can block ranged and melee atacks so long that it eats more damage than bubble. But other than that, great overveiw. I started playing a bit after this patch and after jumping in head first these are more or less my findings as well tldr; unyeilding and maniac damage or even infested damage is generally better than other danage types. Flak is ONLY worth if you are hitting break points
Feel like having a tierlist for perks and blessings is as subjective as it gets. The great thing about this game is the fact that people can play how they want to play and still do Damnation+. I'm sure there is some sort of meta for making the hardest difficulty with the hardest special conditions seem like a breeze but lets be honest, anybody can beat the hardest difficulties with "weak perks".
You can actually one hit crushers with mk 3 knife on zealot. I only even have t3 uncanny as well, with ruthless backstab and uncanny strikes, if you have uncanny stacks than stealth backstab will instakill
Lacerate is crucial on bleed crit builds. I pulled a knife with lacerate 3 and dear lord.... what a mess. Apparently there is a mythical lacerate 4 out there now. I'll have to keep an eye out.
One issue with Lacerate is that it requires non weakpoint hits, which can really throttle the knifes regular performance in favor of, admittedly, one of the easiest ways to get bleed stacks. But for Zealots, bleed builds are hand in hand with crit builds, which usually guarantee the presence of Scourge, and that talent is already getting you plenty of bleed stacks. And for Veterans, they can take Serrated Blade for even easier access to bleed stacks too, removing the requirement of non weakpoint hits. This isn't to say Lacerate is bad necessarily, but when building a knife (even for a bleed build), I usually still like to focus on finesse based blessings to get the most of the knife's high critical and weakpoint damage bonuses. These being Uncanny Strike, Executor, Precognition, etc. This gives you "the cake and eating it too" since you are still getting tons of bleed stacks to down monstrosities with through your talents, while still buffing the knife so it can quickly assassinate just about anything incredibly quickly, even carapace laced crushers.
great video! just a little note for new players, another way to tell if you have a blessing or not its if the little magnifying glass shows up or not. if it is there, you dont have that blessing yet. if it isnt you do :D
While for most, the Reload speed may be a 'weak perk'; for the Bolter I can say for certain it is an absolute godsend... or Emperor-send in this case. I cannot number the amount of times being able to quickly get my very limited Bolter Mag reloaded and back to firing in a tight firefight has saved me and my teammates.
Reload speed and crit chance all the time every time. Especially with longer reloads reducing more time, the reaction speed is a matter of life and death with Bolter/Revolver/Shotgun against snipers, suiciders and trappers.
crit chance + crit damage + both the bleed blessings on combat blade for zealot with that early skill that crits on bleeding enemies = instant max bleed stacks on any enemy you hit twice
For sure melk random random,it should be min 365, and you should be able to choose the weapon specifically with a chance for it to come out in a higher rarity
I am aware that you cant commetn on any one weapon in detail, as the video would go on for literal hours but i need to add that reload speed on shotguns is in my humble opinion a must have. :3
thanks, your calm explanation of the the most arbitrarily fucked crafting system in any game iv ever played has inspired me to engage with it a little.
I think it's deliberately a difficult crafting system. For the sake of 40k it's 100% accurate. We're getting our guns maintained by the tech preists of mars. They are praying on our weapons instead of using any knowledge of the weapon augmentations. This crafting system is the most lore accurate representation of technological regression in the 41st Millenium.
I'd like to think fatshark was thinking this but I doubt they did. It looks more like just a lazy and shoehorned system because the game was released 5 years before it was ready.
I highly doubt this. From what I remember for Fatsharks last game Vermintide 2, the crafting system on release was also god awful. However as they continued releasing new content they eventually streamlined the process to be a bit easier. The same thing probably will happen in Darktide. As new content rolls in, they will most likely make crafting a lot better.
