Love the content, I’ve mistakenly purchased some water mixable oil paint. Would you recommend me getting regular oil paint instead or is it similar for shading?
@@totinoshotpizzarolls3312 You should be fine with it. I have used water mixable oil paint before and you get some nice effects with it. I've even used it on Golden Demon winning pieces for weathering!
Just want to know that I've spent many, many years on TH-cam. And this video I play almost once a day. I think you've done excellent work here. I am attempting to put this style pauldron my my current model. I won't do your video justice, but I just want to say this video is my favorite video on TH-cam. You've done excellent, excellent work.
Really good stuff, love how you've really allowed us to see every step, no step 1 Brown under coat step 15 finished model. I player shambling undead so I'm really tempted to do another mummy in this style.
You are a true gem in the miniature painting TH-cam sphere! Please never stop what you are doing :) I learned so much from your videos and it means a lot to me! Thanks for the effort you put into doing those videos! Appreciate it!
Im using this as a reference for my General Radahn cosplay from Elden Ring and this really intimidates me for the timeline of my lifesize armor 😢, but! If it turns out half as good as this, it'll be really great!
another great painting tutorial, indeed! with all the boarding actions and space hulk terrain coming out from GW, would be nice maybe to see a segment of that terrain painted too :-) even on richardgraycreations :-)
I noticed you've generally used the same colours here to paint bronze, as you have for other tutorials involving gold. Is the trick to creating a distinction between the two metals about the relative size of highlight volumes, or the speed of transition through the highlight colours? For my banana-versary project, I'd like to paint a Custodes in NMM, as a mile marker from my first ever mini. I''d like to do the trim and filigree as a different type of 'yellow' metal and was wondering what the trick to it was.
Thanks for the comment re: light volumes and realism. I think one of the reason that stuff like NMM really makes me hesitate is that I'm worried about getting the light 'right'. I did want to ask, do you have a kind of rule of thumb for how many bounce highlights you use? or should it just basically be to taste, and based on, the main focuse of the model? Love your work! I watch your videos quite a lot. So thank you very much for making them!
Wait, so I agree that this looks like bronze and rogal dorn looked like gold, but aren't they the exact same recipe? I love your RD gold recipe and have used it a lot, I guess I expected bronze to be different. Is it mainly in how much balor brown you use?
People get anti-NMM because they watched a thousand videos without trying it, tried it once, it didn't go how they wanted, so they returned to sloppily applying true metal + wash. Very few of the results we want as miniature painters are the product of "natural talent," but rather practice. The ones against things like NMM typically don't want to practice.
Sorry everyone, I'm not sure what went wrong with the audio. It'll be sorted on the next video!
it's ok, I just turned up my computer volume and my headphones and it seemed fine
Stoked that Bloodbowl is getting some love :) Also, a severe lack of high level Harlequin tutorials would love to see your grim dark take on them!
WHAT? CAN YOU SPEAK UP?

Wonderful control of light.
I am ecstatic. Your style makes me forget about using an airbrush. You have a wonderful vision of colours and light ...
Awesome! More Blood Bowl Tutorials would be greatly apreciated! 🤗
Just a little comment because it's helping the creator. Thanks for your awesome videos straight to the point
really cool weathering.

AMAZING!!! the application for this can be used in so many ways for NMM...THANKS!!! so good.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of your amazing blood bowl minis! That bronze turned out excellent
Amazing job as always! 💙 Your videos are always the highlight of my month!
Keep these amazing videos coming. Really enjoyed hearing about the process
Thank you! Lovely work as usual.
Incredible! Wonderful work.

Amazing video! It looks like real metal 🤩
Killer vid Richard. Keep up the great work!
Brilliant as always
It's looking stunning, Rich Great tutorial
Oh lord, it's amazing!
Love the result, cheers man !

would love to see some blood ravens
Wow. Amazing!
Astonishing work as always Richard. The volume mixing on this one is off though, it's really quiet.
Agreed! Stunning work but the usual quiet videos have now reached library-safe levels. I will have to research with headphones or in a vacuum

Fantastic.
A great guide to a few techniques. I think I may send some links to your videos to my wife when I'm not in a teaching mood.
Wow! Great video tutorial :)
How did you learn to paint? Would love to see a Necron video.

I’m going to give this a go 😊 wish me luck 😂
Hey Richard, do you have any advice on a frozen armor? Like gun metal with some icy effect?
Could you suggest a tmm technique?
Wait, so I agree that this looks like bronze and rogal dorn looked like gold, but aren't they the exact same recipe? I love your RD gold recipe and have used it a lot, I guess I expected bronze to be different. Is it mainly in how much balor brown you use?
How diluted are these paints? Half water to half paint maybe?
Strange flashy pixel in the middle of your video. Excellent video btw.
Is it just me or was Richard's voice level really low on this video? Great work anyway lol.
Not just you, I had to increase my headset volume approx 30%

Yep! I have been working on NMM hard for like 6-8 months and I still don’t feel confident with it!
Witchcraft
..bahahaha
