Hey santiago²! I have a few questions for you 😊 Is your Deck completely stock or do you have CryoUtilities2.0 installed and made some changes in bios like undervolting, 4gb VRAM or even allowed CPU to 4,2ghz and GPU 2,2Ghz? From my point of view (looking at the on screen informations in Midgard) the game prefers GPU over CPU! Thats why i am extremely curious if changing the bios-settings to manual allowing the GPU 2,2Ghz and also compare the 2gb and 4gb VRAM setting with stock. I'd bet that there is a fair chance of some more FPS. Oh one more question. How much of a difference does it make of you deactivate ambient occlusion and tesselation 😅
@@Bobny989 Santa Monica Studio has a really comptent team of Engine Programmers and the workflow is optimized for consoles which makes it easier to optimize afterwards for other platforms.
Se ve realmente increible en la zona demandante, a pesar de ser eso "demandante" que una Steam Deck esté corriendo eso a esa calidad gráfica es impresionante el nivel de trabajo que le metieron en optimización a éste juego, en comparación al de 2018
so even with frame generation you still aim for 30 fps? still not to bad ig looking at the graphics. also 200gb is insane its the first game ive seen bigger than rdr2
Gyro works really weird, do you guys have the same problem? Normally the moment you trigger gyro the center is set the position you triggered at, in ragnarok its fixed and whenever I trigger it kratos starts turning
have you undervolted your deck, and what is your ambient temp while playing/ it seems to be running quite cool. comparatively cooler than the original on my deck and ive undervolted -40,-40,-50 usually playing with temps around 17-23 Celsius and get 68-81, 68/72ish typically in the lower temps given.
@@SantiagoSantiago ahh that explains it then, still surprising the temps of the OLED are equally to the full undervolt of my LCD though in similar conditions. good to know, probably get another -10 degrees if you also hit the silicon lottery on your OLED. also the improved fan on the OLED model is better than mine. i have the first revision fan unfortunately... but luckily hit the silicon lottery.
So far when playing the game I don't remember running into that, didn't play more after I made this video, so maybe things have changed, I want to finish GoW 2019 first
as always thanks for the informative testing I just have question: if a microSD was A1 instead of A2 would there be any performance issues? and the games that run off an SD card give the same performance as the the internal SSD? I saw everyone recommending the A2 SanDisk/Samsung cards but those are just not currently available in my area I'd really appreciate your opinion on this matter
Slightly off topic, but man, I still really want god of war 3 on the deck, id even accept like 24 fps. I'm hoping that the rapid progress of ps4 emulators lately could lead to a break through
Don't be stupid and wish for subpar performace on 15 y old game. They should just make another remaster and put in on new consoles and PC. That's the way to do it not be simping for slideshow gaming.
From what I can tell, Low settings is practically the PS4's settings since Low lighting disables SSDO which is the same as the PS4 version. Medium preset somewhat serves the PS5 version which mix with higher textures/models/aniso filtering. Digital Foundry's on the PS4 version also confirms this. PS4's version lacks what PC's Medium settings offers. Lack of SSDO, reduced geometry and LoD, reduced texture quality and so on. But even in Low, it still looks fantastic and has decent scaling. Biggest fps killer on any system right now is Shadows and Tesselation. Reduce them when you encounter lower frame-rates in other sections.
@@moxie3337 game developers already said the ultra settings it's what the ps5 it's using on quality mode, and a mix of high and ultra on performance mode

Keep in mind that the PC Port of Ragnarok is made in mind with PS5's port while the GOW 2018 was made with PS4's port. You can tell since GOW 2018 is still absent with SSDO in PS5 while PC has support of SSDO.
Hey man, as always great video! My question is: In the last update (patch 2), they fixed DLSS Frame generation (as I understood). Does it mean, that if you use DLSS Enabler, it will work now? What you thoughts on it and if yes, can you check it?
Hey! Haven't got around to use DLSS Enabler here, but it should technically be the same as enabling FSR3 frame gen in the menu itself, I would use it if the game lacks FSR3 in the menu :)
Just got into svartalfheim with the 30fps lock and same settings as you on OLED. Have had drop downs to low 20s. Can you guess what could be causing that? I don’t see that happening to you in the same sections.

He uses the OLED with a 90Hz panel. The Steam Deck LCD can only be driven at 40-60Hz, so can only choose a fps amount that can be evenly divided by those refresh rates... Resulting in a gap between 31-39fps. Example; let's say you want 35fps. If you want to run that "evenly" on the display it would require 70Hz, but the LCD Steam Deck can only update at 60Hz, that's why it's impossible to run at framerates between 31-39fps. at 30fps you run at 60Hz/2, at 25fps you can run at 50Hz/2 and so on, until you reach 20fps then it's 1/3 of 60Hz again. 40fps runs at 40Hz and so on.