I agree. It's like go into the fray and gather materials, we don't know if your going to like what we do to it but you are a ragtag misfit operator and you get what we give you. If you don't like it, kill 2000 heretics and believe harder and display the emperor's favor then it will (eventually)(hopefully) reward you. This game is showing you what the imperium values you. 1 spacemarine=100 Guardsman. 2000 heretics is 2 consecrations from a profane weapon. The might of your weapons is your only accolade of your achievements. And you don't even like the ones you have
@@swiggsmcswoogsDeflector plus the peril to stamina feat. You can sit in front of a daemonhost more consistently/casually and shooters become a meme. Is it damage min/maxed? No, because it doesn't do anything for DPS. Psykers can be built to have their melee be a fallback weapon only. Having a utility melee isn't the end of the world when you're suppose to be the mage/backline.
i am trying to get the blessing that lets your power sword swing 2 times more while power mode is active, i use all the possibilities i keep checking the armory and sour milk and i did spend like 60k plasteel to turn grey swords into yellow ones to maybe get the trait but by niow i only managed to get it on tier III but tier IV is sadly twice as strong and desirable! i hate this, we complained that rerolling stuff in vermintide was to RNG, but blessings in darktide are even more RNG, they only stop being RNG when you got all of them which can take a LOT of time... i am speaking months of playing regularly to get all the weapon blessings you want/need for your loadouts... it's sad and it is clear as day that fatshark has no clue what they are doing. same goes for the mission terminal, why can't i choose my map and my difficulty instead i have to wait and hope that the RNG goes my way. fkn stupid!
Sire Melk has a lot more usefulness than you let on. Yes, he is not the vendor you should use for endgame, however I've found that he is best to shop for blessings you haven't managed to get yet. You can see what blessings he has and legendary weapons have 2 blessings, I've saved myself A LOT of dockets farming for blessings thanks to the crafting locks just by checking Melk and finding that he has what I want.
my only pet peeev with weapons is brunts armory and the names of his two store pages, requsistions and armory should have their names swaped, just soemthing feels off about the curent names
AGREED! Brunts Armoury should be the random rolled stuff and then Requisitions should be where you REQUEST new gear of a specific type. Big pet peev of mine too
The requisitions are gear recovered from fallen soldiers and its called that because you have to formally claim it because it belonged to someone. The armory is unblessed because it's a battleship that has an unaugmented weapon stockpile
Thank you for this video, the game came out a while ago on console and ive been playing it non stop, but after like 100+ hours, stuff like weapon rating and damage types werent explained so it gets confusing
Excellent video, i appreciated it so much! Subbed, looking forward to more darktide advice. I'm running a shield ogryn and the enemy ogryns seem to be the team wipers. So unyielding and flak?
A Surge 365 w/ tier 3 crit chance, tier 4 flak, tier 3 flurry and tier 4 nexus is about the only ranged weapon I'll run on my Psyker. Don't underestimate Surge primary fire either, it can easily one shot most unarmored enemies with a well placed shot to the head so it can serve as a very good horde clear with its ridiculously fast fire rate. Not only does it do good damage but it also suppresses enemies consistently, often times causing hordes to stop in their tracks and cower.
I still love the surge. But you gotta try a crit build on the void strike and get the blessing surge. And I promise it will change you. You don’t get the suppression but 1 shot a crusher and you’ll never go back. Plus it shreds through lesser hordes until it hits a wall.
@@Redditor6079 I got luncky with a 79% charge time roll but it feels like it takes the same time as a surge without the chrage blessing. So right around 2 seconds maybe. But with it shooting 2 balls it makes up for it imo
well i got a build for my Veteran Commando character, which got weakspot damage through Mercykill and adding bleed on crits, might be limited to how many stacks of bleed can be applied to a single target, but due to the high amount of finess and speed of the knife swing speed, it really does work, i can also switch it out with a combat axe for maps with alot more high armor elites, but for those levels i just wanna have fun with a flury of stabs i use a combat knife. i do also got a rather interesting build with my psyker that i can block useing deflection and the trait that allows one to block useing the perils of the warp (which does work in tandem with Deflector on the psyker force swords), couple that with some quelling on weakspot hits and a higher attacking speed it does allow for some interchangeable headpopping with brainburst and switching to the rapid fireing Surge staff that just gets that sweet stacking reduced charge speed the more frequent you use the secondary attack (so alot of quick surge use) and with warp ride and so much more makes that psyker pretty tanky, couple with some solid Curios that gives some cooldown speed, it just allows for alot of crowd control
Thank you for this, because I've totally been thinking that crit chance and damage would be the end-all be-all of perks - probably a hold over from my Diablo 3 days.
