I watched both episodes of this run to Oklahoma for Archie's collection. We were neighbors of his mom and dad's for 28 years and got to know Archie very well. He is sorely missed and loved and cared for at the cemetery where he's at, I'm the caretaker of it. You did a very good job of representing what and who he was with his family. Thank you for that. He would be proud someone likes his collection so much
Incredible collection. Feels like the old man was taken advantage of. $250k collection for $8k. I cringed when you revealed the price. Yes, a lot of work, but sad for him.
Whereas I’m a huge fan of this show and super glad you got such a good deal, I’m entirely overwhelmed with grief that this gentleman spent presumably his entire life collecting cards for it only to be sold for less than $9k. I hope at some point I’m missing something, because it truly seems like a mistake that one man’s life work could be worth so little.
Again, props to the team for being the benefactor of such an awesome deal! Can’t wait to see the next episode
Totally agree. I’m sure this guy loved his cards as much as we all do but seems like a lonely life just sitting there and buying and sorting cards for all those years. This video has inspired me to start selling my entire lifelong collection so that my wife and kids don’t have to go through all of my boxes of cards and try to sell them in an auction for a measly $8,200. And I’ve got a lot better sealed wax and singles than anything I saw that was in that house.
1000% agreed! It’s actually quite sickening! These ppl can afford to give ppl fair money. They’re not only making a killing off the cards but off of the monetized TH-cam channel full of paid ads as well. And it’s only gonna get bigger! It’s sad man! You know what they say those who buy whole collections are usually thieves! Lol!
I know I'm behind on this, but don't forget that this was a blind auction. They paid more than anyone else was willing to pay. They most definitely would have gone higher if they were dealing one-on-one.

Great collection and great buy on yalls part. I love to see peoples entire collections because it can tell you alot about the person...sad part is that Archies life work was only worth $8200. Crazy to think about. Great documentation guys keep it up.

Great episode! I found myself checking TH-cam everyday since Part 1 to see when Part 2 was coming out. My wife watched Part 1 with me knowing nothing of cards and she was asking when it was coming out. You guys are awesome. Proves once again when you do things the right way good things seem to happen for you, isn’t that funny how that works. Congrats!
I started watching Chasing Cardboard about 2 weeks ago. I knew when I started watching that there was something different about your channel that I was drawn too! My spirit kept telling me these guys are your brothers in Christ Jesus! Keep Christ 1st brothers! He has put His hands on what you are doing! This is such a quality show. I enjoy it more than I enjoy traditional TV shows. The production is incredible, and you can tell there’s a lot of work that goes into this. Also love how collections and people are respected through this process.

For all the money on storage units you could lease a small store and set the kids up with their own LCS to run.

I bought a huge hockey lot from the son of a big collector . I said to him that it looked like there were a few boxes missing that should have been there . About a month later as they were still cleaning his mothers house out the cards were found.

It would be great if you could get SGC to create special slabs with "The Archie Collection" notation on all the major cards. It would be a fitting tribute to Archie; a way for viewers to participate with the stories, and you and the boys could track some of the collection for decades to come. Amazing collection!

If y’all paid $8200 in a blind bid. You said you might triple your money. If you only make $24,600 off all of that product then something is wrong. Y’all are smart. You’ll grade the ones you should and maximize your profits. Phenomenal show. Can’t stop watching.
Thanks Josh...we probably ended up with 4-5x on that deal. For us we have to factor in show/production costs as well...which eat into our potential profits.

What a beautiful cardboard story but even a great adventure in cardboard I'm sure as a reseller investor and collector I just can't believe how awesome of a find this was and especially to get it sight basically unseen for a great winning bid that was one for the story books my friend

That is such a awesome collection! I love buying collection and going through them. I recently had all of my inventory and personal collection stolen, including cards, coins, toys and other collectibles. Even my computers, and yes even my clothes. I had my first child last year a beautiful boy he's 15 months now, his name is Cal Ripken Junior yes my last name is Junior. Everything I had worked so hard on to have a happy solid home for Cal and I, gone overnight. I have Cal full time, his mom was the thief while I was gone and she took everything even my identity, she was logged into my Google taking pictures of my stuff with save location on, and even with those 500 pictures with gps coordinates the police would not get my stuff back and that allowed her to sell all of it, give it away etc. We were not married and she invested zero into my collection and business. That left Cal and I with nothing, homeless staying with my father. It's just heartbreaking and recovery is not going well. Watching this gives me hope that I can find a deal that can put us back on a solid foundation, working back from 0 is not going well. I pray for something to change it's hard, I won't lie but I believe that we will get on the right path!
I'd have a hard time trying to stop too! I call it "rummaging" and it can be so addictive.