Seems like the rolls are random. Made a 382 auto rifle and so far it melts pretty good. With 2 t2 blessings. Sucks that you can only change 2 perks which means you need at least 2 god rolls and then have the blessings unlocked at t4 (havent found any t4 blessings) to make a full god tier weapon. Or get 2 tier 4 blessing on the weapon roll in which you want. Even then chances are very low. I love the Auto I crafted due to the blessings and luck but had to change the 2 perks to accomidate the play style the auto wants to do. Its very helpful to use the damage grid on weapon inspect so you can determine dmg-ammo count- perks- role.
I bought 174 Voidstaffs, most of them from Brunts Armory and upgraded them all to Rare (two to Legendary and two to Epic) in search for the Surge blessing, which is a T4 only blessing. I didnt get it. Is there a better way to do this?
In my own experience, getting tier 4 blessings are way more common from legendary upgrades, 99% of the time the rare upgrade blessings are tier 3 or lower
I would second Torchmarrow - you're much more likely to get a 4 from the legendary upgrade. Unfortunately, I have not found a way to improve acquisition - most of my tier 4 talents have come from Melk purchases that I applied to better-rolled weapons.
@@Torchmarrowyeah. You dont engage with the dumb crafting and just roll with what you have. You dont need the absolute best gears to even clear damn+ HISTG, as long as you have 350+ base rating on all your weapons.
I really like the gameplay of this game, yet it's missing something to keep me playing. I've only played for around a 100 hours, yet i got two chars on 30 with maxed out weapons. I've reached the endgame and now... what now? every drop is useless, every bit of gold/plasteel/diamond is useless, every bit of xp is useless. There is still this "battlepass" but the stuff on there doesn't even seem worth the struggle. I'll keep on playing to have a good time with friends, beside that, there is no reason.
farming platsteel is so slow. trying to roll for weapons/blessings feels like im living mission to mission on ordo and platsteel while i drown in diamantine
@@confiteor266 they should adjust the plasteel cost imo. Spending almost 200 plasteel to upgrade from green to blue is absurd when you can only maybe get 180 on average per mission.
Or like instead of getting ordo dockets when we disassemble items lets get plasteel/diamantine equivalent to the rarity? Ordo yeah ill gladly farm that per mission but getting coins as well in disassembly seems dumb
The massive amount of time it takes to get the perfect weapon is INSANE. So please for the love of the Emperor research your favorite and what you want on it, extensively and then farm the ever living crap out of just that one weapon. It should have as high item level as possible, and check it's individual stats so they align with what you need. It need to have 2 perfect rolls either in Perks or Blessings as you can only change 2. The chances of max stats, the right perks and the right blessings on a weapon to maximize it's potential is so darn small that it will take you weeks to even get close. Might never see a perfect roll. And even if you do you still might need to unlock the Blessing you need, which takes finding that one blessing for that one weapon at the highest rank, requiring it to be max upgraded to even have a chance for it, meaning MASSIVE amounts of resources is needed! To get more resources you must play on harder difficulties. Which gets really hard, not only to get used to but overall the failure rates go up with pugs... ALOT. I almost wanna say just don't bother and go with what ever. But some weapon combo's with certain builds are so damn strong and fun to use when you have it all aligning together.... I really wish this was much simpler....
You dont need the perfect weapon, but it boggles the mind why such a system was even left in for so long. At launch we didnt even get brunts, so players could easily have gotten to level 30 without EVER seeing certain weapons (i for one have never purchased or received via reward the indignatus crusher until very recently). It was so awful, yet hadrons 'crafting' remains shite to this day, and this was after like, what, 2 major changes to crafting. For shame that its taken almost a whole year and FS still hasnt removed their tail from their sphincter and remove locks.
If you're not short on cash and end up with a brick, it is worth just letting it rot in your inventory for when the devs raise the reroll limit from 2. Copium
Whats the difference between the Vermintide 2 meta perks and such? I consider Ledgendary in V2 on par with damnation. So those were i believe block cost reduction 30% and 20% health. Weapons were almost always 10% attack speed with one 10%dmg to skaven with another being 10%chaos on a charm.

NEVER upgrade low level weapons save all you plasteel for level cap or if you get super lucky at high level and land a god roll (not happening but just incase)
When you hit level cap go to Brunts and buy lots of the wepaon(s) you like.
Upgrade the 300 or so ratings to farm blessings:
These are cheaper to upgrade (plasteel) than max roll weapons so your plasteel will be better utilised.
Thanks for the strategy guide 🎉
Replying so I can come back.

"Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game." - Soren Johnson, Civilization IV designer
I consider this profound quote words to live my life by.
So I've made a thrilling spreadsheet to keep track of how many blessings I've collected and got left for the 41 weapons types and 4 tiers of blessing.*
Currently up to... 953 collected out of 1082 total blessings after over 1100 hours.
I do consider this a design problem, esp. alongside the triple RNG to get a "god roll"
1) high total base modifiers, Close to 380 as possible for level 30.
2) The modifiers roughly in the right bars (probably mobility as the dump stat)
3) Hope you have at least two decentish perk/blessing to keep until #BreakTheLocks actually happens.
"Good enough" is my mantra. Running Auric levels with blues really makes you realize it's more about your skill than equipment.
I second this. I'm completing max difficulty Auric with weapons in the 490-510 range far from perfection using the off meta builds that are apparently "trash" and having way more fun this way. People are elitist and min-maxing this game takes half the fun out of it. Just enjoy the challenge and go for it.😊
This is a seriously helpful video for a newby like me! Learning the nuances and that's probably the reason this game is growing on me! Thank you!
No prob! Enjoy the pre-holiday purging out there!
As a new player this video was very helpful, thanks
ty blessed algorithm , I already knew the gist of what was covered here but it was nice hearing it explained in a simple yet articulate manner
1. Chests when you level like Vermintide (that give you three items)
Zealot Fury build with crits recharge ability and crits proc Fury count for instance. Or revolvers that have a crit mod.
I watched a bunch of other videos that were so confusing and inaccurate on this topic before I found this one, you really nailed it dude 👍🏻
Thanks! Glad I could help parse through all the confusion that generally surrounds crafting!
Don't remember if this is mentioned in the video, but there's a quick way to check if you already have a blessing on a weapon in the vendor shop. When viewing weapons blessing in vendor, the icon on the one you already have will be a little brighter. Just found out recently.
Never thought a game would make me miss Vermintide 2’s gear system
Thousands of plasteel has been sacrificed to the Omnissiah for my Holy Bolters
The buffed reload blessing for the revolver is great too
Thanks for the video! As a new player I was searching for such overview, and yours is one of the best. The Emperor protects!

I have 875 hours on this game and still don’t have a single weapon with two meta blessings and good perks, the best I can get is just a weapon with 1 meta blessing and good perks, just goes to show you how BS the crafting system is.
That's why I rarely bother with weapons. I am content with the ones I have
3rd change: hundreds of P&D
4th change: bit more than upgrading a weapon to gold.
Objection: The Omnissiah's Magos servant aboard the blessed Mourningstar is not named "Haydron". Knowing this is important as Magos Hadron has recommended termination of Varlets for lower offences.

Thanks king. Your efforts in FS forum are not unseen, at least to people who actually play the game (hopefully fatshark do, too)
The only time to use the Melk mystery purchases imo is while leveling, when you get a curio slot and you have no curios in your shop or only ones you really don't want. I suppose you could also try to brute force a specific weapon one day if you get really flush from doing the weeklies on multiple characters.
Amazing guide, no idea how this hasn't blown up yet!
Great guide! The only perk that springs to mind that you missed is Power Cycler for the Power Sword, giving insane cleave efficiency as you're spending less time charging and more time swinging.