I think I said this on part 1, but this is what really gets my blood pumping! Digging through cards with the possibility of coming across some great stuff! It’s a bummer about the Mantle’s, but there is so much other great stuff. I think it was probably also easier to take since you had already written those off. Keep these kinds of episodes coming!

This series of the 6 million cards is great and you guys got a huge deal. It has made me, however, want to sell my entire collection so that my wife and kids won’t get stuck trying to sell my life long collection and getting a measly $8,200. This episode really made me see that collecting all this stuff is fun but you can’t take it with you and seems kind of a waste when I could be spending more time with my kids and wife and a lot less time on cards. No I don’t have 6 million but 2 million seems to be plenty. But seeing how this guy just hoarded and could barely walk through his house and had them falling on him in bed just so his family could get $8,200. 😬😬😬
Damn, All those Kershaws and Scherzers RCs!!!! I hope those are all in good grading shape. I see at the end of the video, you guys showed 1 Kershaw and 1 Scherzer both in a SGC 10, so were those the only 10s? What did the other ones grade at
So awesome. Really hope you do do a recap of the awesome good stuff you pulled. Here’s a question. What’s your thought on slabbed wax. Any of these worth sending in for a grade. Maybe you can talk about that soon. So glad I stumbled across this adventure so early. Been with you since the beginning and when you hit 100,000 subs, I’ll be glad to say I been here since the 1st 1k.
That was the coolest collection ever to go through. Love how when you get bored your just like ya I'll open up this pack and try and get a Jeter rookie. Thought you paid like 25k for sure, you got a great deal and the family seems happy, win win. This show is great, been subscribed since the first episode, can't believe you guys are huge yet. If you were on the history channel you'd put up better numbers then the picker and storage auction shows.
This is quite scary actually. I can't even imagine how much money Archie spent on all these cards (probably in the 100's of thousands of dollars) and all that came out of it was $8,200. This should be a good lesson to all collectors to have a plan for your collections future.

wendell seems very pleasant to deal with. unfortunate about the mantles, but the rest of the stuff makes up for it.
man what a score.. cant beleive it went that low at auction.. if I had walked in there myself would have given 20K easy on the spot with maybe an hours time to look through it.

I’m confident the amount made will be so uncomfortably large it will feel too awkward to state publicly. Likely completely life changing.
They made a great steal. I know his family just wanted the stuff gone but just feels like a waste of a life for a measly $8,200. It’s why I’m selling now because I have a lot better wax and singles collection and have about a tenth of the bulk that guy had.

Those “Mantles” flashed in the photos have “Certificate of Authenticity” stickers over the top loaders, were manufactured by well known counterfeiters….either way, I hope the sale works out well for you!

I guessed higher but with a blind auction and having no idea what's in it I completely understand the bid. Could have been mostly junk wax and you would have taken a big loss. That's the gamble and it looks like it will pay off well for you. Would love to go through a collection like that but not the long road and headaches of trying to sell all of it. I love the channel guys!! I had to sell my nfl collection to help my sister pay moms medical bills and funeral expenses a few months ago so I’m starting all over again. Unfortunately we have no local LCS in or around Kennewick Washington so if you guys have an eBay I could purchase some affordable stuff would you be so kind as to let me know?! Getting this collection would be simultaneously my biggest dream come true and my biggest nightmare!!!
Pros: You get to play with cards for hours.
Cons: You have no living room/spare room. You never end sorting it out.

You have to identify their value pyramid. (I just made that up but I’m gonna explain myself lol) Every card collector grows these impulses of separating their keeps and don’t keeps or for me it’s send to grading goes in binder or goes in box. The faster you can identify that hierarchy the faster you,lol get to the nuts of the collection. This guy looks like he sleeves and top loads autos, then no sleeve bundles for other high value rookies and refractors then boxes unsleeved for everything else. So Hell yeah you go through the rubber band stacks! Lol
Easily over 35k if they valued everything correctly. Did the guy work for Topps or a sports cards store? Why would he have so much unopened stuff? Insane!!