Aaah, yup! Practically a must on the Power Sword for sure

Finally ran across this video after following you on twitter for months. Well done on the video, very professional.
Awesome video, dude! This is great stuff.
Less than a 100 games in and got super lucky with a godroll plasma gun myself lol, absolutely broken.

There's always a plasteel drought for me
Tell me about it. Most of the weapons from Burts armory I get is around 310.
Certain weapons really want crit chance. What modifier you want on a weapon depends on the weapon. But as a general rule, I agree with you.
And that's also a good catch that the low level gear can be good blessing fodder!
bless your soul with this video, thank you!
I just got a 378 boltgun this afternoon! 78% on all stats cept collateral that’s 68
Crit Chance Perk is good with the blessing that matter on Crit Hits. Lucky Bullet and the like.
Also Maulers have Carapace Armor Helmets for some reason. Which doesn't make anti-carapce better mind you, just means take flack and aim for the body where you'll do way more damage.
lol you had me at "Murder tools" subbed. Nice video, well explained and great info
I enjoy you. You kinda sound like Primso from Adventure time. Good stuff.
(Also dont bother with carapice damage, the only advantage over unyeilding is headshot damage on maulers which is not worth at the cost of reaper, bulwark, AND boss damage, not worth at all as maulers are flak shoulders down )
With flak their enemies that are the biggest issues is just maulers and scan gunners, so flak danage veing worth depends on those other break points.
Also Block efficiency on force swords along with deflector and the peril to block perk makes it so you can tank daemonhosts as a psyker. And yiu can block ranged and melee atacks so long that it eats more damage than bubble.
But other than that, great overveiw. I started playing a bit after this patch and after jumping in head first these are more or less my findings as well
tldr; unyeilding and maniac damage or even infested damage is generally better than other danage types.
Your videos are perfect and I love your humor!
I like how you're out there aiming for the head. I only prefer riposte over precognition because it is 6 seconds not 2
Seems they have finally announced they re going to do something about the crafting etc. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
great video! just a little note for new players, another way to tell if you have a blessing or not its if the little magnifying glass shows up or not. if it is there, you dont have that blessing yet. if it isnt you do :D
Or revolver or shotgun.
Reload speed and crit chance all the time every time.
Especially with longer reloads reducing more time, the reaction speed is a matter of life and death with Bolter/Revolver/Shotgun against snipers, suiciders and trappers.
17:58 uncanny strike for knife is a beast for cuttin down enemies even maulers!
You can even put it on shovels and thunk em around, such a good blessing
crit chance + crit damage + both the bleed blessings on combat blade for zealot with that early skill that crits on bleeding enemies = instant max bleed stacks on any enemy you hit twice
For the love of God Emperor, dodge sideways, especially if your melee weapon doesn't have the best reach or movement.

And you don't even like the ones you have
Great guide! Keep up the good work!
Once you add a blessing to your available, can you just apply it one time or is it always available for use?
Once you unlock the blessing you have that blessing at the level forever (for now)
@@FlokiDargoawesome. Thank you!
Vt2 crafting was much better than this
Yes
perfectly up to date
What about deflector for the force sword literally lets you be a jedi and block bullets with your sword on psyker only other character with a shield
Deflector is, in fact, bad ass as hell
@@swiggsmcswoogsDeflector plus the peril to stamina feat.
You can sit in front of a daemonhost more consistently/casually and shooters become a meme.
Is it damage min/maxed? No, because it doesn't do anything for DPS.
Psykers can be built to have their melee be a fallback weapon only. Having a utility melee isn't the end of the world when you're suppose to be the mage/backline.
i am trying to get the blessing that lets your power sword swing 2 times more while power mode is active, i use all the possibilities i keep checking the armory and sour milk and i did spend like 60k plasteel to turn grey swords into yellow ones to maybe get the trait but by niow i only managed to get it on tier III but tier IV is sadly twice as strong and desirable!
i hate this, we complained that rerolling stuff in vermintide was to RNG, but blessings in darktide are even more RNG, they only stop being RNG when you got all of them which can take a LOT of time... i am speaking months of playing regularly to get all the weapon blessings you want/need for your loadouts... it's sad and it is clear as day that fatshark has no clue what they are doing.
same goes for the mission terminal, why can't i choose my map and my difficulty instead i have to wait and hope that the RNG goes my way.
fkn stupid!
the first time you get a lv4 you also kinda have to scrap it to unlock it permanently; unless you wanna risk farming for it a second time.
Just found this murder gem 4 days ago and I love it. I hope they don't leave it to as it is and add more.
You rock! you're very great at explaining things.
great video, really clear and easy to understand
@@Idontknowwhat2type I will certainly give it a try, how low can you get the charge time on it?
@@Redditor6079 I got luncky with a 79% charge time roll but it feels like it takes the same time as a surge without the chrage blessing. So right around 2 seconds maybe. But with it shooting 2 balls it makes up for it imo
Rolling for good weapons on brunts armory is seriously underrated pate game
well i got a build for my Veteran Commando character, which got weakspot damage through Mercykill and adding bleed on crits, might be limited to how many stacks of bleed can be applied to a single target, but due to the high amount of finess and speed of the knife swing speed, it really does work, i can also switch it out with a combat axe for maps with alot more high armor elites, but for those levels i just wanna have fun with a flury of stabs i use a combat knife. i do also got a rather interesting build with my psyker that i can block useing deflection and the trait that allows one to block useing the perils of the warp (which does work in tandem with Deflector on the psyker force swords), couple that with some quelling on weakspot hits and a higher attacking speed it does allow for some interchangeable headpopping with brainburst and switching to the rapid fireing Surge staff that just gets that sweet stacking reduced charge speed the more frequent you use the secondary attack (so alot of quick surge use) and with warp ride and so much more makes that psyker pretty tanky, couple with some solid Curios that gives some cooldown speed, it just allows for alot of crowd control
I use melk to get high teir blessings and throw them on crafted weapons
I just want them to add different sights! Lol
There is a mod for it, but it feels a bit like cheating. But no hard feelings if you go for it :) have fun
Agreed, the irons on a lot of weapons are trash as hell. I'm hoping for a decent crafting system and some cod style weapon tinkering but we will see..
Is it really that hard to ask for maybe some attachments for the guns. I mean ghat emprah dayum I want some better sights on my Hellbore.
Super helpful. Cheers
A tip is usually one blessing will get you another similar to it.
Thank you so much 🙏 been getting clapped on those level 4-5 missions
As a vermintide veteran i really hate the crafting system and farming plasteel
farming platsteel is so slow. trying to roll for weapons/blessings feels like im living mission to mission on ordo and platsteel while i drown in diamantine
@@confiteor266 they should adjust the plasteel cost imo. Spending almost 200 plasteel to upgrade from green to blue is absurd when you can only maybe get 180 on average per mission.
@@cali4806damnation missions give 800 or so plasteel on average
Or like instead of getting ordo dockets when we disassemble items lets get plasteel/diamantine equivalent to the rarity? Ordo yeah ill gladly farm that per mission but getting coins as well in disassembly seems dumb
that offworld auspex its f* adicting, good video mate
Great guide - what is the base curios max rank you can get?
Highest rating for curios should be 80. I'll also be planning to release a curios specific video as well in the future!
Subbed ! - keep making these, good shit 😎
You are absolutly right. And than there is me. Playing 4 rounds on heresy and one on damnation accidently with a grey weapon without noticing 😂
Copium
how do you have damage numbers in your match?
He has some mods on PC prolly
I found the blessing Sunder tier 4 yet idk how good it is for Power Sword or any other weapon it applies to
Whats the difference between the Vermintide 2 meta perks and such?
I consider Ledgendary in V2 on par with damnation.
So those were i believe block cost reduction 30% and 20% health.
Weapons were almost always 10% attack speed with one 10%dmg to skaven with another being 10%chaos on a charm.
How are you getting the floating damage numbers showing up during game play?
I figured it out. Was using mods. Specifically the Healthbars mod.
